A better mount option
I like this GPS mount. I didn't care to use the usual windshield mount that came with my 7" Garmin unit. In my experience windshield mounts tend to obstruct more of the view than I care for because they sit higher, and the suction can fail. The iSaddle mount sits on the dash, and the GPS unit sits significantly lower than the windshield mount. It's easy to see over the GPS unit. I can also position it closer than is possible with the windshield option thereby making the display easier to see, and access if necessary. The only caveat is that your dashboard should be level or have a minimal slope to it. It's advertised as non-skid, and for the most part it is. But bumpy roads will cause it to move occasionally. That wasn't a big issue though. It could still work if your dashboard has more of a slope. What I'd suggest in that case is applying a couple strips of Phinus Double Sided Tape to the bottom of the mount. I've used that on various materials to good effect. It holds well, and may be re-usable. Overall, a very satisfactory purchase.

It stays put
We purchased this for the dash of our truck to put our GPS or Garmin and found that this model. The Eye saddle function mount holder for Garmin is probably the best that we have come across. It stays put even if you make sharp turns if you break too hard or takeoff too fast, it stays right where you put it. The design is pretty clever. Itโs almost like a three sided beanbag. It fits perfectly on the dash the stickings holds like itโs been drilled in. It was very inexpensive so it was great for the value of the money we spent. Itโs very easy to use and there is suction cups if you want to use those, but we prefer the sticky part. I highly recommend these friction mount holders for your Garmin so you donโt drop it or damage it because this mount stays put.

Best Option I've Found for Stable and Secure Vehicle Cell Phone Holder
I've tried so many different car mounts for my cell phone and this is the only style that I'm happy with. Most vent mounts fall out as the phones are too heavy for them to stay secure. The bean bag style is perfect. When traveling I prefer using an old school Garmin instead of the autoplay options in my vehicle. I added a bracket to the ball socket and it works perfectly for the Garmin or cell phone. I love that it can be moved between vehicles. My primary vehicle (Toyota Sienna van) doesn't have a flat dash for it to be centered. However, thanks to the extra storage console (purchased on Amazon) I can set the holder on it and it's just the right height for me to view the screen. The holder stay put on it's own without needing to use an adhesive.

Excellent Alternative to Suction Mounts
I've had years of frustration with suction mounted GPS units, vehicle ODBII monitors, phone mounts, etc. The basic issue is that no matter how well you prep the surface, they always eventually fall off, usually while negotiating a curve, scaring the hell out of you. This mount is brilliant. I stays put, uses gravity to an advantage (not disadvantage) and fits everything I use. It will sit up a bit on the dashboard, but not terribly. Its hefty with a nice soft rubbery material on the bottom. And the heat of summer does nothing to either it, or the hold it has on the unit affixed. Frankly I like it because I do NOT leave units in the sun. This allows me to easily slip the whole thing off and under the seat when I leave the car. I put it back when I return, no fiddling. I've found the ball mount to be basically universal for everything I have. There is another more expensive Garmin mount like this, with a flat pad and a lower profile. I have it as well, but this cheaper one is better I think. The pads "wrap" around the shape of your dashboard much better.

Good. I have two.
Good. I have two. The first had a stickier bottom pad, and this is more foam-like that does not stick as well when it is very cold. It fits and grabs where others will not. Not lightweight, which may be helpful. I can use it in my Ford Bronco. Ball mount is great.

Holds it in place
I bought this 2 years ago when I got my Silverado. It stays put! I don't like the suction cup ones. They fall off no matter what I do. And with the Silverado windshield, it's a bit out of my reach if I try to attach it that way. This sets right off in the corner, out of the way, but where I can still see it!

Not like the original.
This mount is not the quality of the original โBean Bagโ Garmin mount. It doesnโt have the weight and size of the original Garmin. Therefore you can expect a little more movement on the dash on some model of cars when you drive. It is very mediocre.

Brilliant little device.
Fabulous idea. Heavy and stable on the dashboard so it stays in place. Garmin clips securely in place. Highly recommended.

Great concept for mounting GPS or phone to dashboard without suction cups or adhesive
This bean bag mount is an underrated idea for mounting a GPS or other electronics to your dash without having to rely on suction cups (useless in fluctuating temperatures) or adhesive (can be messy). You'd think it'd bounce around or slide or be inclined to fly off the dash or into the windshield, but in my experience it rarely even budges. There's enough weight and friction that it's remarkably good at staying in place. This is fully compatible with the original Garmin GPS mount for Nuvi devices, but I'll let you in on a little secret - it's a standard 17mm ball mount. You can easily find 17mm adapters for your phone or other devices, it doesn't just have to be for a GPS. The price is also very reasonable considering the build quality and the prices some of the original or other "replacement" beanbag mounts are going for elsewhere. Overall if you like the concept, this is a great version, and sure you still need to buy a holder for your device, but like I said it's basically universal if you can find a 17mm ball mount adapter for your device. Works great with Garmin Nuvi's too, though.

Holds Garman 2595L GPS
Used to hold old Garman 2595L GPS. Held Gps safety in place whilst on a week long road trip. Unit sits on very smooth dashmat, without needing double sided tape, weighted designed works well. Ball joint connection allows gps screen to be adjusted with very little slippage. Screen held in position even on rough road surfaces and base seemed fastened to dashmat. Small enough to hide. For security reasons when travelling I disconnected gps from power cable and moved the dash mount (gps attached) out of sight when parked. Highly recommended if you need to mount gps or phone holder with ball socket on your dash without mess.
