Great Blade
Love this blade. It's my second one. Mistakingly took the first to an NBA game and it was confiscated. It's light and you forget it's in your pocket. Holds an edge well. Very easy to edc. Looks sleak and fits into an office environment better than most knives.

Perfect gentleman’s knife.
Unboxed the crkt ceo just now and I’ll just start off by saying I really like this knife so far. First off to speak to some of the other reviews I read, it is very very slim, about the same diameter of a fairly thick pen. This means holding it and flicking open with your thumb is not super easy. The blade has pretty strong retention which is a good thing for a knife that is meant to carry tip down. That combined with the slim handle means flicking open is not easy, however a lot of the comments regarding how difficult it is to open seem a bit over the top. If you adjust your grip and apply pressure to the thumb stud, once you break retention this thing pops right open with a satisfying click. Just took a little adjustment and practice. Now to the weight. It is light as knifes go, especially for a blade of this length, however it does have a lot of steel in it and probably could have been made lighter, for a knife advertised to carry in a shirt pocket, a little weight shaved would be nice. However for such a small knife it has a really nice weight and balance in hand so I can forgive there, and again at under 3oz it is still light. Now to the blade, love the blade shape, it has a nice elegance to it and the length is perfect. Sharpness is pretty good out of the box, not razor but good. I may take a fine stone to it but it’s not necessary. Lastly the grips, Have a cool carbon fiber pattern to them and a perfect level of grip. Smooth enough to not tear up your shirt pocket but enough traction for every day tasks. They feel great in hand. Overall take: for the price this is a sweet little knife. It will not be my edc as I like something a little more robust, however for the days where you can’t, or don’t want to carry a bigger knife this thing is perfect. In slacks, or a suit or shirt pocket would be perfect.

Stylish and Usable
I don't need to say much about the CEO's looks, as they're evident in the pictures above. It's got style and then some. There are a number of complaints about the thumb stud being too stiff, but it just needs a little breaking in. I played with it for hours after first opening it up (how could I not?), and now I can flick it open pretty easily. I can only imagine it will get even easier with time. The thin blade makes this a knife for casual use: opening letters, trimming loose string on your clothes, cutting boxes, etc. Given its styling, that shouldn't be a surprise to you. If you need an outdoor utility tool, get a different knife. I will say I was disappointed the blade wasn't better sharpened. I can do it myself, but I love the honeymoon period that comes with a new knife, when its blade is magically sharp. Overall, I'm very happy with this knife. It'll make a solid EDC blade, and will look good at the same time. I noticed some people mentioned their knives broke. If mine gets damaged, I'll update my review, but this certainly gives the appearance of being a well-made knife. EDIT: After a month of use, I've upped my rating from 4 stars to 5. I'm really in love with this blade. EDIT: Three months in, and the clip on the handle snapped in half. I saw some other reviews complaining about that and thought, "What are they doing it abuse it?" But not so! I was sitting on a plush couch, knife in pants pocket, and stood up. The tip of the clip caught the fabric of the couch, and the thing snapped as quick as can be. I never even felt any resistance. At first I was rather dismayed, but I emailed CRKT and they were quick to respond. They've got a rather generous parts replacement system, and I've got a new clip on the way to me free of charge. The metal on the clip is clearly something inferior like nickel. It looks and feels cheap. I'd say it's no big deal, but if these things keep snapping, surely at some point, CRKT will cut me off from free replacements.I'll update my review if it happens again or I have troubles receiving the replacement.

You'll really like this once you learn the thumb stud (see method in last paragraph of my review)
Confess to being a knife nut. Also confess to having a tub of knives that don't get the use I thought the design and its fundamentals would promise. To a certain extent I already had what I consider the great Gentlemen's EDC knives. 1.) Case teardrop pattern with wharncliffe blade. This guy fits in a pants pocket, feels smooth as a bar of soap, and just does the routine stuff like cutting pills, opening envelopes, cutting coupons, impromptu whittling, etc. like it was born for the task. 2.) An old Shrade melon tester/fruit knife. Plenty of NOS out there and the AG Rusell version of you want to be fancy. These are perfect to keep at your desk in a mug of pens ready to cut your fruit or lunch. Neither #1 or #2 has a tactical look to make you look like the Dwight Shrute of your office, and are perfect EDC/ use knives IMHO. But wanting a small unobtrusive locker I bought this piece. So onto this knife and the subject of this review. I was attracted to the elegant design. It fits the gray area between a small slip joint folder and a full size liner lock for me. Almost like a version of the Case Doctors knife with a scaled down CRKT Hissatsu blade. Seems fantastic. Definitely put together well for an affordable production knife.. Sharp enough for me out of the box. One plus is that the slim design feels totally unobtrusive clipped in the corner of the pocket. The critique of many is the thumb stud. It was initially mine. Keep in mind this is not the off the cuff review the day I got it. Have had this several mos. I thought this knife felt awkward and didn't work with my long slim fingers. It went in my aforementioned tub of knives that I bought cause they looked good on paper but didn't work for me. Attracted by its looks, I picked it up again. I also wanted a comfortable folder for walks my girlfriend and I take in wooded areas in the evenings. Now, onto the thumb stud. If you look at the thumb stud, you'll see it fits in a recessed angle that is almost a 45 degree angle. And that is the secret for me. You need to push your thumb up to the stud at this angle and this will flip open effortlessly. You also do better using the side of your thumb rather than the tip. Practice a half hour or so not looking at it and you'll have it down second nature. Try to push it at a 90 degree angle with the tip of your thumb and you will get frustrated.

Sharp, pointy, cheapish handle cover but good guts.
This thing is razor sharp and solid. Opens smooth and no wiggle at all. The knife itself is great. It's right hand open only and takes a little getting used to to open with the little stud. Closing also takes getting used to as the lock is a little hard to get to, but not a deal breaker. The grip plastic is half a millimeter or so too big so it is not totally flush with the knife body but I smoothed it out with sand paper and it's fine now. Your thumb rubs against the grip where the grip is larger than the knife body when unlocking. Small gripe for the price. Do not use this for prying. This is like a hard fillet knife. I would totally use this to clean small fish or cutting fibers or something. I bet it would make short work of a rope. *update, I carry this every day and can't even tell I have it. I love this thing. I updated to 5 stars.

Favorite knife - very sharp ! Use for work/home
Super sharp — cuts through like butter 🔥😮💨 I really like the size. It’s not too big and not too small — just right. The design is sleek and feels great in hand. I’m left-handed, and it’s still easy and comfortable for me to open and close. The grip on the handle is excellent and feels very secure.

Opens smoothly, sharp, nice workmanship, fun size
It opens smoothly with a light press or swipe on the flipper. And there is just the right amount of tension in the liner lock to easily start the close and to prevent the blade from falling shut. It's SO light, under 2oz, which makes it my lightest knife. I can hardly feel in in my pants pocket. I love how small it is and how low it carries. But the knife isn't short, it's just really thin/sleek. The black handle is slightly rounded - exposing no hard edges - making it comfortable to hold. It's not like many of my much larger knives and you do have to hold it a bit different. But part of what I like about knives is how different they are, and learning to handle a new knife, any knife, is a lot of the enjoyment. It flicks open quietly. You can be quite gentle with the flipper and it opens with a whisper. I think this is because the blade is thin and light and it doesn't bang with a lot of force. So when I figit - opening and closing as a nervous relief - it isn't that annoying to others. I reversed the pocket clip as I keep it in my left front pocket. The single T6 bolt came out fine. Then you just flip it around and bolt it back in. If you wanted to remove the clip you wouldn't have a bunch of threaded holes in the sides of your knife, just one on the end, and that actually looks okay. The blade came very sharp, sharp enough for me, right out of the box. I opened the mail with it, like a letter opener, when it arrived and it was obvious that it had a good edge. The typical cut the paper demo went very well. It's a great knife for the collection. I'll definitely be carrying it, not exclusively, but I don't think there exists a knife that I would carry exclusively. I like to match up the best knife for both my activities for the day and my mood! More than worth the price. I definitely recommend it.

Very attractive knife for an attractive price
My preference for EDC knives tend to be knives that are thin, simple, clean lines, and fairly low profile. As soon as I saw a picture of the CRKT CEO, I knew I had to get it. After a few weeks using this knife, I feel ready to share my thoughts. Styling: In my opinion, this knife is very handsome. The lines are very clean and straight, there is nothing that sticks out. It looks elegant and gentlemanly in its simplicity. I believe the styling makes this knife at home in my denim jeans pocket or in dress pants. Blade: The steel used for the blade isn’t the best out there but it’s also not the worst. For the price, I think it is a good compromise. Mine arrived with clean machining but the edge was not really that great. Other CRKT knives I’ve received in the past come much sharper out of the box. Fit/finish: Fit and finish of the knife are very good. The blade locks up tight, machining is very good, and overall I think this knife looks like it costs more than it actually does. Negatives: I have just a few gripes about the knife after using it for the last few weeks: 1. I prefer tip up carry and the pocket clip of the knife is set up for tip down. I prefer to be able to reach into my pocket, grab the knife, and flip it open as it clears my pocket with no need to readjust my grip - hence tip up carry. I find myself still stumbling a bit when I pull this knife out due to trying to overcome the muscle memory of most of my other knives. This gripe is probably more of a personal opinion but it has been the most difficult thing to get used to with the knife. 2. The very bottom of the knife handle has some sharp corners. The handle scales and bottom piece form some slightly sharp edges that can dig into your hand during use. I would like to see the metal at the bottom of the knife blended better into the scales to smooth that area out and make it more comfortable for using. That’s about all I have on the knife so far. Overall, I think this is a very attractive knife for an attractive price. I’m happy with my purchase.
