This may be a little bit too much information, but I partially detached my nail when I stubbed my toe a couple days ago. I bought these after a botched attempt to trim the mangled nail with my old trimmers. I don’t know what anyone else is talking about, but these are the best trimmers I’ve ever seen or used. Very handsome design, with the build quality you’d expect from germany. These guys are SHARP, but that’s the point. The grip is large enough for my large man thumbs, the action is smooth (with full shear throughout the stroke) and they effortlessly trimmed the nail without causing any deformation (and therefor pain) of the nail during the job. If they can handle the thick nail of a damaged halux, then they can handle anything. I’m very glad I sprung the extra $$ for this model, because I’m sure it’s an investment that will pay for itself over many years!
