Fiebing's Golden Mink Oil Leather Conditioner

This is great quality mink oil. I put it on my leather boots to condition the leather and make it waterproof. It repels water quite well. It keeps my leather boots from drying and cracking. It darkened the leather a little bit and actually made it look better. I completely coated the first boot with a thick layer of this mink oil and let it soak in while I applied it to the other boot. Removing the laces first is very important. After applying it to the second boot, I went back to the first and wiped off the excess and it was perfectly conditioned. Then I repeated the wiping/polishing process for the 2nd boot. It soaked in quickly. Afterwards, I put the laces back in and the boots look perfect and they are waterproof and soft. I will be using this mink oil on my next pair of leather boots. It works well and lasts a long time, and if you love your leather, you will condition it with mink oil or it will dry out and crack eventually. This was a great price for such a high quality mink oil, and a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this Mink oil.

Love this oil. I used this on an older leather jacket & it brought it back to life. I also used it on a chair restoration on which I used Fiebings leather dye. Let this oil sit for almost two full days on the chair & then buffed it with some wool pads I bought here as well. It really helped the old & brittle leather.

I was hoping that the 6 0z. container would contain enough product to treat a pair of Men's size 12 medium height work boots. Six ounces doesn't sound like much but once I began working on the first boot and realized how much coverage a small amount treated I knew I would have plenty to do the pair. I should note that these were new unworn boots. Once I had treated the above mentioned pair and saw how nice they turned out, I thought, "Well I have barely touched the contents of the Mink Oil's 6 ounces", so I drug several pair of older, well worn, and dried out leather boots and went to work on them. THIS PRODUCT TOOK TO DRY LEATHER LIKE A DUCK TO WATER! Beautiful absorption and coverage on a thirty year old pair of DANNER high top hunting boots brought the boots back to "NEW CONDITION"! I am extremely pleased with the results! AND, the MINK OIL container is still almost full! Next in line are my motorcycle boots and I anticipate wonderful results from the MINK OIL on them as well. Then I will treat my WOLVERINE and SOREL hunting boots. Once all my boots are done I will treat several pair of leather gloves before I treat my leather holsters and gun cases. THIS STUFF WORKS ON ANY SMOOTH LEATHER! AND once all these products are treated I am sure I will have used less than 3 ounces of the 6 ounces from the container! I am using an old "Medium" bristle toothbrush to work the product into the seams and stitching as directed as well as a circular motion on larger areas. IT WORKS PERFECTLY! After the product dries overnight I simply buff the surfaces with a soft cloth and the results are beautiful! AND My leather items are now impervious to water and snow! THis stuff is well worth the price and the 6 ounces will last a long time for future uses. BUY IT!

This product does not just contain mink but silicone as well. This fact is listed on the product but not on the sellers Amazon product page. So if you wanted silicone-less mink, move on. That said, I have used this on my Fryes, my Irish Setters, and my Red Wings. I like the product: it effectively conditions and water-proofs. Joke: this is a lot like Red Wings mink oil content wise, and SHOULD be a less expensive alternative to Red Wing Mink. Easy application, low smell, works well, will buy again. I give 4 stars because: I don't like purchasing items without complete descriptions and it was a suprise that the product was not pure mink oil but contained silicone as well; this upset me intially because I am not sure about the consensus that silicone will/will not rot cotton stitching, but after having used it for a while I am more at ease.

Stuff seems to work phenomenal. Took me some research to find a somewhat decent mink oil. Or at least what everyone else thought was decent. It wasn't rated the best, nor the worst. I'm giving it 5 stars because it did something to my 35 year old baseball glove, that I wasn't sure could be done. I started to use a rag which was fine. Then I remembered a review for one of the mink oils I was checking out. The person used their hands. The heat from their hands helped the mink oil soak and spread more evenly and quickly. I tried it with vinyl gloves. I understand not everyone has a box of vinyl gloves laying around. If you do, try this. You can see for yourself how well it seems to work with the pictures I post. A glove that has not been conditioned once, since after the first time I bought it in 1991. I like this stuff. It goes on smooth, works in good, overall awesome.

Good stuff, nourishes all sorts of leather. Also used it in a pinch to add finish / seal up some wooden pieces. Smells nice. A little bit goes a long way.

My boots are shine and water proof, after a week of wearing my new treated boots this product is amazing! I stepped through water, mud and puddles and after a dry wipe my boots look flawless. Highly and whole heartedly recommend buying it. I do recommend using a rag you don't mind possibly tossing it is greasy applying it but it leaves a wonderful shine on your boots and it does darken the leather a bit.

I do leather tooling and things like purses, clutches, billfolds, etc. Excellent pretreatment for the finish and brings old leather alive.

You can't beat this product for maintaining your leather goods. It brings new life to everything from leather boots to jackets. I am never without a tin of this product. It is always on hand!

Love this product, works really well on all kinds of leather, shoes, bags, coats and gloves to name a few of the items we have used this on. Easy to use, leaves a lovely shine and feel to all kinds of leather and improves longevity and texture. Great !

As compared to other products it's not as good on the shoes in terms of clothing it off
