TP-Link AV1000 Powerline Ethernet Adapter, Gigabit Port, Add-On Unit

I saw this device once buts not interested on buying yet. My younger son ask me to buy it in order to get better reception of his PS5, he had the console connected directly to a ethernet but he moved his space to another part of the house and had not access to it anymore. He was the reason I opted to buy this system, I had my doubts about it but all that went away and we are very satisfy with the results that I opted to buy an add on unit for my 65" Smart TV. We have at home a 300mb download internet service and most of the time we receive thru the devices between 100 and 125 constantly, I don't know if that is good or bad but my kid is happy because his games don't lag anymore and we have a constant speed while streaming via the Smart TV. The installation is really simple and and does not need any attention or follow thru, once set is set. The ones we have are the Ethernet ones, feed the device via cable (NOT Wi-FI).

Im on the opposite side of the house from my ethernet cord and I didn't want to run a wire through out the entire house just so I can get an ethernet connection on my devices here. This product let me just run it through the powerline and enjoy an ethernet connection through that without having to worry about long cords though out the house. My gripes with this though are how it seemingly loses connection on rare occasion and I'll have to pair it again. Or how sometimes I'll experience high latency and I just swap to Wifi till it blows over. While those situations are annoying this product still is a great solution to alot of issues regarding ethernet connections though out houses.

These were really straight-forward to set up. (I use them for my solar system monitoring.) Just plug in the first, wait for the LEDs to settle, then press the link button. Plug in the next within 2 minutes and press the link button (when ready) and that's it. (You also need to connect the ethernet cables.) So far, no noticeable drop-outs. And they are more secure than my old units that died.

This thing is buns. First off, it comes as a single adapter, you NEED 2 of these for either to function, it plugs into a wall next to your router, and then at the location you need the Ethernet. Second, it does not deliver anywhere NEAR your internet speed. The ad promises decent connection, up to 1000mbps. My WiFi is 1000mbps, this was giving me 18mbps. I made sure I did everything correctly, through support and everything, it’s just a bad product, save your money.

I am giving this three stars although I can honestly say that I did not open the package to use it. The reason it gets the three stars is that I did purchase the AV 2000 model which has a pass-through outlet on it. That one I definitely would give five stars to because it was easy to set up and worked very quickly out of the box. It also has the pass-through outlet which allowed me to re-plug in the power strip that was originally in the outlet. I did, however, order the newer model of the AV 1000 which does have a pass-through outlet. I will review that when I receive it.

I was wrong. I'm sure these work absolutely great when using two of these adapters, but I accidentally ordered a single unit, which is my own fault, and I can't return it, and I found a better alternative anyway, so here's four stars to make up for it.
