how long does it stay cold for?

That depends on the temperature. The ones that are worn in our production assembly area stay cool for several hours but the temp in that area stays around 76-79 degrees F. The ones in our welding shop, don't stay cool but for about 2 hours but the temp in that area can be 108 degrees F. Hope this helps.

If I live in a super humid area will this help??

Depending on what you are needing. They cool the neck, which helps me stay cool. I live in a very dry area ie..San Diego, I wear these when I go horseback riding. They dry out quickly due to our dry weather, but feel nice when they are wet and cool.
