Maybe the perfect hooded cat box!
If you have cats that will use a covered litter box, I very highly recommend this one! We have eight cats of all sizes, and we have nine of these boxes. They are so nice and big, my finicky cats who prefer to ๐ฉ in one part and ๐ฅ in another have enough space to do their business as they see fit. We generally put 30-40 pounds of clumping clay litter in each box, and because itโs so big and deep, the clumps stay near the top of the litter and it makes them so much easier to keep clean. No scraping the concrete off the bottom of the litter box, and the litter stays cleaner longer. We have two girls who were strays that we found when they were pretty young, like six weeks old. What we found out was that these two didnโt like the opaque hooded boxes. Iโm guessing that they were accustomed to needing to be on the lookout for something that might get them while they were โvulnerableโ going to the bathroom. My older cats were kind of jerks, they would โambushโ them by sitting on top of the box while they were in the box. They seem much happier now that they can see all around themselves without worrying about being jumped on when they stepped out. We decided to replace all of them with these, and all is well with the world! Yes, they are a little more expensive than most other boxes, but they are more than worth it. They have held up well, they are easy to clean, and when we do the monthly dump-and-clean-litter it really cleans up quickly. My cats say 32 paws up, way up! ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ

Nice If You Need A Large Hooded Setup
I wanted a setup with tall sides to keep the litter from being kicked out. I think some cats like to see their surroundings to feel they can escape. I thought this would solve the problem especially with having a visible/see-through top. This is really deep, I think 16 inches, which is good if you have a single cat or cats that don't mind other deposits prior to cleaning. I'm now considering a stainless steel one with tall sides instead since she does not like being enclosed and I think the plastic holds odors and she is picky. Pros: see through, roomy for even larger cats to move around in and have head room, top can be removed, color options, light weight, but seems durable. Cons: have to deep scoop with the lid on, not all cats like hooded boxes. Photo is large 15 lb male cat

Very pleased, and so are the cats!
Update, 11/28/21: What the heck is with the price on this litter box? $50 for a plastic litter box is nuts. It's a litter box, not the Taj Mahal. I was going to order another one, but the ridiculous price is making me leave the site without ordering. Update, 7/25/17: I continue to really like these litter boxes, but the seller keeps sending me emails requesting that I review the product. They arrive with subject lines such as "Additional information required by Seller...". I have repeatedly sent back feedback that I have already left a review and to please stop the irritating requests for a review. But I just got another request. That makes at least 4 times I have gotten a request for a review. Apparently, they have no way of not sending those emails to people who have already reviewed the product and then buy it again. It is beyond annoying, and at some point, the requests start to seem like harassment. I wish they would stop, because it is making me hesitant to ever buy another one of these litter boxes. I am leaving my 5 star review for the product itself, but if the emails continue, I will lower my rating, simply because of the seller's practices. ********** Original review *********** I own 4 of these litter boxes now, and I am very pleased with them. I have had them long enough that I can see I won't be buying any other brand of litter box in the future. The boxes are nice and large, and will hold quite a bit of litter (I use scooping litter). The top latches securely to the bottom. The cats love to go in them and scratch and dig to their hearts' content. The box is big enough for them to not have to hunch down and squat, or hang their behinds over the edge and try to aim for the inside. The cats can move around and turn around, and seem to like the clear plastic top. I like the height of the rear wall, as it helps prevent urine overspill 99% of the time. One of my cats likes these boxes so much that he treats it as his play space. He gets in it and flattens himself and flips his tail and then leaps about inside. To my dismay, he does sometimes fling litter outside the box, but that is minimized with these boxes and besides, he is so darn cute. Plus, he uses the box appropriately when it is time to do his business. :) After 30+ years of trying all sorts of litter boxes, I think I have finally found the brand I am going to stick with. I must say I felt a little guilty when I noticed how much smaller the cats' former litter boxes were. Cats really do appreciate the nice large size of these boxes.

This thing is HUGE!
Unfortunately, though I specifically searched for a box with a clear hood (and I LOVE how clear it is... great for claustrophobic felines), this hood has no vents. Vents matter, because if you don't immediately scoop out whatever your cat has left in the litter (I'm retired so I can stay on top of the mess better than most), the box will hold onto odors and your cat(s) won't use the box. I knew that, of course, and was willing to drill holes to get a box with a clear lid. I used the thickest drill bit I have and immediately made the big mistake of drilling through the center circle (a stress point from the manufacturing process, which I should have known better than to do) and wound up withe an UNeven hole and 3 radiating cracks. Don't do that. Steer clear of the 3 stress points (3 circles: center forward, and rear along the vertical axis). The other 8 holes I drilled went as perfect as one can expect when drilling through semi-hard plastic. Apart from avoiding the three stress points I wouldn't drill too close to the rounded edges, either. Thanks to the idiot move I made, I will never be able to temporarily rest my laundry basket on top of the hood while I put away the laundry, as it will likely make the cracks worse, like a pebble to your windshield. Instead, drill away from the three stress points and not too close to the rounded edges. And don't go hog-wild making holes as it will make the lid unstable. I hope the manufacturers alter the lid design by adding vents so I won't have to deal with this at all when I replace this box next year. Fun fact: Because cats have dichromatic vision (best colors are yellow, green, and blue) I googled the color options to ask which color would most guarantee cats will use the box: Teal, and (bright vibrant) Blue were the only two that got a thumbs-up. I love aqua and was looking at the teal but google recommended the (bright vibrant) blue, so that's what I got. It's lively and pretty. My boy used it right away. They give you two extra clips and the two front clips don't really fadten well. But after years of wrestling with clips so tight they hurt my hands I actually prefer these. The lid stays put unless I lift it off and that suits me fine. I recommend this box but the price and no vents mean I can't give it 5 stars.

The XL size is perfect for our very large cat. I like the see-through plastic lid.
A great litter box for our very large cat. We have a 12-lb British Shorthair who doesnโt fit into regular size litter boxes. This is my third litter box by this company. I like to replace them after a couple of years from the wear-and-tear from the kitty claws and clumping litter. Because our cat is so large, he tends to โhigh peeโ, so we need a tall box to keep everything contained and not escape the box. This litter box does that extremely well. I wipe down the inside of the lid and the sides of the box daily to keep it very clean. The box has a clear lid which our cat seems to like. It gives him a feeling of protection but also allows him to see anything around him while heโs using it. And I like it because I can easily see if heโs just used his box and I need to scoop things out. The box is easy to clean. I wash it out in the shower with a hand-held shower head sprayer and a bit of the blue dish soap. I highly recommend this litter box for anyone who has a large cat.

Puurrrfect Litter box!
I love this litter box! Ever since I realized my one cat is a high pee-er (he lifts his butt as he goes and it sprays out to hit the wall!), I had reverted to getting a high tub storage bin. This was not a good solution for a couple reasons, one is that my poor little half-Persian had a hard time jumping into and out of it so I had to have an empty box of litter laid on the side so she could jump up into it, second it had corners that were hard to scoop out not to mention I didn't have enough of them. So being so open at the top and all. They would smell fast and were just too hard to clean out yadda yadda. So I went on the hunt to find a better litter box. I tried the low ones again but nope my high pee-er still lifted his butt and his pee went spraying!! So I saw this litter box and wasn't sure because of the clear lid but I thought the cats might not feel so boxed in with a clear top but you can see right away when it's been used. I worried tho as I also have a big ol Maine Coon so it has to be big enough for him too and does it seal enough to prevent leaks from the high pee-er? OMG! When I got this litter box, I loved it right away! It clips together so easily and the cats loved it before I could even put litter in it as they laid right inside it and napped! So the true test came as I got litter in there and they used it right away. It has a nice easy entrance, low for the half-Persian, big enough for the Maine Coon and yes my troublemaker high pee-er went in and I saw he only pees at the back end and NO LEAKS! Yay! These litter boxes are the best! The perfect solution and I so wish I had them years ago! They are super easy to scoop and clean with no corners, easy to unclasp the top and it securely attaches again. They come in gorgeous bright colors and I have almost every one! I have 5 cats total (2 are my daughter's so I am not the crazy cat lady yet!), and all of them love these litter boxes! They are hardly using the totes at all so I can now clean them out and use them for something else like they are meant to be for. If you have any doubts about these litter boxes, put them aside and rest assured they are the best! On top of that, their customer service is top notch! So friendly and kind! So rare to find a product like this as well as great people behind it! I highly recommend them!

โCat Poopie Boxโ reduces litter flinging, off-target peeing
First of all, the official name of this product is โCat Poopie Box,โ which I think is hilarious. The manufacturer has a sense of humor. I have two cats, and one of them tends to fling litter around after using his (old) box. The other cat prefers to do his business outdoors, and when he *has* to use the litter box, he doesnโt always get the trajectory quite right, and there is sometimes pee beside the box instead of in it. I thought a domed box would help remedy all of the above. I chose this box because itโs very large, which more than accommodates my critters. I like the fact that the lid stays secured in place with the little clasps, and the clasps are easily secured or unsecured (for when you need to clean the box). The manufacturer also provides two extra clasps in case one breaks. The fact that the top is clear probably makes the box feel less confining and claustrophobic for the cats, but of course, it also helps the human see when the box needs to be cleaned. Because cats can be a little resistant to change, I set the box up without the dome first, and the always-indoor cat had no problem with it. A couple days later, I put the dome on, and he went in and used it with no hesitation. The cat that prefers the great outdoors has had to use the hooded box a couple of times now, and all the pee is inside the box. Yay! The fact that the box is rounded โ as opposed to having squared-off corners โ makes it a little more challenging to clean. I use clumping litter, and my cats tend to pee at the edge of the box, so I need to scrape the sides to collect all the waste. The curves make that a little more difficult. Itโs not an insurmountable problem โ I just had to change my โmethodology.โ All in all, a great cat poopie box. Recommended!

All around great litter box!
I bought this litter box to use in a multi cat household. I wanted a hooded box to cut down on dust. The litter box arrived on time with all of its parts. I've been using the litter box along with the new metal scoop I ordered (I went with the H&ZT Large Cat Litter Scoop by GOPlus) for 5 days and I really like them both. For now I am using the tray without the hood because I want to ease my cats into transitioning to using a hooded litter box. However, I did initially attach the hood to make sure it fit and it locked in place without any problems. Main reason I chose this box: It has a clear hood - I was worried that my younger male cat would try to ambush my senior cat. Features that I didn't realize how much I would love: 1. Rounded edges - I no longer have to deal with clumps of litter getting stuck in the corners of my old rectangular box. 2. Large size - I love how big this litter box is. It is perfect for a multi cat household. Complaints I read from other reviewers: 1. The latch system was difficult - I did not have any problems with it. 2. There isn't a handle on the hood - I am not too worried about this because I will only move it when I take it outside to do a deep cleaning (every 2-4 weeks) and do not find it difficult to carry (assuming I have emptied the litter out of it). 3. Not good for cats who spray - Neither of my cats have this problem, so I cannot give my opinion. Update (2 weeks later): I have added the lid and the cats all are happily using the litter box. I really like the large door opening because I can clean the litter without taking the top off. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Most effective litter tray/box we have owned
Title says it all... I've owned many mammy litter trays over the years and this one has definitely work the best to reduce little escaping whilst having adequat space for your cat even if large. It's easy to remove the lid, only takes a second.

Poop Palace
I have 12lbs Maine coon crosses and one long bodied domestic short hair. This is plenty big for them to go in, dig 67 times, deposit their waste, then burry it by scratching 149 times, all the scratching is contained inside the poop palace. I love how the top is clear. I can view the state of the poop palace when passing by. Also that the cats can see who is outside the box, waiting for them to come out. Spoiling the surprise pounce on them (jerk Milo). Love how you get two extra latches with the poop palace. 5 paw ๐พ rating from the felines ๐โโฌ.

Very convenient off/on clear lid
We have a 22lb cat and was pleasantly impressed that she can get in and out with no issues. The lid is a big bonus as it keeps about 99% of the litter inside. Also came with 2 bonus clips for the lid.

Second Purchase
This is the second Petphabet Jumbo litter box I've ordered. The first one was about 10 years year ago and it really stood up to the task. I thought it was time to freshen things up so ordered another one to replace the old one. It looks exactly the same, but I feel the plastic is somewhat thinner on the new one. Time will tell. If anything happens I will update. Otherwise, if the new one performs as well as the old one did I'll be very happy. Here's hoping to another 10 years of use. It's a bit pricey, but it looks really good and is easy to clean. Not to mention, its predecessor lasted a very long time and didn't seem to age much at all.

Love this but
I love this litter box.. I just wish 2 things.. 1 that the bottom had a slide out tray so stuff didn't stick to the bottom and 2 that there was a place to put a herb bag or scent bag for odors.. sighss..Otherwise good box..and easy to use...
