VERY Pleased.
No more forgetting to turn off the aquarium light. This is easy to use. Connects to all my different tank lights. Kicks off and on. Helps keep the tank perfectly lit. Great price also. I bought 1 then purchased 3 more. So use it in all my tanks

So glad I found this!
I have several Top Fin aquariums that came as kits from Petsmart that the lights were so bright and no way to dim them. I could never keep live plants because lights were way too bright. Took a chance that these might work and they did. You can dim/brighten lights, set timer etc. and keep plants alive. So glad I found these!

Do not buy, I have had two since Dec 13, 2022, second purchased on Feb 8, 2024, both have failed!
I wrote very positive or very negative reviews only generally. This is a bad one! I have purchased two of these exact same pieces now, the first on December 13, 2022, and the current one on February 8, 2024 - BOTH HAVE BURNED OUT ALREADY! I bought the same one again, only because this piece has good reviews, and I suspected I just was unlucky and got a lemon! Nope, as both have burned out way too fast! I highly suggest you buy something else. To answer the obvious, neither have gone into the water, because I have made sure that would not happen; neither have been pulled on, so the cords were fine as they are tucked out of the way - they simply stopped working! I will never buy this fish tank light timer ever again, as it has clearly been a waste of money! I highly suggest not buying it! I even went back to check on the ratings just now, and was surprised to find them still getting a 4 star rating with 811 reviews just a moment ago! I like the concept, the ways it works - when it works, but it has poor quality electronics, and fails way too easily! Buy a different one!

Pretty Good... Until it Dies
I've had this timer for just under a year, originally purchased on May 21, 2023 (today is May 19, 2024). About a week ago I noticed my fish tank light was off after coming back from a weekend trip. I thought maybe my friend who fed my fish while I was away turned it off for some reason and reset the timer. Nope, the light was off again by the time I got home from class. I spent another day battling the timer function before giving up and deciding to just manually turn the light on and off and order a new timer. Last night, the light kept turning itself on randomly. The timer function was NOT engaged so I kept having to get up to turn it off again. My tank is in my room so it is definitely disruptive to my sleep to have the light turning on in the middle of the night. Today I ordered a new timer from a different company when I woke up this morning to the light being on again. I will be disconnecting this timer from the light system of my tank and maintaining the light manually until the new timer arrives. TL;DR: the timer lasted just under a year and the week it started dying was mildly frustrating trying to figure out what was going on. For only $10 it worked pretty well. I'm disappointed it didn't last longer but with daily use I guess a year is pretty decent. I'm ordering a better timer for future use.

Broke after 8 months
Worked great, but only lasted 8 months. I can get it to turn the light on, but only at the most dim level - which is not enough light for my fish and plants.

Does the job!
This little switch does its job masterfully. (Tip: This switch lasts about a year, not bad at all for an $11 part. No need to buy a new aquarium lamp every year . The lights themselves will last much longer than that. Just buy this switch! This part, and the lamp, AND this company, HIGHLY recommended!

Don't expect warranty honored
2 stars for working for 7 months and not breaking sooner. The timer did not turn back on when I tried to power it off to change start time. Tried to reconnect without success. It's dead. At least it worked well for 7 months, so not the end of the world. I emailed their customer service to replace under their 12 months warranty. They kept asking extremely detailed questions (which I answered) and twice insisted that I sent them a video (!) "demonstrating your setup process", even after I told them that my set up worked fine for 7 months. Not wasting my time for $10. Edit: they did not send a replacement, but issued a refund. Not what I wanted, but will take it. Added one star for resolution.

Works great! Bought 2 for my lights that only had 1 setting and no dimmer. Plus it has a timer for 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.

This is my third Aquarium Light Timer & Dimmer. It’s easy to set up, easy to use, and when it works, it performs well. I bought the first one on July 30, 2024, but after an electric outage it stopped working, so I had to replace it on March 25, 2025. I then decided to buy a third one on October 11, 2025 for a different aquarium, believing the first failure was a one-time issue. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The same thing happened again—it suddenly stopped working. This unit only lasted three months. At this point, I’m very disappointed with the durability and reliability of this product
