Panama Coffee, Boquete Region, Whole Bean, Fresh Roasted, 16-ounce

I normally buy my whole beans from a custom roaster in Los Gatos. Unfortunately they haven't had Boquete Estate for about 8 months so I decided to take a chance buying it online. This selection is Full City Roast which gives it a light brown color and mild toasty nuance. As espresso, the coffee is very smooth in the cup and may be too mild for those who are looking for something that hits you in the head with charred, heavily roasted flavors. This doesn't. It's mild and smooth all the way with a nice long finish, like a glass of fine wine. I consider it a great value since shipping is included for Prime members. I'll definitely buy again and perhaps even try other selections from Volcanica Coffee.

Good coffee taste. I prefer a darker roast but this coffee has a good grinding bean. Low acidity.

An unusually delicious, complex coffee whose subtle sweetness is balanced by a depth of richness and velvety earthiness. I usually prefer low-acid coffees but I very much enjoy the sparkling, delicately acidic effect of this coffee that I hear is characteristic of the varietal. I've read several stellar reviews of coffee from Panama and this brand is a good representative, it is like no other coffee I've had prior. This is fine quality coffee I savor by careful, slow sipping.

I do not normally write reviews, but this particular purchase deserves comment. A number of years ago I had the opportunity to live in Panama. Among the many fond memories that I still have from being in that country, was the introduction to their excellent coffees. Sampling this spectacular blend brought back to mind that region's bold flavors of coffees and their richness that I had once enjoyed so much. All I can do is offer my recommendation to those who have not tried it, to give it a chance...and importantly, to follow their suggestions for brewing. As for myself, now that I have found the Volcanica brand I will absolutely be restocking my supply frequently.

The first time I tried the Volcanica Panama coffee, I was thrilled with the complex, smooth flavor and full body, close to the flavor I experienced on a recent trip to Boquete. The aroma when I first opened that bag was intoxicting, so I purchased two more bags. However, the second bag smells like nothing - not even grocery store coffee - and the flavor of the fresh-ground and brewed coffee was meh. I hope the third bag has the quality of the first. If not, I don't think I'll be purchasing this again.

Great coffee but twice as expensive as it should be. I can buy equal quality beans in 2 pound bag from HEB for less than 1 pound bag of this coffee.

I am in love with this coffee. The awesome smell when you open it makes your mouth water. I brew mine with a percolator on the stove. Comes out perfect. This. Coffee is good anytime of the day. You'll love it. I brew is very heavy with I make honey cake during Rosh Ha Shanah. Oooh it makes the cake a show stopper.
