Purchased this product for a permanent installation on the face of a brick wall.Feature that I was surprised to find and like - I ran permanent wiring from inside the house through an equalizer to the powered speakers. Worked great and the equalizer gave me the ability to customize the sound I was looking for. What surprised me was that although the speakers are hardwired and may have a signal coming in on the input, you can connect with Bluetooth on your mobile device and it overrides the hardwire connection. This can be great but if you don't forget to disconnect your wireless Bluetooth in the Settings and use the "Forget this Device", every time you come into range, your Bluetooth device will connect and take over in place of the signal coming in from the hardwire connection. Provides flexibility but just need to remember that aspect.For this permanent installation and being that it is about 10ft in the air, I also added a switched outlet beside the powered speaker. I used a 2 gang box and recessed flush with the outer brick wall. One side was the switched outlet and the other side was my RCA audio connectors. Worked out great.Many other reviews had indicated problems with the powered speaker being damager due to water getting into the connection ports. My solution - I connected all of my planned wires and masked off around the recessed connection area. I set the volume to about 90% which would help prevent overdriving and clipping the audio signal. I then used a finger cot (can use the tip of a latex glove finger) to slide over the volume control knob to seal it. I then applied many coats of white PlastiDip to provide a good seal. Took a little time because of the 30 min cure time between coats. This sealed everything nicely. Then I used a little expandable foam to fill the rest of the recessed area. This serves 2 purposes. It keeps water from ponding in the recessed area given the speakers will be facing downward and it provides stability to the connection points to keep from breaking the seal. I chose coating with PlastiDip first because it technically is removable by peeling and if I ever needed to get back to a connection, the expandable foam could be removed easier. Using the latex over the volume knob allows the ability to get back to the know later if I need to and kept the PlastiDip from migrating under the knob which would prevent it from being able to be turned. I used the expandable foam that is for the small cracks so that it would not expand as much. Right after filling the cavity, I used a damp paper towel to smooth the surface and wipe away excess so that the finished foam seal was just barely above surface. Worked out great! I let it sit for a day before powering it up just to make sure there were no solvents that had not dried from the PlastiDip or Foam that could have gotten under the connector board.The speaker wire going to the passive speaker was way too short like everyone else had stated. Knowing this in advance, I had already planned to extend it another 10 feet. For the secondary (passive) speaker, I put the rubber cover over the connections and then used foil HVAC duct tape to seal the cover area.For my circumstances, I am outputting my audio from my TV (mostly for music channels) but my TV out is a constant volume level. I am using a headphone amplifier to work as my volume control which is connected between my Equalizer and powered speaker. Out from TV to equalizer to headphone amp to powered speakers. Volume outside is way more than I had originally expected, in fact it was actually too loud thus I had to use the headphone amp in order to reduce the input. The EQ had a gain control but would not go low enough. Overall, Great sound response. If just using the Bluetooth connection to a mobile device, the volume is a lot lower and at full gain on your mobile device, you will most likely hear some clipping of the audio signal (distortion). I used a secondary app on my phone to provide the custom equalizer and gain control. Works fine. (I used the Behringer AMP800 and the Behringer MINIFBQ 800)Overall, I was worried initially when I read through the various reviews but when I stepped back and analyzed what was being said, the bulk of the issues were regarding the seal of the connection area and potentially lower than expected volume when using a mobile device. There were no real complaints regarding sound quality that I had not already considered. Even without the EQ in the loop, the sound quality was fine for an outdoor speaker. At the end of the day, I have to give it 5 stars for surpassing my expectations. Now for longevity - we shall see.

I recently purchased the Pyle PDWR64BTB outdoor Bluetooth speaker set, and I’m very happy with the performance and value they deliver. For the price, these speakers punch well above their weight. The sound quality is clear and full, the build feels solid, and they have handled outdoor use without any issues so far.Installation was extremely easy — mounting the speakers took only a few minutes, and pairing via Bluetooth was quick and reliable. The Bluetooth performance is excellent, with strong connection stability and impressive volume output. For everyday use, these speakers deliver everything I need.I also tested the RCA input option for wired connections. The speakers work well in this mode, but I want to offer a mild heads-up for anyone planning to connect external devices such as media players, streamers, or audio hubs:Make sure the device you’re connecting has a strong enough line-level output voltage.Some audio sources, especially older units or certain streaming devices, output a relatively low analog signal. If the signal coming in through the RCA inputs isn’t strong enough, the volume may be much lower than expected—even with the speakers and source turned up.This may simply be a case of input sensitivity and making sure your source provides the proper signal strength. If your device’s RCA output is weak, a simple solution is to use a small preamp or an external DAC (digital-to-analog converter) to boost the signal before it reaches the speakers. Once the input signal is at the right level, the speakers perform very well.Overall, the Pyle PDWR64BTB speakers offer great sound, easy installation, reliable Bluetooth performance, and excellent value for money. Highly recommended — just be mindful of your RCA source output if you’re using wired audio.

When I hooked these up they were everything I was looking for. Sound was outstanding!Super easy to connect to phone and i was ecstatic that i made a good decision. I installed a smart outlet as there is a power knob on the backside under the removable wire cover and you can't really get to it after installed if elevated or against a wall. No problem.I installed last week and we used it off an on for 2 days.We had a couple rain storms during the week.Yesterday I went to use them and my phone paired sevices said cannot connect to pyle speakers.I started looking into it and the primary speaker wasn't powering up. I checked the cord and there was power, but the power light on speaker wasn't illuminating. I started my return woth amazon. Took the speakers down and as I started to repackage them to return I heard a sloshing sound. Turns out the "marine grade, waterproof speakers " aren't. The secondary speaker appears fine but the primary has enough water in it that it does not function. After checking negative reviews I see I am far from the 1st to experience this so back to trying to find a good waterproof bluetooth patio speaker set.If your mounting location is covered you will probably be fine with these, but not mounting in the open. I bought these so so would only have to bring inside for winter. Abject FAIL

I rate these zero stars, if you're using them in a hardwire, non-Bluetooth application, as I am, but 5 stars for appearance and sound quality.I purchased these to attach to an old non-smart TV, with a very weak sound amplifier, in my home gym (watch the news when cycling, cable music when weightlifting).Originally, I bought less expensive speakers of the same brand, without a separate volume control, thinking I could adjust it with the TV volume control, but it doesn't work that way, only having one volume...full blast!So, I went to these, strictly for the volume control feature, as I really didn't need anything this large or sophisticated.The sound is much more robust, full, and precise, than the first set, though, powerful, too, really quite excellent.They work well for my application, mounted pretty easily, and have plenty of volume (control knob is fine, if somewhat inaccessible), inside anyway, can't speak to outside, or any of the other features, such as waterproofness, etc.The included standard size RCA cable the instructions said to thread thru the hole in the bracket didn't fit, too large.Further, even if they had, and you put them thru, they'd be between the bracket and the wall, requiring the bracket to be loose and unstable, as opposed to flush against the wall.I just plugged them in, stapled the cables to the wall, and bundled the excess behind, between the speaker and the bracket, as I had to use longer cables, due to the greater space between I required, than those included.As the speakers are high on the wall, I have to use a stepstool every time I need to modify the volume, and then can do it only by touch, since it's on the back.I suggest the volume control be detented (have click stops), so you're able to return to the same settings, for various, different times.It would also be nice to have the option of a volume control, with a wire, so it could be mounted lower on the wall, separately, and within easy reach.These minor aspects of the design need modification by the manufacturer, in my opinion.3/6/25 UPDATE: Downgraded to 3 stars, as when using it hardwired, with RCA cables, Blutooth remains active, randomly stops playing for a few minutes, apparently scanning for a signal, then starts playing again. Pyle customer service offered no solution to this problem. This is a design flaw, as using it with RCA cables should overide & disable the Blutooth, or they should include a separate switch to do so.Just yesterday, they stopped playing about every 5 minutes, searching for a non-existent Bluetooth signal, making them virtually worthless to me.6/18/25 UPDATE:I've discovered a solution to the intermittent, random Blutooth scanning issue I noted above, in case any of you experience the same problem.Turn the speakers all the way off after every use, then turn the speakers on BEFORE you turn-on the source, in my case a TV.Apparently, the sequence of engagement, speakers before source, make all the difference in the world.I've not had any Blutooth interruption since I've been doing this, for about a month now, and I'm so pleased I upgraded them to 4 stars.I would give them 5 stars, if they had been engineered properly to prevent this issue from occurring in the first place, as they're really awesome, in every other regard.

I was looking for some quality Bluetooth speakers for my new Gazebo. I found plenty of options at a lower price with smaller woofers. But their reviews were mixed. One problem I found with nearly all these BT speakers is they over state their Wattage. They play games with Peak Power not RMS which is a more realistic measure of power. So I decided to spend a little more on a well know brand that has been in business for decades, Pyle, though they also state the power as 800 Watts which should shack the house down.I received them and was surprised as how big, heavy and well constructed they are. They were very easy to mount. I turned them on, paired them with my Cellphone to play music and was pleasantly surprised on how loud they can get with excellent sound quality. Very good highs and decent base even for a 6.5 inch woofer. I did get one big surprise. My phone battery was getting low so I took my phone into the house to charge. The BT remained connect from inside my house through an exterior wall that it stucco (cement) all the way to the Gazebo about 30 feet away. So if I want, I can leave my phone on its charger and broadcast music all the way to a Gazebo.Only 2 issues I had was 1) The passive Speaker wire they included was too short and too small a gauge wire, so I replaced it with a better RCA connector and 16 gauge wire. 2) The Bluetooth pairing acknowledgment signal is very loud and annoying. I use my Cell phone to broadcast my music to the speakers so I have to repair them each time I go to the Gazebo. The volume control on the speaker is hard to reach once installed so I leave it at maximum and control the volume from my cellphone. So when they pair, which is automatic when they are near each other, it pairing acknowledgment signal is very loud. Neither of these issues were worth lowering my rating from 5 stars because the positives really far outweigh these two issues.One side note: When mounting theses speakers in a semi-enclosed structure like a Gazebo the sound is well contained in Gazebo. So I can really turn up the volume without irritating the neighbors.

Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed with the quality of the enclosures - smooth rounded edges, and parts fit well together, no rattling of components. The power cord is noticeably short, and I wish it were about 18 inches longer. The slave to master speaker wire is a small gauge wire and limited in length. For my application (speakers spaced about 6 feet apart), it was long enough, but others might need to find a replacement wire.I first set them on a table top and connected to my wired sound source for testing. I must say, this initial test was not a pleasant listening experience... boomy bass, indistinct cymbals, and a midrange that was fatiguing to listen too. I would caution others to NOT be too concerned with the sound with speakers in this arrangement (see photo with cat). These speakers are not designed for bookshelf or table placement. You will be SURPRISED how much BETTER they sound when properly mounted from a wall or ceiling using the brackets that came with them! They are not nearly so boomy and the midrange not nearly so fatiguing when mounted.The volume control knob is inconvenient to access. Personally, I would prefer mounting on the side or front, rather than the rear location behind the removable access cover. It also has a limited amount of adjustment (the arc range of the knob is considerably less than 360 degrees) and is a small knob. There are no tone adjustments. As I already stated, they sound MUCH better when properly mounted, but I am still not quite satisfied with the equalization. At the suggestion of another reviewer, I have ordered a line-level 9-band equalizer so that I can adjust the tone to my liking, but I have not received and installed it yet.Regarding the power output specification - I can only image that the 400 W RMS rating is the power capability of the speakers themselves. It is not anywhere near the power capability of the built-in amplifier for audio content. I placed an AC wattmeter inline with the power cord for the speakers, then delivered a loud, demanding music (the AC/DC song "Thunderstruck") feed via the wired inputs to the speakers from my cellphone. A better test would be a pink noise generator with a measurable RMS level for the input. If another reviewer has access to such equipment, I would welcome seeing such a review. In my setup, the RMS power consumed by the Pyle PDWR64BTW system was 34 Watts. Recognizing the laws of thermodynamics, the amplifier will naturally dissipate some amount of power as heat, as will the speakers. So the available audio power can only be somewhat less than the 34 watts consumed in my test. I would caution readers that they should not expect anywhere near 400 watts of audio from this system, based on my test results. For my installation inside a porch, these 34 watts are quite sufficient. For an outdoor installation, I might be underwhelmed.PROS: solid craftsmanship, nice fit and finish, easy to install, nice soundCONS: limited volume control, no tone control, low power output for the "400 watt" rating

I was looking to move up from a large portable bluetooth speaker (G-Boom) to stereo sound in my side yard cookout/hangout area. The area is roughly 30 feet by 50 feet. The more I researched, the more I found that there are not many options in an outdoor bluetooth stereo speaker setup. The reviews for these speakers were not as good as some other options, but I knew that I wanted 6.5" bass drivers to get as much volume and low frequency response as possible in a medium sized speaker. These were an open box deal so they were almost half the usual price.Upon opening the package I was pleased with the size and heft of the speakers. They are also fairly attractive and understated. The brackets were a since to mount using the included washers with some wood screws that I already had, and the speakers quickly connect to them with the included thumb screws, so no tools are required once the brackets are in place. The quick connect speaker wires are nice too, because it means that the whole setup (minus the brackets, which remain in place) can be put up or taken down in about 30 seconds. Because of this, I will probably not be testing their waterproof-ness. It's just so easy to take them inside when I'm not using them.The Bluetooth range is approximately 60 feet outdoors, which is ample for my needs, and I can't say that the blue light that bothers some users was an issue for me, though a piece of black tape or some black spray paint could end that concern easily.Now to the important part...sound quality. I first tried these indoors and was surprised by the sheer volume they output. The sound is definitely focused on midrange and treble, but with solid bass fill and surprisingly good bass extension for their size. The overall sound quality is crisp and clear with no background hum or buzz even at full volume. These speakers offer plenty of volume and sound quality to be satisfying for movies, music, or games when indoors. Next I tried them outdoors. Again, the volume was ample enough to be heard clearly at the back of my yard, which is about 70 yards from the sdpeakers. The bass output is a little bit shy of what I hoped for after hearing them indoors, but that is just the reality of putting speakers in an outside environment. I wouldn't say that it is poor though. One can only expect so much from outdoor-rated 6.5" bluetooth speakers with a built in amp for under $100, and these really deliver when that is considered. I may also try an EQ app to help dial in the sound to my environment.Overall, I am very satisfied with these speakers. They are cheap, connected to my iphone without any issues, and sound great. I will update my review if my opinion of these changes, but unless they totally fail I think these are a wonderful deal whether used indoors or out.

Fantastic speakers. Look great and perform well enough. Punchy sound and definitely weather proof.Added bonus of being active so doesn't need an amplifier.The only criticism is the Bluetooth range is a little limiting.
