A review for Christians. Great Resource
I searched for a book of this type. Hebrew prayers with a facing English translation, as an additional resource when studying Hebrew, which I just started last month. For that purpose, it fit the bill perfectly; however, I discovered an additional virtue I did not expect. The prayers are so good, I found myself using them in Christian settings as well, with no complaints about references to "the Torah."If you think you might encounter such complaints, change the word "Torah" to "Scripture". I might go even further to say the prayers would work for Muslims by changing "Torah" to "Qur'an". My only warning is that like some Christian prayers, some tend to be rather long. I am inclined to prefer short prayers with very well thought out content. That is what you get here, where you do not even have to use the entire text. The paper and binding is rich, although not "expensive". It is gilt-edged onion skin, so it will even look good in prayer situations. If your only use is to use the English, there is no concern with the accuracy of the translation. I find the English to be perfectly reverent and "to the point."

Beautifully typeset, tight binding, great commentary
I'm looking forward to davening with this machzor for years to come. The full-size edition has very readable type. I was suprised to see more block paragraphs than in the Koren Daily/Shabbat siddur, but there is so much to be put in the machzorim, I can live with it.Rabbi Sacks' introduction and commentary is well-done as usual, as are the translations. (This machzor, like the Koren siddur, has the ivrit on the left page with the english on the right page-- once you're used to it, I think it works better that way.) The paper is very thin, but seems to be strong, making this a bit more compact without losing type size/readability.I was disappointed in the paperback binding of the Koren daily siddur-- the front cover is already off and I've only used it for about eight months. The machzor's binding seems very sturdy and tight, so there shouldn't be a similar problem.Looking forward to the Yom Kippur machzor! L'shana tova!

Not the Standard Liturgy
It is a handsome book, with easy to read cream colored pages and a sturdy binding.Unfortunately there are significant differences between this siddur's liturgy and other more widely used ones, such as Artscroll. The beginning of the morning services is also a bit confusing, as the publisher elected to divide the various paragraphs among different sections of the siddur. This leads to a confusing turning of pages in order to recite them in the standard order.Had I known of these differences I probably would have passed on it. It is unlikely that I will use it again next year.

Made for a more meaningful Rosh haShanah
For years I was happy davening with the Birnbaum machzor. As the liturgy changed, the machzor no longer served its purpose (missing some piyyutim and tefilos). This year I used R' Sacks' machzor for the first time and was very pleased. I was already used to the typography and layout through the Koren-Sacks siddur, so I wasn't surprised by any physical feature of the machzor. What I loved was the richness of the translation, which made the prayers more meaningful (I cannot understand Hebrew without a lot of help). I also liked the commentaries, which gave me much to think about, inside and outside the synagogue. I want my synagogue to switch to this machzor.

Pages very thin
Great content. Love R. Sacks. Print hard to read because paper is very thin and ink is not very dark. Got us through the holidays during COVID.

A DAVENER'S DELIGHT
I BOUGHT THE ROSH HASHONA AND YOM KIPPUR MACHZORIM BECAUSE I'M ENJOYING THE SIDDUR SO MUCH. AFTER BREAKING THE FAST, I WROTE A REVIEW ON THE YK MACHZOR. A FELLOW READER ENCOURAGED ME TO FILE THIS REVIEW ON THE RH MACHZOR. BOTH VOLUMES ARE GREAT. CLEAR TYPE, EASY INSTRUCTIONS (I DAVEN WITH A NON-ASHKENAZ MINYAN) AND THE NOTES ARE SPECTACULAR. A REAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE. HEBREW IS NOT JAMMED SO THAT READING IS PLEASURABLE. ENGLISH TRANSLATION IS CLEAR AND THE NOTES EXPLAIN WHAT THE READER WANTS TO KNOW. VALUABLE ASSETS TO MY PERSONAL LIBRARY.

Beautiful Machzor
This is a very meaningful and beautiful Machzor. The Koren typeset is consistently lovely, the translation is poetic and captures the spirit of the hebrew content beautifully and as always, Rabbi Sacks' commentary is thought provoking and deep. It truly enhanced my Rosh Hashana this year and I also used it in preparation for Yom Kippur. It truly helped keep me in the right frame of mind. I highly recommend this edition and I am looking forward to his Yom Kippur Machzor next year.Gregg Bannett

A beautiful mahzor for Rosh HaShanah
The new Koren Sacks Rosh HaShana mahzor is a delight. The introduction alone (as is true for the siddur) is itself worth the price of the book - after reading it I really wanted to try to be a better person. The English translation is beautifully and accurately rendered. I did find 2 errors that I am sure will be corrected in future editions, the most obvious one being an incorrect beracha after the kedusha in the minchah prayer service.
