honestly worked way better than i thought it would at filtering out smells, dampened the noise of my fan & the airflow is great even with the cover ! the Carbon really does its job :)

This is a game changer. Looks amazing and the build quality is top notch. the air flow is great even with the sleeve on it. this isn’t the cheapest filter on the market but you pay for what you get, and this speaks for itself. I use this to get rid of the smell of my plants and it completely eliminates the odor. however i actually bought a second one to use for my soldering station to filter out the lead smell and possibly particulates from the air above my work station and it seems to be doing the job perfectly. this not the cheapest, but certainly the best 4 inch filter on the market.

this works on my counter to absorb the oil smoke while cooking，i still use a seperate air fan to support it ，it runs directly when plug in，it would be better if there would be a button to control

I set this up as a venting system for my Uniformation GT3 Ultra printer, and the way it handles fumes is excellent. The charcoal bed is thick enough that it completely scrubs the air, so those chemical smells don't stand a chance of taking over the room. It has a sturdy steel mesh design that allows for great airflow, and I really like that the pre-filter cloth is detachable so you can keep it clean. It’s a simple, effective piece of gear that connects easily to 4-inch ducting and works exactly like it should.

So for starters, I am using this with a six inch inline fan connected with a reducer fitting to make a DIY air purifier, I have no idea how this performs with the 4 inch fan as I assume that's what most people pair this with. My purifier is an extraordinarily basic design, but it is the activated charcoal in it that really makes it special. It has been able to filter just about any bad smell/VOC I've come across and has cleared my 300 sq/ft garage of spray paint fumes in less than 10 minutes (granted the small door was open but I was still impressed). Also I painted the closet in my bedroom and neither my girlfriend or I could smell a thing sitting barely 10 feet away when we had it between us. So this filter really works as far as I can tell, sadly I do not have any air quality monitoring devices on hand to make a confirmation. I'm not entirely sure how to check if the charcoal needs replacing so I can't say too much about longevity just yet, however I have been using my home-made air purifier almost daily for a good 4-5 months now and it seems to still be doing a pretty good job. With how much I use spray paint, epoxy, and solvents I'm fairly impressed it's helped protect me from all the breathing buddies for this long.

Time will tell about smell. Really liked the buckle straps that came with it. Made install a breeze. If I had 4 self taping screws and some aluminum metal ducting tape would of gone with that. Seems like another great vivosun product. Running a Topogrow 315 watt Ceramic Metal Halide. Will be adding a small cheap led during bloom to enhance spectrum. Update: This filter really does the job. Have a 4x4 tent filled with Garlic Cookies at 7 weeks and not a smell outside the tent. This stuff really stinks too. Great job Vivosun! Really gives you peace of mind. I am in a legal state. About the 315 watt ceramic Topogrow light. No need to add a led light. My buds are total frost. In fact I don't think there is a LED made that performs like this Ceramic metal halide. I mean it is impressive. A 630 watt cmh is way too much light for my 4x4 vivosun grow tent. In closing just wanted to mention a 4x4 flood and drain table with 4 inch rockwool cubes would be a interesting grow. Running 4 10 gallon fabric pots with Foxfarm ocean forest soil with the Foxfarm trio.

Ich nutze diesen Aktivkohlefilter seit einiger Zeit in meiner Growbox und war anfangs etwas enttäuscht, weil trotz laufendem Lüfter und korrekt angeschlossenem Filter noch deutlich Gerüche wahrnehmbar waren. Zuerst dachte ich, der Filter wäre nicht leistungsfähig genug oder hätte einen Defekt. Nach einiger Recherche und einigen Anpassungen an meinem Setup habe ich jedoch festgestellt, dass das Problem nicht am Filter lag. In meinem Fall war die Luft im Zelt einfach zu trocken. Mir war vorher nicht bewusst, wie stark die Luftfeuchtigkeit die Leistung eines Aktivkohlefilters beeinflussen kann. Nachdem ich Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit besser eingestellt hatte, wurde die Geruchskontrolle deutlich besser. Seitdem erledigt der Filter seine Arbeit zuverlässig und die Gerüche werden größtenteils neutralisiert. Das war letztendlich genau das, was ich erwartet hatte. Die Verarbeitung macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Der Filter wirkt stabil, die Anschlüsse passen sauber und auch der mitgelieferte Vorfilter erfüllt seinen Zweck. Die Montage war unkompliziert und innerhalb weniger Minuten erledigt. Wer einen Aktivkohlefilter kauft, sollte meiner Meinung nach nicht nur auf den Filter selbst achten, sondern auch auf die Rahmenbedingungen im Growzelt. Temperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit, Luftstrom und die richtige Dimensionierung spielen eine größere Rolle, als viele Anfänger denken. Genau das habe ich selbst erst im Laufe der Nutzung gelernt. Deshalb vergebe ich 4 Sterne. Der Filter funktioniert gut und hält Gerüche zuverlässig zurück, wenn die Umgebungsbedingungen stimmen. Einen Stern ziehe ich lediglich ab, weil ich mir gewünscht hätte, dass dieser Zusammenhang mit Luftfeuchtigkeit und Filterleistung etwas deutlicher erklärt wird. Insgesamt bin ich aber zufrieden und würde ihn wieder kaufen. 🌬️👍🌱

Dit filter geplaatst als vervanging van een canfilter dat na ca 1 jaar geen geur meer opnam. De geur was daarna inderdaad onmiddelijk verdwenen. Echter na ca. 2 dagen was de geur weer steeds duidelijker waarneembaar. Filter erg snel verzadigd?

Das Produkt wurde im Oktober 2024 gekauft. Anfangs bestand eine gewisse Skepsis, da zuvor noch keine Berührungspunkte mit einer vergleichbaren Lösung vorhanden waren. Umso positiver fällt das Fazit aus. Es erfüllt genau den vorgesehenen Zweck: Gerüche dringen nicht nach außen. Die Aktivkohle scheint zuverlässig zu arbeiten und sorgt dafür, dass nichts durchkommt. Die Wirksamkeit ist wirklich beeindruckend und so in dieser Form nicht unbedingt zu erwarten gewesen. Zur Haltbarkeit der Aktivkohle lässt sich naturgemäß nur der bisherige Zeitraum bewerten. Über einen Zeitraum von rund 12 Monaten traten keinerlei Probleme auf – es waren keine Gerüche wahrnehmbar und die Funktion blieb konstant erhalten. Insgesamt ein überzeugendes Produkt mit klarer Weiterempfehlung.

I bought a Carbon Filter from Phresh and it literally lasted 3 months- I started another grow and the smell wasn't being scrubbed and my fan was using everything to try to get the air through. I looked at the inside and the Phresh filter only had a household filter in it with (looked like) one side of the filter sprayed with carbon. I ordered Vivosun and they pack the filter with actual carbon. The difference in weight between the two was unreal and the Vivosun filter was longer in length. Came with the straps and a coupon for 10% off next purchase. I gave it four stars only because the flang on the filter wouldn't fit over my fan so I had to tape it. Looks like they made their filters to fit snug with their fans...but with tin tape it stays on and works. I will update after a few months. So far it works great! Thanks Vivosun!
