Pet MD Topical Spray for Dogs, Cats, and Horses - 8 oz

The Pet MD Antiseptic and Antifungal Spray is a great “spot treatment” spray for your dog’s itchy spots and skin infections. My dog has been suffering from a case of really itchy skin and paws to the point where he’d chew off his fur and licked his paws red and raw. After using a medicated shampoo that cleared up most of his skin issues, I noticed he was still licking his paws quite a bit, so I applied the Pet MD spray to them. This spray cleared up the last of his itchiness problem and his paws have been healing very nicely since. The skin between his toes is no long red and itchy and the hair is starting to slowly grow back. I’m guessing there’s something in the yard that he’s allergic to and this really helped keep the issue at bay. The only issue I had with the spray is that my dog seemed really insistent on licking the stuff off - I ended up spraying his paws and rubbing the spray well inbetween his toes, then sitting with him while his feet dried off - I don’t think licking off the spray would make him sick, but I’d rather not chance him ingesting all the spray. Overall, if your dog is suffering from allergies and itchy skin, this is definitely worth a try.

I have been using this for yrs. for both my XL sized dogs from things like puncture wounds, cuts, bug bites and even fungal infections. Seems label was changed recently? But used to state clearly that was antiseptic AND anti-fungal. Seems they dropped that off label now for some reason? But most dog products you get 1 of those and then have to buy 2nd product for other. This spray plus some blood clotting powder are must haves for Dog 1st Aid kits you should have in advance of injury. Don't put directly into open wound (if that big needs vet) but good for cleaning up and helping itching for stitches / follow up care. Neither of my dogs have acted like in pain when applying (like from stinging). I find best to apply before walks or play time to give time to absorb before they try to lick wounded area and clean off spray too.

Giving 4 stars for now, because it hasn't been long enough for me to really tell a difference with just the spray. I use it on my 110 lb golden retriever mix who has developed horrible skin allergies since our move to Texas. His long coat makes him susceptible to bad yeast dermatitis, which creates itchy scabs all over his body and has caused hair loss. I have been applying this spray to his spots in between bathing him with the same type of shampoo. (Anti fungal shampoo with the same ingredients- ketoconazole and chlorhexidine gluconate.) I bathe him twice a week, using this spray in between baths. Because this dermatitis is also linked to the immune system, I have him on immune system boosters. He's been on a grain-free, salmon-based diet for years to help. Basically- this spray, shampoo, regular dosages of Benadryl, and immune system supplements have done much more for him than the incredibly expensive medication and steroid shots I was getting from the vet. I was easily spending a grand a year in vet bills for them to give him shots and strong medicine, which only masked symptoms and is bad for the dog's immune system over long periods of time anyway. It's been 2-3 weeks of using this spray with regular baths, and this is the best it has ever looked. I've attached photos of what his skin looks like now, as well as some of the products I've been using on him. The pink skin you see was previously covered in horrible scabs and his skin was pretty black. I'll update this review hopefully in a month or so.

My male pitbull is very yeasty. Yeasty paws and always had ear infections. The ears were horrible so I kept taking him to the vet and they kept prescribing meds. It would clear up and come right back. After years of that, I started looking for something I could do myself. Found this and have never been back to the vet for this reason. I clean his ears and give two sprays of this, twice a day until it clears. He doesn’t like it but he allows me to do it because he knows it helps. If I keep his ears dry he can go months with no infection. If one pops up this clears it right up. I don’t spray this on his paws because it says you shouldn’t get it in their eyes or mouth and he’ll lick it off. But I find if I keep the ears clears the feet are clear. He recently had a hives outbreak. Once we got that clear he stated having red crusty spots appear all over his body. They flare up, scab over and then flake off and another one pops up. I think it may be fungal too, so I started using this on them. He can’t lick them because they’re in his belly. We’ll see if this works.

Amazing for repairing breaks in skin. Smells fine and the bottle came in tact— no Leaking. Comfortable for my dog and comes in a good sized bottle. Heels skin heal so fast!

I think this stuff smells great, but unfortunately my cat hates it. I spray some onto a little cotton pad to dab onto his chin acne (he will not allow me to spray his chin), but when he hears the spray he runs away. The spray mechanism is pretty bad and gets clogged after every use. I don't love this purchase.

Great stuff. My little bully pit has anxiety x 100.. its BAD. The other day when we woke up I notices his paw looked huge. Further inspection it was on 2 toes swollen. Fast forward. When he gets worked up he drools like a St. Bernard. He got a infection between his toes from drooling. He has Fat feet so it was staying moist and created a yeast infection. This along with antibiotics is helping . Easy to use. It scares him when he hears the spray...then feels the spray. He takes off Like road runner.. I'm glad for all the reviews and this product for helping my boys foot..This will be added to his first aide kit for future Boo Boos

Excellent product . I took my dog to the vet he gave me some soap to wash it and it made it worse. My daughter decided to buy this product and the very next day he was much better. I’m so glad this product work my poor dog was in agony with the itching. I though it was allergies but it wasn’t
