Fun, Reasonably Priced Hobby Boat
For plain bang for your buck, this boat really cannot be beat. It is well-constructed, fast, and turns on a dime. You really need a good size pond to get the full potential from this boat. It has good range on the remote. The self-righting feature works very well when the boat rolls over. Just hit reverse, hit forward, and hit full throttle and the boat pops right over, even with a heavy 5200 mAh battery in it. The boat has fully proportional throttle control and steering. It has throttle trim adjustment and rudder trim adjustment on the remote control. The result is that you have excellent control over the boat. It also has manually adjustable trim tabs in the back. I bought this for my eight year-old son and with some instruction and help he is able to use it by himself and has a ton of fun with it. It will also keep an adult occupied. The seller's page on Amazon could use some help. This is especially true in the extra battery department. For those that are looking and having a hard time finding what extra battery to buy, then here is the scoop. The boat comes stock with a 2500 mAh 3S 11.1v Lipo battery with an XT60 connector. If you are looking for extra batteries, then my testing came to this conclusion. You can fit an Hoovo 5200 mAh 3S 11.1v Lipo in the boat and still wrap the velcro battery strap about the battery. The link is here https://www.amazon.com/HOOVO-Battery-Softcase-Airplane-Helicopter/dp/B08YR15KQ8?ref_=ast_sto_dp That is the biggest that I could get to fit. If you use that battery, then the boat will sag to the left in the water and while running it will tend to make a left-hand loop instead of running straight. This tendency can be fixed by adjusting the rudder trim with the buttons on the remote. With the stock battery the runs straighter and is better balanced, but obviously you are going to have about half the running time. On the stock battery, if you are not full throttle the whole time, you will probably get 10 minutes out of it maybe more. What I would recommend for extra batteries is that you get the Hoovo 2200 mAh 3S 11.1v battery and just have more of them on hand for longer playing time. The link is here https://www.amazon.com/HOOVO-Connector-Helicopter-Airplane-Quadcopter/dp/B07MQT6YJN?ref_=ast_sto_dp As far as C ratings on the batteries I would not go above 80C to protect the stock electronics and motor. Another thing to note is that battery hatch does not seal perfectly. I solved this by simply coating the stock battery compartment seal with Dielectric grease. After our outing with the stock battery and 5200 mAh battery, which amounted to about 30 minutes or more of playing around, including 3 different rollovers, we had only a drop or two of water in the motor compartment when sealed with Dielectric grease. Overall, I would say that you will not be disappointed with how it comes out of the box and with a couple extra batteries you or your kids can have loads of fun.

This thing rips!!!
I’m an r/c veteran, but this is my first boat and I couldn’t be happier! To be clear, I have the carbon fiber looking one with the all aluminum hardware, updated esc, and 3s/4s capability. I also followed other reviewers recommendations and lubed up the prop shaft before taking it out once. On top of that, I added a little silicone grease around the main seal for added waterproofing. It is impressively fast, and turns on a dime. I actually had to try to get it to roll upside down, and the one time I managed it, a quick reverse, then full throttle forward righted it in an instant. Range is great- by the time the “too far” warning beeps it’s almost too far away to see well. Battery compartment and strap can handle some rather large batteries, so a big 3s, or moderate 4s fits just fine. In addition to great functionality, it kind of sounds like a real powerboat/jetski.

Great entry boat! Looks good and performs well
Edit: These drift shafts do NOT have lubricant. Make sure you pull yours out and add the proper grease before a run. This boat RIPS and has a lot more potential for more. This boat comes with a 3S lipo battery rated at 2200 mah. The gear is nice — prop is 40mm and is around 1.4” pitch. The adjustment capability is great, offering exceptional stability in the glassy water I initially threw this into. At full speed I was able to make full, sharp turns without flipping this over. The motor is around 3540. On 3s I’d say it runs between 25 - 30 mph. I’m really interested in getting a 4s battery and 1.7” pitch prop to see what I can get out of it. The remote is great, looks and feels fairly good. Does have a low battery alert. I didn’t get too far out — obviously in the video it was a cold day. Maybe later this year I’ll test the range. This boat also came with a variety of tools which is great. The receiver is incased in a plastic mostly sealed container. There’s a bit of foam on the bow. The esc appear pretty loose, not mounted. Battery sits on the same side giving a bit of lean port side. This likely helps with the self righting which worked well when I did test. After a full run including reverse I opened the boat to see no water. What is pictured is a few drops of rain from my day. Overall great entry boat, easy to use, and the lights are a cool party trick.

Awesome boat out of the box. $60 metal upgrade kit for $60 takes it to another level in durability and performance. It's super fast, Large and alot of fun. I highly recommended buying at least 2 extra batteries.

Please do not buy this boat
I saw a youtube review by a husband and wife team that I trusted who shows the best aspects of the boat. I bought it based upon the review. I only was able to sale the boat only. It is fast actually very fast. It was the best 3:30 second of r/c boating I have experienced. While using the boat the range was less than 100 yards . I have a Harbour Freight boat that has double the range. That is right the boat only lasted 3 and 1/2 minutes, then the controller signaled that the battery was low and place the boat in 1/4 speed to ensure the boat was able to return to shore. Back in my home I opened the hatch and found 1 or 2 drops of water (excellent). I also found the battery connection fused and would not release. I checked the reviews and found one owner that had the boat catch on fire, so this was not a 1 off issue. I happily returned the boat. Please do not waste you time with this model.

Water leaks inside boat hull
I bought a new red boat and tried it 3 times. water leaked inside the hull each time. It reaches Lipo battery, motor and other components. I had to unplug the rubber plug to drain water after each drive. I dried the boat each time. I inspected boat body but nothing obvious. I even put plastic bag around both top covers to insure no water leaks from there. Yet, water is found inside with each drive. Cooling water tubes dont leak air when I blow air while closing the other end with my finger. I cant say it is safe to drive the boat in this condition. It is a high risk to LiPo batter, transmission device and motor. I will ask a question for the supplier to advise what can be done to fix it. Meanwhile, ill keep my review. I will update it if I got a positive response. The boat speed and handling is great. I would give it five stars rating if water leak issue is resolved.
