KV8450FM Soft Close Side Mount Drawer Slide 22"

It was challenging finding a good, long-lasting drawer slide for my customer’s cabinets. Amazon is full of cheap knock-offs, so naturally this product was buried so far I couldn’t even find it. I found the K&V slides using other websites and searched for them on Amazon specifically. Why these are buried so deeply is beyond me. These should be Amazon Recommended.Anyone saying they need to be “perfect” to work doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Cabinet work is always in the realm of perfection. No measuring with a tape measure or marking with a pencil is accurate enough for a cabinet maker, so they shouldn’t be accurate enough for a homeowner to install these. Use other tricks and tutorials online to figure it out. If they don’t work for you, it’s not the fault of the slides. Every one of 8 I installed so far work great, except one where the cabinet box was out of square. Loosening the screws and adding a shim remedied it.5 stars. These are the only soft-close drawer slides worth buying on Amazon.

The slides for a 22 inch draw seem to work fine, under 22 inches thereis not enough adjustment in the slider to compensate for any typeof slight irregularities. I would recommend Blum for 20 niche andunder draws. Be aware, sometime the back comes off and needs to bereattached. Its no easy task since the mechanism needs to be reseated.No, I haven't installed and haven't purchased any Blumsliders yet, but I can attest to Blum's quality since I used their Europeanhinges for converting 74 doors from old style hinges (which I believe arenot being used anymore in newer closets)

These slides work well. I installed 9 pairs on existing kitchen drawers. Installation instructions are clear and mounting screws are included with a few to spare. The slides come coated with a film of sticky oil which I assume must be a preservative for shipment. I needed to wash my hands after installing each pair but didn't bother cleaning off the coating. The best lube for smooth operation seems to be silicone spray. Some of the drawers took several cycles before closing automatically. They all work well now.

The company that fulfilled this order did not send any installation instructions, so I had to go to UTube to see how they handle it. This item is designed to hold up to 100 lbs. and I was replacing a much lighter variant, so I had to restructure the cabinet supports, in order to screw the slides to the cabinet. Knape and Voit make a great product

The glides were great I like the new soft clothes with these glides they seem to be a lot better than the springs. Just make sure all drawer boxes are an inch and a 16th smaller than the opening and you’ll have no issues at all

KV makes a good drawer slide, and these are good slides. Heavy duty and very firm with no slop. But the soft close feature is a complicated plastic mechanism, easily broken. When the slides are working, they are great. But when the little plastic tabs break, the soft close mechanism is finished. The slides still work well, but without the soft close feature.

Eh. It isn't the smoothest and is a little noisy. I may need to fiddle with install some more, but I did a pretty good job on it. Others I have installed with no problem.

I had an application where I wanted soft close but couldn't install a normal Blum-like under mount slide. This works OK, but is not as smooth of a user experience as the under mount Blum style slides.
