Great for the price, would recommend to anyone that needs this type of light
Extremely bright but very light so barely notied it when I had to use the head strap. The magnet is also very useful to fix the light to a metal surface for hands free use. Charges quickly and does seem to last a very long time. I think it took maybe 30 minutes to charge and lasted over 2 weeks with about 1 hour of use each day. The only thing to watch out for is accidentaly pressing the on button when putting it in your pocket. It gets extremely hot very quickly if this happens but did not seem to affect anything, no noticed battery life issues or anything.

A nice heavy-duty headlamp for trekking that you can depend on
A good, heavy headlamp suitable to trekking, where you're not worried so much about weight as when you're backpacking. The lamp with battery installed weighs 4.9oz on a lab scale, not 4.37oz as the item title states. When you install the cloth headband, it jumps to 5.6oz, but it's already heavy. I charged up the headlamp to 100% power and then ran it continuously for 16h on medium brightness, far longer than the claimed 10h (perhaps the battery will lose efficiency in time, but that's a real measurement). The lamp itself is made of aluminum, and the caps screw on with a firm tightness that is reassuring. The on/off switch requires a real press, not just an accidental nudge, to turn on, making it unlikely to turn on when inside a belt pocket on a backpack or in a jostled suitcase. The headband attachment that holds this aluminum metal cylinder appears to be made of a super sturdy plastic that seems almost ceramic; hard to say what it is exactly, but that cylinder rotates firmly to adjust the light angle and keeps its angle solidly, and there is no chance it's going to slip out of that holder. There are two headbands that come with this-- one made of a rubber-like material (waterproof?) and another made of cloth that is more comfortable (and can dry out just fine). This is a really well-built headlamp that will be able to take a beating along the trail. There are three light intensities that are good for trekking, and the adjustable (turnable) lens does indeed narrow or broaden the light. Medium is just fine for hiking along a typical trail without lots of obstacles or required fancy footwork. High is good for when you're in trouble or doing a full-blown night hike in the mountains. (If you do this, bring an extra headlamp as a backup; you never know what might happen on these.) The unit stays cool when running, though charging it from exhaustion does cause the aluminum unit to get warm; not out of control hot, but it's definitely working. I'd definitely recommend this, again not for ultralight, but for when you're hiking a little heavier. It is sturdy, has endurance, and has the features I need when hiking in the dark. The best headlamp I own.
This light changed my night hiking experience! This unit is extremely durable. As a Marine, this reminds me of milspec gear that I would use in the Corps. It has a very solid metal chassis and a great hand feel when unscrewing the caps or dialing in the light. It's also water proof or extremely water resistant, as I've used it in the rain several times without issue. Being able to adjust both the angle and the light coverage (narrow beam, area flood light, or something in between) is an absolute game changer. Couple that with a very positive feel as you adjust and dial in your preference and this thing simply rocks! It requires very little attention and becomes second nature. This thing lights up the area like it's daytime. The power button is extremely easy to find and use as well. It is a smidge heavier then some of my lightweight or ultralight headlamps (ie. Nitecore) but the battery life is phenomenal and the ease of use combined with the amount of light is top-notch. Finally, the rechargeable battery that is built in is awesome. Not only is there a USB-C recharge port on the unit that allows the battery to be recharged without taking it out but the battery itself can be removed and recharged also via USB-C. That also means you can have backup batteries, pre-charged that can be taken on a hike or camping trip. This thing's built to last and even though I was hesitant because the price point I'm extremely happy with the purchase!

Solid light
I am pleasantly surprised at the quality and features. It’s easy to turn on/off, and cycle through the brightness levels. It initiates on medium which works great for me since I always use medium or high. For boost mode, you hold it down which I figured out without using it. I am using it to tattoo and the battery life is great, and I love that you can put in backup batteries in addition to the rechargeable battery. It’s comfortable enough to forget about. I also like the built in magnet for use at work and working on cars that have steel parts. My other headlamp that rhymes with pretzel has too many modes and is always frustrating trying to find the setting I need, plus the battery kept dying near the end of my sessions. It is a little lighter but this lamp is comfortable on my head for many hours. The brightness seems accurate for the lumen rating, and I feel like I got a nice product for the price.

Great headlamp, but too heavy for running
Not for running, unless you like a somewhat heavy metal light banging on your forehead. Despite how tight you adjust the headband, the weight doesn't make it good for a running headlight. BUT.....it is great for everything else - hiking, camping, utility work (under a vehicle, crawlspace, etc). Very bright. Magnetic base is a great feature, I find myself using that more than expected. Very well made and durable. Holds a charge well. Overall good value, just not a good one to run with.

My “go-to” headlamp for almost every need
This review is for the Coast XPH30R. This 1500 Lumen Headlamp is my go-to light for nearly everything that requires my hands to be free when I need light. Coast has a great reputation and I consider this company top-tier. I’ve been using 2 different headlamps from Coast for many years now. I literally keep this headlamp right by my bed. I live in earthquake country and should we get “the big one” at night while sleeping, the idea of having this within arms reach, the ease to quickly put this on, have plenty of light with one click, ~~AND HAVE MY HANDS FREE~~ is massive for me. I was in the 1994 Northridge Earthquake and I paid the price for not having a light next to my bed. As the shaking started, we immediately lost power inside the house and the streetlights as well. It was pitch black, violent shaking, and I felt like a chicken without a head. I sincerely wish I had this lamp with me on that crazy night. Never again. I have other valuable uses for this Coast Headlamp: 1) Walking my dogs at night. It is very convenient to use a headlamp which gives me the ability to have my hands free to pick up my dogs dookie while holding onto the dog leash as well. 2) I also live in coyote country and I’ve used this lamp dozens of times at night in my frequent run-ins with coyotes. Coyotes don’t like lights shined at them and this headlamp gets plenty bright enough to annoy them and expose them. Another win for me. 3) Anything I need to do in a poorly lit area in-or-by the house that requires my hands to be free. With the lamp you have: Low, Medium, High, Moonlight, & Turbo Mode 1st click - Medium 2nd click - High 3rd click - Low 4th click - Moonlight Long Press for Turbo (You can get to Turbo Mode from any level with a long press, including from the off position) The end caps are also magnetic, so you can stick it on anything metal and it will stay. Rechargeable and replaceable batteries. It’s dust and water resistant (not waterproof). I’ve worn it out in the rain in many occasions. I wipe it dry when I’m back indoors. No issues. I keep this headlamps bigger brother in my “Go-Bag”. I also own the Coast WPH34R Headlamp. It’s waterproof and has 2000 lumens. I bought one for my wife but she thought it was too heavy, so I gave her the one I just reviewed. She loves this one as well. Can’t recommend this headlamp enough, seriously. I’m not affiliated with Coast and I purchase all my own stuff.

It's my favorite light
I love this light. It lasts me all week working in a poor lit garage. It can be very bright and the magnet works great. The two bands came in handy once I ordered a second mount. I have the rubber one attached to my bump cap and keep the other in my pocket for other jobs. Used it at night and its great. The button is great and isn't immediately falling apart like cheaper lights that I've used. you know when you've pressed the button with it's audible clicks. My only complaint is it would be nice if the button would switch to turning off the light just a hare sooner rather than changing modes. I would buy this light again with how durable it feels. Not to mention my coworker already closed a car hood on it and it's not scratched or damaged. To be clear with how durable it is it is a bit heavy when on the bump cap, I had to resort to adding wheel weights to the back of the cap to prevent it from falling forward.

The Best of the Group I Bought
Always looking to improve on my headlamp (I hike in a mountain forest at night), I bought this Coast & compared it with others (Petzl Swift, Streamlight, Fenix), & the Coast is the best of the group. The headband adjustment is easy to use. The brightness of the lights is adequate (I need to spot animal eyes glowing in the dark at about 100 yards away, as well as branches & rocks underfoot). This is a small, very lightweight unit but the construction is solid. My overall ranking of the 4 mentioned: 1) 5* Coast XPH30R, 2) 4* Fenix HM65R, 3) 4* Streamlight 89001, 4) 2* Petzl Swift Rl.

I use this to jog. It works nicely.
Usually when the sun isn't out yet I use this to go jogging. It works rather nicely. But long walks In recommend a power bank with you. Just in case.

Illumination!

Best headlamp
The best head lamp as mentioned with its dicription, after charging full the torch brights way better as expected. Best head lamp to go for but there are some unnecessary other attachments which I belive doesn't require...

Buena batería y ajustable
La batería dura mucho y es recargable. Se ajusta comodamente (también trae aditamentos para usarla con casco), el único detalle es que en uso prolongado se puede llegar a sentir caliente (normal por la potencia del LED).
