Best filter on the market
These are the best and most affordable filters on the market. I’ve used these for several years and they never cease to impress me. They pump a ton of water and can be cleaned and adjusted very easily. Sponge filters work much better and all around quieter than regular cartridge replacement filters. They hold beneficial bacteria for the fish and all you need to do is rinse out the sponges every few weeks rather than getting rid of it like replacement filters. It was a perfect fit for my big tank and keeps it clean and the fish happy and healthy. Really recommend this product.

Easy to install and operate
I recently purchased the AQQA Aquarium Sponge Filter for my freshwater tank, and I couldn't be happier with the results! This submersible filter has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, ease of use, and overall efficiency. One of the standout features of this filter is its power-driven double biochemical design, which ensures thorough filtration and keeps my aquarium water crystal clear. The sponge filter is excellent for cultivating beneficial bacteria, promoting a healthy environment for my fish. The submersible design is not only space-saving but also incredibly quiet, making it a perfect addition to any room without creating unnecessary noise. I appreciate the low energy consumption, which is a win for both my wallet and the environment.Setting up the AQQA Aquarium Sponge Filter was a breeze – the instructions were clear, and the filter itself is easy to assemble. Maintenance is a cinch too, thanks to the quick disassembly feature. The durable construction of the filter gives me confidence that it will last for a long time.I've tried several filters in the past, but the AQQA Aquarium Sponge Filter stands out as a top performer. If you're in the market for a reliable, quiet, and efficient filtration solution for your aquarium, look no further. Decent filter for the money, just not much top agitation.
If this pump just had a little more pumping to it Id give it 5 stars. Doesnt give good water agitation but does its job for what i needed, So 4stars for working well enough.

Just stopped working.
It was great until it wasn’t. Filter just stopped working, nothing wrong with it that I could tell/find. I was lucky enough to have a back up filter but I sometimes have to travel a day or two for work (occasionally a week) and I can’t imagine what that would have done to my tank.

Quit working after two weeks
I originally purchased the Hygger double sponge filter with an air pump, which is similar in build. However, my husband complained that the air pump was too loud, so I purchased this filter so we wouldn't need an air pump. This was a nice filter when it worked, but it quit working after two weeks. I cleaned the sponge filters weekly in tank water and reused these sponges and media in the Hygger, which is a similar sponge filter that utilizes an air pump. I switched to the NICREW Nano Silent Aquarium Air Pump, which is very quiet and works perfectly with the Hygger sponge filter.

Meh.
I got it for a snail tank when I was selling snails. It worked fine for a while. Went to plug it in today and it did nothing. Gonna try it with an air pump I guess.

it's a good sponge filter
I like that it comes with two sponges, and two little canisters with bio media for it. I use this in conjuction with another sponge filter, and seachem bio media in the filter. I wish the flow rate is higher, but it will do. I mainly wanted this to be another source for beneficial bacteria to grow. Having additional bio media rocks is definitely a plus. The instructions was pretty straightforward. One thing lacking if if you want to connect airhose to it to increase oxygen in the aquarium like I do, it doesn't mention it at all. I happen to see a video of airpump connecting to it, and that's when I saw where to connect the airhose to. I am happy with it so far.
