Q: what's the tightest setting it can be? he is five but has crazy tiny wrists.

Very small...it cinches up (no eyelets like a regular watch band). I love these watches. The band is soft elastic.

Q: Arrived not working. Do I need to do something to get it to start?

Sorry to hear about your watch. Please make sure the plastic protector is removed in between the crown and watchcase, the crown is pushed all the way in. Q: The band won't stay tight on this watch. Does anyone know how to fix it with velcro that does not involve a sewing machine?

I had to loop it so the extra band went against the skin vs the extra band just flopping on the outside. That seemed to help but it wasn’t a good fix just a semi better fit for my active boy
