Europeโs most infamous city remains one of its most popular, and not without good reason: between its world-class art museums, its eminently wanderable canals and its coffee shops that donโt exactly specialize in coffee, its variety is glorious indeed. However, with one of Europeโs more forward-thinking cultural scenes and striking new architectural developments in IJburg and the Bijlmermeer, thereโs much more here to enjoy than the clichรฉs; written, researched and edited entirely by locals, the Time Out Amsterdam guide will tell travelers all about it. Highlights: Amsterdam after dark: the best restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the city, but also the ones to avoid Mini-guides to the cityโs most notable works of art, and where to find them An unmatched section on the cityโs modern-day cultural scene: galleries and performance art, classical music and theater An in-depth look at the cityโs stunning new urban architecture Trips Beyond Amsterdam, to the flower auction in Aalsmeer, the cheese market at Gouda and the windmills of Alblasserdam, and also to the fizzing modern city of Rotterdam Review: Love Time Out Guides - I haven't actually gone to Amsterdam yet, but I have booked a hotel for when I do and I have gleaned a ton of practical knowledge for my trip. I am excited! Review: Five Stars - excellent

Time Out Amsterdam City Guide
Time Out Amsterdam: City Guide is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early July. Like most city guides, this one lists places to eat and stay, itineraries, events, and where you go to appreciate art, history, and architecture with the help of little maps and symbols, like stars or dollar signs, but this guide is really able to convey the heart and depth of culture that Amsterdam really has to offer.

Great city guide and useful information
Love Time out books always up to date hip, traditional and off the beaten track places and venues to check out. They also recommend a variety of activities of varied price ranges for those on a budget or who want a special treat. Would recommend.

Brilliant!
This guide is excellent. Interesting to read, good, critical advice and easy to use. This is what the Lonely Planet used to be like before they sold out and became boring and pc. This is a proper guide that tells you what is good or not (the Lonely Planet will just tell you that everything is good). I wish Time Out would write these again.

perfect but three years old....
Yes. I'd bought three guides and only used Timeout. Too bad Timeout doesn't publish updates any more.... Timeout guides are the best I've found for every city.
