Easy on an empty stomach.

I've needed to take iron supplements as long as I can remember. Regular iron pills resulted in constipation and severe stomach cramps. Gentle iron made me vomit. I took a slow release that I cut in half and was able to tolerate it. My iron levels were finally normal, but those pills caused so much burping, which might not sound that bad. Try to imagine so much burping that it was that bad. This OptiFerin-C has been amazing for me! I have no side effects and my iron levels are good. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. I also wish that the bottle came in a higher pill count.

the crazy thing is that this helped so much with energy, and feeling less cold and fatigued but my ferritin did not move. my ferritin was still a 6 while taking this mid-summer last year and when I took my blood test in January this year, it was still a 6 :( it did help my serum iron rise from 30 to 39. my doctor thinks it's because the elemental iron is too low for me (i'm very iron deficient) but I think this is perfect for maintenance once ferritin rises! this brand was super gentle on my stomach as well and i took it every other day (make sure not to consume dairy, tea, fiber, PPIs, calcium/zinc, or magnesium within 2+ hours of taking this). iron is such a complex mineral and certain forms of iron work in some people while not working for others.

Works really well. My blood works shows my iron levels gone back to normal. More importantly my body tolerate it well.

i am 48, and in perimenopause, and i feel i should say this because low iron can often be mistaken for symptoms of perimenopause. the lethargy, moodiness, anxiety, depression, etc., are ALL symptoms of many things, but when you’re my age, almost any thing can be traced back to hormones. i already take a menopausal supplement that helps tremendously with mood and energy, and a multivitamin, but hormones are always fleeting and changing. in this case, my last few blood tests have revealed that i’m anemic so my doctor gave me a prescription for an iron pill. these things were HUGE and so awful on my stomach. after a week of blowing the toilet to smithereens, i stopped taking them. my doctor was sympathetic but still stayed on me to find something that works for me, so i gave these a try. i’m almost done with the first bottle i ordered so i will be ordering more. they are a lot easier on my stomach and after about a month, i noticed more consistency with BMs. as far as anything else goes, i guess i can tell that i have a bit more energy, but from what i’ve read, a severe depletion in iron takes a while to build up to a normal level again, so perhaps by the end of the next bottle, i’ll see a difference. i have given this 4 stars only due to that and did not expect a miracle to begin with. these are easy to swallow, and i love that they contain Vitamin C as well, because iron needs that to perform its best. i believe they are doing their job and if i continue to take them, i’ll see the results and so will my doctor and then she can hush about my iron levels.

Effective iron supplements no bad taste no side effect I take it empty stomach with plenty water. It’s does bings my iron levels up when need it.
