Awesome, reasonably priced SUV tent
Iโve had this tent for over a year and I do a lot of car camping in my 2006 Honda Element. I hadnโt tried it out until very recently but decided on a whim to take it on my last trip. Honda Elements are extremely versatile cars and have an almost cult like following, but the rear hatch is quite different from most SUVs on the market now (they stopped making Elements some time back) and the products designed specifically to fit this vehicle are so expensive itโs almost laughable. I found this tent on Amazon and figured I give it a go, knowing that it might not be a perfect fit but prepared to make it work in the interest of saving literally hundreds of dollars. I was very surprised and pleased, both with the quality of the product and the fit. It was easy to set up and with a few careful adjustments it was almost perfect. It provided me with easily an extra 2 feet of interior space in the back of the vehicle AND it allowed me to enter and exit with ease. (A major design flaw in the Element is that Honda did not see fit to equip it with a handle for opening the rear hatch from inside the vehicle). The extra ventilation it allows when sleeping in such a relatively small space is wonderful. It made the whole experience of car camping so much easier that I almost canโt see going without it now. There are some very small gaps near the taillight area where the tent meets the car, but nothing that canโt be managed by tucking in a small cloth, if youโre worried about mosquitoes or other insects finding their way in. It was otherwise perfect, and really one of the best investments Iโve made in my camping gear! Highly recommend!

Very good tailgate tent - recommended
For what it is, this tailgate tents serves it's purpose. It attaches fairly easily, easily fitting over the open gate of my 2021 CX-5, and has of adjustable plenty of straps and ropes to secure it, including two stakes for the entry canopy. It also comes with 6 small rectangular magnets to place on the fabric in places where it gaps due to the shape of the car, to reduce incursion by unwanted insects. The idea is a good and effective one, but the magnets are too weak and too small, easily flying off as even a light breeze ripples the fabric. I happened to have some stringer ones which stayed on better as long as the breeze is not too strong. The zippers work well for the entry, and the large screen opening with the canopy extended provides plenty of air. I have yet to experience a rainstorm in that tent but am optimistic it would keep the rain out. Quality of construction appears excellent and durable with repeated use. My test-run was an overnight in a local camping ground, and then a longer test-run on a 4,500-mile road trip with 6 camping stops in the 6 SW US states. It held up well with the repeated setups and take-downs and made the car-camping experience tolerable. I don't really like sleeping in my SUV but it seemed the best solution for this particular trip since it was just for overnight stops, and this tent made it a better experience than to otherwise would have been. Photo shows it without the canopy extended - this was a particularly windy site with threat of rain.

Adjustable and kept rain out
Very easy to set up! Used it on a 2001 Honda minivan and it fit perfectly. Itโs adjustable and easy to get in and out of. It rained the night we used it and zero water got in.

Easy to set up by myself
Used this on my 2023 Chevy Equinox. Didn't see any other reviews using this on an Equinox so I wanted to share that it does work on that vehicle. Lets just jump to the 2 'cons' that I noticed, since that is why you're reading this right? Pros will come later. 1st: The outside flap (not sure the actual name for it) only has zipper pulls on the OUTSIDE. This makes it very hard to zip it close at night for privacy and weather issues. Not impossible but definitely harder. I couldn't get it zipped all the way closed from inside my car. And it really isn't possible to zip it and get in from another door. This is an easy fix from the company if they put zippers with 2 pulls on, like they have for the mesh covering. I had no issues with zipping the mesh from inside because the zipper had 2 pulls, one on the outside and one on the inside. 2nd: I do not know for sure but I am wondering if it may leak a little if it rains. Thankfully I did not have any rain during the 3 nights I used it. But I did notice light coming in the seams where it was stitched together. There were little pin holes where the stitching was. Obviously it has to be sown together but I am sure there is a way to cover the seams and make them more water proof. Again, I am not saying it will leak as I did not experience any rain. But I am curious if rain will get in through the seams. PROS: This is a pretty simple and easy tent to set up. I set it up alone on my Equinox without any issues. For reference I am 5'5". Word of advice, don't open your hatch all the way at first. Get the tent over the top and up onto part of the roof. Then open it all the way. I tied the cords to my back seat doors instead of the mirror like I had seen in other photos. Once you have it all secure with the ties and the straps on the wheels, make sure you open the hatch the rest of the way. The first night I didn't have it all the way open, I thought it was, and it was a challenge to zip it all the way closed because the zipper was on the bottom of my car and I couldn't get to it. All in all it is a pretty good tent. I had a lot of people ask me where I got it. I will also say, not tent related, but I used a regular twin sized bed mattress (not an air mattress) and it fit pretty well. A little long but I made it work while driving.

Works Great on my 4Runner
Just got back from a week of camping in Montana. I purchased this specifically for this trip and am thrilled I did! It fit the back of the 4Runner nicely and was relatively easy for one person to install, even with a little wind. (For reference I'm a 5'6" female) The back awning came in handy as it rained often. I could fit a Coleman camp table, chair, and my cooler under it nicely. I threw a tarp over things when the rain was blowing and to keep critter off my table. It really is spacious. It also held up to a stiff breeze. The only thing I recommend is to upgrade the tent stakes. I honestly wouldn't consider what they sent to be proper tent stakes. I will be replacing mine before my next trip. I also like that the awning can be rolled up to allow for better airflow on warmer nights and better viewing during the day if you find you need a break from the local flying biting wildlife. If you would like additional privacy, it can be zipped closed. I paired this with a couple of the slip-on bug nets for the back windows to allow for extra ventilation, which came in handy in eastern Washington. Overall, after my first run with it I'm very pleased. Will update if anything changes.

Good but can be better
The tent help a lot, and make easy to set up but the quality of the tent and the hops are very cheap

Amazing!
Upgrade your car camping! This fits my RAV4 perfectly, and is great quality for the price! I already canโt wait to use it again. It was super fast set up, lightweight and compact, zippers were sturdy and it has an awesome design! I am going to purchase the tent spikes to take the roof out a bit more.

Jury still out
The small is perfect for a Subaru Outback. Pro: lightweight, easy to install, stayed put in high wind with cover zipped close, allows great draft with the zipped closure staked out. The hatch open allows plenty of room to sit upright in the back end under the hatch for comfort and privacy changing clothes. In an Outback it hooks perfectly to the front edge of the mufflers. Cons: no instructions which isnโt a problem anywhere except the roof. How do you secure it to keep rain from running dow the channels on either side of the suv and collecting in the bottom. You can stretch the paracord to the front of the rails, but you do not seal out rain. Other shades that cost more have a rain tarp the goes over the roof bi didnโt like that because I wanted to use the magnetic screen on the sun roof. Another small thing is on my Outback, the zipper is low and you have to reach down between the cover and the bumper to access. Currently I say in dry weather it will work out great for my needs, in rain Iโm not sure how it will be. The other Choice is the Napier and was my 1st choice but I donโt trust it in high winds. The umbrella style overhang just looks like it would invite trouble in the wind. Iโm still debating trying the Napier Sportz

Amazing tent! Fits Nissan Armada well.
Amazing tent. Large fits 2013 Nissan Armada well. Once you figure out the steps, literally takes 30 secs to put it on, 15 secs to pull it off. As mentioned before, I wish the zips for the screen didnโt loop around the bottom, but I just keep the bottom portion open as it would be pretty awkward to close it from the inside. Very happy with the purchase!

its good if you get it cheap
Much better than expected, it fits a small SUV, worked well and packs away very very small. Not a serious tent but its lovely as a hybrid solution for the price i paid R400

Great piece of kit
I ordered another tailgate tent prior to this off ebay but it failed to arrive. In a hurry i ordered this off amazon and it arrived same day. I was a little worried it was going to look tacky but I have to say it is a decent piece of kit. You need to buy the poles for the porch, luckily I had alread got some. It fit the back of the Range with ease and the straps fit snug through the wheels. Because I kept the porch up the netted door is see through so i made a little blind from black taup and it was great. It's not going to stand heavy rain but I did have a small shower whilst away and it kept the wet and damp out. I had a few people comment on this tent so I directed them to this advertisement. I would recommend.

Amazing!
Took on a 3 week road trip and it performed in sun, wind and rain! Provided so much extra space inside my corolla, allowed plenty of air flow and kept the bugs and kangaroos (one jumped in my car cos i left the zipper open lol) out which was a huge bonus haha. Super easy to set up and take down, once you know what you're doing it takes 5 mins to put up and 2 mins to take down. The included straps are a little flimsy and I broke one on my trip, but can be reinforced with some DIY and bungee cords. I also reinforced the top corners where it goes over the top of your boot with some heavy duty cloth tape as I could see those corners would wear down REALLY fast if not. Overall a great tool for car campers! If it was a built a little sturdier it would be perfect 11/10.
