Virbac C.E.T. Intellident Cat Bites for Dental Care

These were recommended by our vet after our kitty had gingivitis removed from her teeth. We found these are a few dollars cheaper than the vet so we've been on the subscription of this for over a year now. They seem to work pretty good. She has a little bit of gingivitis again, but then I did add dental work to her pet insurance so if needed to have this done again, it won't be so expensive. But this does help and she loves them. She gets three every night.

The vet recommended this as a dental treat for our cat Stella to help keep her teeth clean and gums healthy. I brought them home thinking she probably wouldn't care for them but I didn't give her cheap, unhealthy store-bought treats anyway so I figured she wouldn't have anything to compare the taste to. She LOVES these things and we use them as treats to reward and when we have to go away for the day as well. They are of course hard, giving her teeth a good workout and I have not noticed any side affects or negative health or digestive events because of them. *with the exception of the one time we gave her 4 in one day - it upset her tummy so we didn't do that again. They recommend 3 a day, our running average with Stella currently, is 2 to 3 per day. When we were down to the last few in the first bag, I searched on Amazon for them just to see if I could get a lower price than at the vet's office and found them to be nearly half the cost of what I'd paid at the office. They come in a zippered resealable bag which is convenient and are shipped quickly which is good because I don't like her to run out of these.

I tried this product since Virbac stopped making their wonderful CET Chews for cats. I am so upset that the company did this because I had finally found a cat dental product that actually worked and that was easy to administer. In fact, my two cats LOVED the chews, especially the fish ones. They kept my cats' teeth beautifully clean, and the cats went for them as if they were candy. Why on earth did Virbac decide to stop making a product that was so good?? I really don't understand this at all. It would be one thing if the product was awful and didn't work, but the chews were GREAT! This new product, the Intellident, is a complete waste. My cats won't touch it! The pieces are very small and bite-sized, BUT they are hard as rocks! Obviously, the smell did not attract my cats because they took one sniff and backed off. So, I threw the entire bag in the trash. PLEASE, VIRBAC, BRING BACK THE OLD PRODUCT!!! You were crazy to get rid of it, and you have disappointed a lot of people, I would bet. I can't be alone in my fury. And, by the way, I just took one cat to the vet to have his teeth checked, and he needs a professional cleaning for tartar buildup since we have been out of the chews for probably a year now. WTH, VIRBAC??? You really did a dumb thing.

My larger adult cat loves them but my small adult cat seems to have a hard time with them because they are pretty hard treats. She tried and ate one but she seemed to struggle and then quit trying with them. So they might not be a good option if your cat has a small mouth.

These dental care cats bites are very very very hard, not every cat will enjoy especially if their teeth are already sensitive. I had to crush up the bites just to get them into an edible state for my cat. Because of this I would not buy this product again.

Recommended by a vet to prevent cavities, and they’ve done a great job—at 12+, my cat’s never had any tooth issues. Beyond that, she loves these: they’re the only treats she NEVER eventually tires of!!!

My boys really enjoy these treats, and it’s one of the few dental chews they actually chew instead of swallowing whole. It’s nice hearing them crunch away. I only give these occasionally, so I can’t say how much they help their breath, but they definitely like them. They’re on the expensive side, though, so I use them sparingly.

I’ve been getting these for my Mima for a while now, maybe a year or so. I think they do a great job at keeping her breath fresh and teeth clean. Something I like to do in conjunction with these is smear a bit of the CET enzymatic toothpaste on three of these treats so she gets an additional clean! These are pretty expensive but I think for the quality and effectiveness it does the job well.

my cat loves these. i give him 3 every day. and it keeps his teeth healthy. it’s a little pricey but worth it for his dental health.

One of those items that its hard to tell if it works but after having a issue with Gingivitis my first visit to the vet with my newly adopted cat I started giving her 2 a day along with an oral care dry food, the issue is now gone a year later.

Two of my cats love them, and the one I bought them for doesn't but as she is very very picky I wasn't surprised. I like that these dental treats don't have chlorophyll like the Greenies, which always make my cats sick, but I can't justify the $27 price tag for the tiny bag of treats.

Very hard treats. My cats struggled to chew. One of them wouldnt even try now.

He goes crazy for these and they are good for his teeth.
