I bought this fridge for my semi because the room was limited. These are a great buy worthy every penny. It’s durable and reliable I never have to worry about temp it’s, no different then using my home fridge. I really appreciate its quality. I’ve used it for over a year now and I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a good fridge for truck or rv

I LOVE this fridge! I have a Costway 58 qt. and BougeRV 53 qt. that I use for my fifth wheel (one dedicated for refrigerator and the other for freezer). However, purchasing refrigerated items in town and eventually returning home has always been a challenge. I finally got one just for my van and I am really kicking myself for not getting this one earlier. It is perfect. It's light weight and really cools down quickly. I have used it with my Bluetti EB3A when I know I'll be making more stops. Otherwise I plug it into my van's 12 volt. I decided to get the cover/jacket for the unit and that does a fantastic job of keeping the temperatures steady when the fridge is not being powered. This is the case when I am using the van's 12 volt which only works when the engine is running. I also love how light this unit is. I can easily move around in my van and lift without any effort - at least when there is no food in it. BougeRV is certainly making a reputation for themselves. My 53 qt has worked flawlessly for the past 12 months of using it full-time and not this 23 qt is living up to the same standard. These are great refrigerators and I highly recommend the 23 quart and also the optional cover that enhances its temperature maintenance and fits the unit perfectly. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend this refrigerator!

5 stars but 1 flaw: After over a month of testing in various situations including in a hot car, while driving, on the porch, and inside, I came to the conclusion that I can solidly recommend this to people. Bad things first. The insulation is thin. Its a fridge, not a cooler designed to hold ice for 5 days. It isn't gonna keep stuff cold when powered off for 12 hours. In an on/off setup such as driving a ways then going into a store it was still cool enough when I came out to know my perishables were not going to perish. Start the day with it filled with frozen water bottles or ice blocks and remove them as you need more room. Worked great. Pair it with a small power station (ecoflow river ran great) and it will run for hours on that and hold temp well. A 3 hour road trip with hours in the middle of shopping and it was perfect to bring back some rare deserts and fresh meats. The big flaw took weeks to pinpoint and lots of testing. If you place a non-cooled item, such as a room temp bottle of water/soda/etc, in the front right corner of the container in a few minutes it will incorrectly register a warmer temp and turn on. This leads to a problem that if you are using it as a fridge it will plunge the inside well below freezing until that item is cooled off. If you already have cold stuff inside at a temp of 34F and the fridge is trying with all its might to cool off something that is 60F, your already cold stuff will risk freezing. Fresh fruit and veggies might be ruined. Add warm soda to a bunch of cold soda, and the cold ones might freeze and burst. Additionally this uses extra power. If anyone is having a 'higher than normal' temp reading this is likely the problem. The temp sensor is somewhere in that front wall. Having it in direct sun will have a similar result. (attached photos: the thermometer in the photo has 2 numbers, the small one is the temp) Which gets us to the good stuff. Power: At max running I've measured this to a peak draw of 65 watts, and running of less than 50. In a climate controlled area it took a few days to use 1KW of power with a 1qt block of water inside as a thermal mass. Cycle time seems good (except the issue listed above), and it is really quiet to the point it blends into the background noise. My only regret is I didn't buy the bigger one.

Cooled down quickly! Plugged overnight and did a great job cooling down. Turned it off and a few hours later, still pretty cool inside. I did have thermal cover specifically for this model and I think the combo of cooling and protection is the trick! I look forward to using this on our long drive from FL to ME. Ice cubes and ice packs are too messy for me. Or dog is diabetic and I needed something to keep her insulin cool at a consistent temperature.

It works fine. It cools from room temp to 34 in about 15 min, if I load it with cold stuff. My only complaint is with measurements. I mistakenly thought they were giving internal measurements, because THAT is what would be useful. You can't quite close the lid on an upright 1/2 gal of milk. The actual, external width and height are smaller than the description, by about 1/2". It's a good road-trip cooler. It does not stay cold long after the power is off. You can take a lunch break, but I wouldn't let it in a car more than an hour without power, and expect it to stay cold.

*Review Update 2/27/26* Someone from BougieRV reached out to me to make things right by offering to refund my order or send a replacement. I opted for a replacement and the new unit was perfect so my previous unit WAS defective. The new unit is quiet, refrigerates well, and is noticeably better than the previous unit. This refrigerator now stays in my trunk because it's been so helpful. I'm very happy with this product and the company's willingness to resolve my issue. Thank you!!! *Original Review* My biggest complaint is how NOISY this refrigerator is, yikes! I used this refrigerator in the back seat of my vehicle and it's SO LOUD to the point where I have to turn up my radio to drown it out. Maybe the noise wouldn't be as noticeable if it's in the trunk or a separate space but I hated having it in the cabin of the car with me. First there's a loud rattling/vibration noise whenever I first turn it on that sounds like something wasn't secured properly. Then when the unit gets to temperature, there's a constant high pitched whine or whistle, it sounds like someone is lightly blowing a dog whistle. These two annoying noises are not the sound of the compressor. When I reached out to customer support, they asked for a video and I provided 2 that captured the noises. They were not helpful and their response is below. They claimed that any noise up to 45 decides is fine which is ridiculous. I considered buying a tool to measure the decibels but I give up because I dont feel I should have to do that to simply get a replacement unit and they might even decline to help me as they did before. They offerred a warranty if I registered my unit but what's the point of the warranty of they're just going to say that noise is acceptable? I suspect that I have a defective unit but customer support was not helpful at all in helping me get this resolved. I didn't feel like they wanted to help me at all. Also the unit gets extremely hot if it's kept in a warm car. Then it tries to work harder and gets even hotter. The whole purpose of the cooler is to keep food cool in the car on a hot day? Overall just really disappointed with the BougieRV brand and wouldn't want anyone to deal with an annoyingly loud refrigerator like the one I have. "Dear Customer: Thank you for providing the video. This is the sound of the refrigerant flow and part of it is the sound of the compressor operation. If the sound is less than 45 decibels within a one-meter distance, it is normal. Please rest assured that we have a two-year warranty period, and you can register for an extended warranty for a three-year warranty period."

I use this in my semi to keep food and drinks cold. This unit is very quiet and works amazing! I've only had it about a week at this time so I can't speak for long term yet. It holds a couple days worth of food and drinks. The larger size is believe is just a little taller. I leave this unit running thru the week and so far I haven't had issues with it draining my batteries. I do shut it off on the weekends. So far I'm very happy with it. I will update my review if anything changes.

First things first: when you receive the fridge, make sure to keep it upright and let it sit for at least 24 hours longer is even better before turning it on. This is really important to avoid damaging the compressor. The settings are straightforward and easy to adjust to your preferences. I tested it, and it cools down very quickly. I love not having to worry about ice just plug it into the car, and it’s ready for grocery runs. It fits perfectly in the trunk of my car. Camping with this fridge is a breeze. If you pair it with a portable power station like EcoFlow or Jackery an 800Wh battery plus two 200W solar panels you can have unlimited freezing power for the weekend. I’m also planning to get the recommended cover, which helps regulate the temperature even more. Overall, it’s a convenient, high-performing fridge that’s perfect for travel, camping, and tailgating.

Was great for a cross Canada trip. Kept our food nice and cool. Came home and it suddenly just stopped working. Very disappointed, especially with all the great reviews. I was hoping to use this for years to come. Oh well. Update: The seller stepped up and sent us a new one. So far it's been working fantastic with no issues. I've been testing it for a couple weeks as a backup freezer and am able to keep things at -18 with no problem!

I have a Dodge Grand Caravan camper conversion and my husband built slide-out drawers/bed conversion. So we had a fixed height and I realised my old cooler was not going to cut it. I struggled to find a low profile real fridge and just could not believe the price of an actual real fridge/freezer with precise temperature control. Unreal. The build is great quality, handle grips make it easy to manoeuvre, the imprinted instructions on the lid mean you are never left trying to remember what each control is for. While not relevant to the mighty Dodge Grand Caravan, the ability to set a battery max. draw level is supreme too. The hum of the fridge is barely discernible (and I am a light sleeper) and the eco and max modes are just so flexible: use max when you are in a rush to hit the road, and use eco on the road. What I do like is, when you start up the car, it will give one beep to confirm it is connected. When not connected I like the Rocksolar battery system as it is also smaller but powerful. Using reflective window coverings will keep internal temp down and save your battery. This will fit a soy milk carton upright so that's a huge win right there. If you need a low profile yet spacious fridge/freezer this is it. We have a bus conversion and it came with Dometic fridge/freezer and, yes, they are bigger (as is the bus) but we cannot see a difference in quality. Great intuitive and user-friendly settings. P.S. Remember this can ONLY be a fridge OR freezer at any one time. I'm planning on getting a heavy duty non-plug in cooler and moving over everyday food items couple days at a time to the cooler, keeping this as a freezer.

Product arrived well packed. Fit and finish seems very good and the overall appearance and quality seem very good. The temperature variance seemed to be within spec at 5 degrees. I ran it for 2 days on AC and 1 day on DC. The noise from the compressor is very modest. The controls are very visible, however to avoid accidently changing them each change needs to be proceeded by an unlock pressing of the settings menu. You just need to get used to it. I have a larger 45 liter model from a different brand that I decided was to big and heavy for weekend or hotel traveling so I went with the 23 liter but was tempted with the 30 liter. So will see how it works in practice. The brand seems reliable and they certainly speak up for customer service witch is important as I understand these things are pretty much impossible to get repaired. For what I paid i'm willing to take the chance.
