After a year the kettle only half boils, it switches off before reaching boiling point and even holding the button down doesn't work

Habe mir den Wasserkocher für meine neue Küche gekauft. Funktioniert einwandfrei. Bin echt begeistert. Im Vordergrund steht natürlich auch das Design. Einiziger minimaler Schönheitfehler: Stecker des Kabels scheind normalerweise für UK, gibt aber nen super Adapter. --> Daher auf jeden Fall ne große Kaufempfehlung von mir.

Best thing about this kettle is the design. It's an age old design and the Kenwood pulls it off very well, making the product not look overly flashy like some other brands but at the same time looking like a really well made and high quality kitchen appliance. It's the brushed metal that does this for me as I think the shiny stainless steel kettles looks pretty tacky depending on the make/model. Also, the plastic materials for the handle and lid are high quality and don't feel or look cheap. I do like the blue LED on the power switch; Kenwood, again make the product pretty basic in the sense that it is just a button light but save the product from looking cheap and tacky looking like some other models. I've previously owned two Breville 3kW kettles, one of which has an illuminated blue window which looks really cool at first but seems tacky after about a week of use. Also, it is worth mentioning that the Kenwood is made entirely of stainless steel inside the kettle itself (apart from the water indicator) whereas my previous Breville was made of plastic and started to make the water taste tainted and plasticy. Some people may or may not care about the volume capacity of the kettle (1.6 litre) but in reality this is 100ml less than most other models...I don't think that's going to be enough for another person to be honest? Take into account that the kettle looks small, neat and really stylish on the counter and that potential 100ml you sacrifice just seems non-existent really. I rarely have so many people round for tea that a whole 1.6l will not suffice but I guess for the heavy user another model may be a better fit. One thing I will say...please do not believe anybody who says this kettle is loud. It is actually very quiet for a 3kW kettle, my previous Breville's were at least twice as loud as this one. I was expecting it to be a screamer when I first switched it on (thanks to the misleading reviews I read) but was pleasantly surprised when I didn't even notice that it had finished boiling! I honestly believe that most of the people who think this kettle is "loud" are stepping up to this from 2.2kW models (or maybe even lower) that take you about 10 minutes to make a cup of tea. It is a basic principle that the higher the power rating, the louder you should expect it to be. In conclusion: A great, high quality design (love the brushed metal finish) Compact and neat on the counter It is NOT loud! Get your ears checked! Pretty decent price but not extraordinarily cheap
