Fantastic oil. Makes for great firearm cleaning after use. The smell takes you by surprise at first, but it's an acquired smell. Now it just smells like a clean and high functioning firearm to me.

I've been using this for a while now on various firearms. It works great on patches or wire brushes down the bore. Also works great as a spray and wipe cleaner. It's very gentle and does not damage wood or plastic. This is a great all-around cleaning and protecting product, great for people who don't like to use all the different chemicals for cleaning, lubricating and polishing on their firearms but just want to keep them clean and looking good.

I used to use “WD-40”; being that everyone knows about the product. You have to use a lot of WD-40, but it doesn’t always get the cleaning done with tools such as linemans or wire snips. Getting that packing grease out of these tools is not easy. Then one day at work, a buddy let me use his Ballistol. After I sprayed down my linemans with Ballistol, the packing grease came right out! I was truly shocked on how quick this happened! Ever since then, I never went back to WD-40 and always used Ballistol instead. Now every time I see other tool handlers having trouble with WD-40 or some other cheap brand out there, I let them use my Ballistol. They always get as surprised as I was when I first used it. Granted that it cost more than WD-40, but CERY well worth every penny!

I've gone through a bunch of different gun-cleaning products and I kept coming back to my Ballistol. At one point I got the spray bottle but I prefer these aerosol cans. Pros: Scent - The anise/black licorice scent is pleasant compared to the other cleaners I've used. My wife would give me an awful look when I used other cleaners in the house, but she actually likes the scent of this stuff. Keep in mind that if used heavily in an enclosed room it can become overpowering, so please be sure to use in a well-ventilated area. Cleans well - I spray this all over my firearms after each trip to the range and let it soak a bit before wiping off. Really breaks down the carbon deposits from dirtier ammo like .22lr. Safe for skin - No need for gloves with this stuff. You can get it all over your hands and it cleans right off without irritation. Cons: - Burns off too easily to be my preferred lubricant. During rapid-fire drills my firearms become pretty toasty and this stuff seems to burn away and I also have noticed more wear marks when I've used it as my primary lubricant. - The smell is not for everyone. If you read online forum discussions, people love it or hate it. It was a bit overpowering when I kept it on my EDC as a lubricant. I would smell it all day as I sat in my office, and that got old pretty quickly. Since I no longer leave it on after my cleanings it doesn't bother me anymore. I love cleaning and lubing my firearms. For me it is almost a ritual the evening after a range session. I have used many different products and I have no problem admitting that they all do pretty much the same thing. I just like the smell of this stuff and that I don't have to worry about it getting on my skin. After I'm done cleaning with it I just wipe it all off the firearm components and then treat them with Hoppe's Lubricating Oil for a lube+protectant. That combo has worked perfectly for me with no issues.

Man this stuff is great! Delivery was right on time as usual. Had heard about this stuff in my grgun magazines so finally tried it works great on all parts of the guns not oily feeling also made to wood look great.. A lil pricey but well worth it a can will last a long time my new go to.l may use it on my truck..lol can't go wrong..TRY IT . Guns ain't cheap this will keep them n great shape m looking new

Best lubricant ever

This cleaner works well for cleaning all firearms. It works great on metal without worrying about harming the metal. What is great on rifles I can clean the outside of the barrel and don’t have to worry about harming the wooden stock and hand grip which you can also clean the Ballistol.

Perfection in a can. if Hickok45 uses it, then it's good enough for me.
