Complete Torah Scroll, TR4 - 23" Long

Excellent Replica - Perfect for Bar Mitzvah study
My son is having his Bar Mitzvah outside of a synagogue. Since very few synagogues will lend out their Torah (with good reason!), we looked online. What a find this is! Careful... The scroll is made of paper, and not parchment. It is not kosher, and the Torah text is printed, not hand calligraphy. If a kosher Torah is not necessary for your uses, this is perfect. It is about a 2/3 size of the typical Torah one sees in a synagogue, and much lighter in weight, which is a consideration when you have a 13-yr. old handling it. He and his tutor have been using it for weeks to practice (oh... it includes the vowels... what a surprise!). From afar, it looks like any Torah, just a bit smaller. The cover is artificial velvet, the breastplate is cheap aluminum, but from afar... nobody knows. It even comes with a yad (pointer), and a plastic dust cover, all fitted into a nice box.For the price, we couldn't have asked for anything better!

Interesting idea
Although this is great as a teacahing tool, and it is a great print -very legible and the trop is nice. I do wish there was one this size without the vowels for the kids sto practice with. Also- the ink is a bit stinky- maybe better to check the printing quality before you print up the next batch.

The Torah Scroll
This is a large practice Torah Scroll for Bar Mitzvah, but if one wanted to see what a Torah Scroll looks like then this is a go start where as a Sefer Torah Scroll is in the thousands of dollars.

This scroll is garbage
This scroll was crap. A real embarassment. This is the first time I have ever received such a poorly created product on Amazon. You should be ashamed of yourself. It clearly is poorly made. This is a sacred document, a reproduction of great importance. ALL FOUR HANDLES WERE SNAPPED OFF.

Make sure you are okay with the SCROLL height
I don't have this particular scroll, but about 2 years ago I bought two TR3 19" scrolls, which are basically the same thing but slightly smaller.I'm just writing to point out something I didn't realize when I bought those. I assumed the overall height would be about from the floor to the top of my knee, which was correct. I ASSUMED that with two fairly short handles the scroll would be about 13-14" -- a good size for young kids to carry around on Simchat Torah. In fact the handles are about normal size, so the scroll was a good deal shorter than I had expected. No misrepresentation in the description or defect in the product -- just something I hadn't thought of and wish I had paid attention to.
