Where to start...
This one disappointed me so much. The Teaser, and the first three in the series did nothing but build the characters and leave me ready to click the purchase button immediately for the next in line, but Intentions (4) took me down so many needless paths and left me feeling ready for the end before the halfway mark of the book.Perhaps it could have been a two part series.. I don't know.It also makes a reader scratch their head at how a Operative , while blackballed on ALL FRONTS, can still manage to singlehandedly outsmart every government and criminal agency in the world repeatedly and escape each and every time despite million to one odds. Not even Mitch Rapp is that good.. or Colt Raynor.Mr Ryan, if you're out there.. keep it simple. You had me.

Noble Intentions, Season One (Supposedly No 4 in the Series)
Noble Intentions, Season One (Noble Book 4). Note the edit at the end: I read the first 3 and enjoyed the books and the character development. The situations are a bit far fetched and he seems to get into an incredible number of scrapes either deliberately or simply because he is careless, but he always gets out of the last one by some magic trick and slays his enemies. My 1 Star review for this book is that he totally deviates from the characters he has already developed in Books 1-3. Noble's sometimes GF is a tough but fair young women who is/was the daughter of Noble's CO when he was in the Marines. Noble has promised to watch out for her forever when the CO/Father was dying in Noble's arms. In Books 1-3 she was an operator/bartender at a NY neighborhood bar. Suddenly in Book 4 she is a pole dancer. In Book 3 Noble runs into a section head of the DGSE in France whom he befriends and helps out in a Terrorist situation. Pierre is the section head and ends Book 3 owing Noble a favor. In Book 4 Pierre is suddenly an assassin for hire. Does Ryan think we don't remember from book to book who his characters are? Or is the series now being ghost written by someone that simply hasn't read the first 3? Maybe Ryan has a new editor that has talked Ryan in abandoning all that has gone before to introduce more gratuitous violence in the series and change the characters from complex developed parts of the overall story to simply a placeholder for a new book. Pretty disgusting in my mind.I don't know what prompted Ryan to make Clarissa a Pole Dancer and initially call Pierre an Assassin in this beginning of this book, but I will put it up to a bout of temporary insanity. Clarissa cleared up and became a CIA agent and quit the Pole Dancing business. Pierre remained a mess and although was later mentioned as a DSGE agent really did act throughout the book as a bit of a weak assassin. But I suppose I can forgive that, so I moved my one star rating to 4 stars.

Fast paced book with likeable characters- stayed up all night to finish
After a bad day, one of life's greatest joys is to curl up with a cup of tea or glass of alcohol and get caught up in a good book. I'm on lots of medications, so for me it's a cup of tea. This book was perfect for this escape purpose. Get swept up in lots of action and likeable characters. Although I have no issue with antiheroes or people that do bad things for good reasons, making them likeable is tough. So authors sometimes add in other characters you can care about, as it's sometimes difficult to go through a whole book with no one to care about. In this book I cared about or was interested in practically everybody.I just took this book and ran with it, no deep dissecting or parsing of everything or looking for issues because this book is too enjoyable for that. I stayed up all night listening to it and considered it time well spent. It's definitely a "just one more chapter" book. I would certainly read other books about this character as well.as unrelated books from this author. My SO is reading it now and is enjoying it a lot as well. He described it as vivid and fast-paced fun. There's the occasional cliche or scene that may stretch believability a little bit. I didn't really care and neither has he because if a book is entertaining enough and those things are done in a fun-spirited way and don't bog the book down, those things don't matter so much. Read it and have a good time! I got this at a free or discounted rate in exchange for my honest review.

What Changed?
Totally agree with WK's review. I liked books 1-3 a lot. But in book 4 something changed. I'm 30 % through the book and Noble seemed justified in his adventures in books 1-3, but, in book 4 I have a hard time getting behind a central character who puts a bullet in the back of a kneeling guy's head execution style in the first 20 pages. Almost put the book down and dropped L.T. Ryan, but will finish to see if I change my mind. If you're going to build a character in a series, be somewhat consistent! Final review to come.Final Review: Upgraded to a 3 after finishing - But definitely not the quality of 1-3 - inconsistencies and loose ends. Will still order #5 - Hope it's better!

The negative reviews are spot on.
I've always said it takes three books to establish a series, and the fourth book to find its footing. This series went wayward in book three. Jack Noble lost any moral bearing he might have once possessed. That escalated in book four. Furthermore, the author does not maintain continuity from one page to the next. A character kills two and sends two more to the hospital. On the next page, his boss says four were killed. A female character who owned a bar in books two and three has turned into a stripper in book four with no explanation. Not only is she a stripper, but it is implied she is also a prostitute.Unfortunately, a slip of the finger resulted in me buying the entire series when I only intended to purchase the third book. It wasn't convenient to return it at the time, and I didn't bother since I was interested enough to purchase the third after reading the first two. Although they weren't the least bit plausible or well written, the story had promise. I regretted keeping the series before I got to the end of the third book. I deleted all the books before I got to the end of the fourth. Yes, it's that bad.

Utter Drivel
As a fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books, I downloaded this expecting it to be on similar lines - how wrong I was!The story is basically about a mid-thirties, ex-US marine and his mate who have left the services and are now hired mercenaries/assassins. Now I may have watched far too many films and have an unrealistic expectation of how they work but my understanding is that their objective is to kill their target cleanly and professionally. Unfortunately, that is not how Jack Noble and his sidekick work - they are the Laurel and Hardy of their field. They seem to bungle every job they are given and the body-count just gets higher and the story more violent.Quite frankly I lost the will to carry on reading when they were assigned the task of killing an ex-film star who had moved into the business of people trafficking. The main character makes a complete hash of it, accidentally shooting the target's wife (as his bullet goes through the target's bodyguard) and this is completely dismissed with no remorse. He then makes his escape but is filmed and therefore his mug shot appears in the papers the following day when he is travelling to the south of France for another hit! He is sharing a train carriage with some perfectly innocent travellers who are reading the papers and casually considers shooting them before they reach the page with his photograph on as he doesn't want to be recognised. SERIOUSLY is this guy just going to bump everyone off who is reading the paper on the basis he might be recognised. This is just so over the top that it is laughable.I can't actually remember if I paid for this download but I sincerely hope not! It's not often I give up on a book but this defeated me. How this author can be mentioned in the same breath as Lee Child and Tom Clancy is beyond me.Don't waste your money or your time.Oh yes and the amount of spelling errors and inconsistencies are very annoying too.

Ignoble Intentions
Having enjoyed "The Thin Line" I bought this with high expectations. What a waste of money. The flimsiest of plots, without any degree of cunning or twists and turns, was, in a word to wipe out person or persons unknown on behalf of person or persons unknown. Because of its paucity, it was padded out with chance encounters with passers-by who Jack wiped out or beat up simply because they annoyed him. This gratuitous violence was subsequently excused by giving them an unsavoury reputation. Some people on a train were at severe risk simply by reading a newspaper which might show Jack's face. "Colour" was added by sending him to France and other continental resorts, and also by introducing a cutesie, ickle, boo-eyed, flaxen haired poppet called Mandy, whom he found abandoned on the street. Yukk. We are supposed to be concerned for her safety, but she would have been better of wandering the streets. At least the story would have ended there. This is "Boy's Own" writing of the lowest quality. If multiple, unnecessary deaths and maimings appeal to you, then buy it, but if you are looking for an intelligent, well constructed thriller, keep looking.

A Good Read
I first read LT Ryan in the Thirteen Thrillers, namely Noble Intentions Episode 1. I then went on to read Episodes 2-5 in 'Noble Intentions Jack Noble Book 4'. I did find the series a little confusing as I seemed to have started somewhere in the middle.I enjoyed the book, although I did think the killing excessive in places, but a little 'skipping over' here and there doesn't distract from the story. There do seem to be a lot of bad reviews on this book, but each to their own and I will give the author a fair trial, so I have bought the next three books in the series while they are on offer and will see how things progress as to whether I will continue with the series.

Not one of his better books
I’ve liked other books in the Jack Noble series but this had two glaring faults. Firstly, it was far too long and second my disbelief had not only to be suspended but totally obliterated. I finished the book, but at times it was a struggle. On length, the story could have been cut in half and gained much. On disbelief, there is no way one human being can absorb the beatings Noble suffered and live. And why so much gratuitous violence? Was so much really necessary? The number of people Noble or his friends murdered beggared belief. No where near five stars, nearer 2.5

Pointless, repetitive and boring
Was expecting MUCH better given the number of 4 and 5 star reviews. However I found the plot weak, the characterisation unimaginative and there was just so much boring repetition. Multiple often pointless killings and I lost count of how many times a waitress apparetly fell for Noble or one of his associates over an order for coffee! Very seldom I fail to get to the end if a book but bored to tears with this one so gave up.
