KATUR 9012 Headlight Bulb, 80W 16000LM 6000K
KATUR 9012 Headlight Bulb, 80W 16000LM 6000K - HIR2 I recently changed my car to an 2016 insignia and was very disappointed with the forward illumination, the headlights were near useless! I tried some xenon gas filament bulbs which were a little better but not much. so returned them. I then tried 2 different types or LED bulbs, the first had a huge fan on the back which meant it was difficult to replace the back cover and I noticed it would press down on the bulb forcing the headlight pattern down lowering the beam making it worse! I returned them and went for a slim two sided LED bulb similar to these, I noticed the LED's were set in to a recess with plastic around them, they were bright but because of recess the light could not get fully out and cast a noticeable shadow in the light pattern.. returned them! I then chose these KATUR 9012/HIR2 bulbs... WOW they were the brightest yet! Because of the slim profile the shadow was minimal, you can see it but not noticeable, the fan is also not as deep so there are no issues replacing the back cover on the headlight, they are adjustable so make sure the blade is vertical when in the located position. My only criticism is the fans are louder than I would like, not that bad but you can hear them from outside the car, more so when the engine is off, my car has tunnel detection so when I unlock the car in the garage the headlights turn on, the noise is not a big deal and should not put you off buying these. In my experience these are the best I have tried, instant light when you flash or turn them on, I would recommend checking/adjusting the headlight alignment as on my car the beam was very low, I have raised this so when following cars it doesn't go higher then rear number plates but it does illuminate road signs REALLY well!

Very impressed with the Brightness
After using these lights in my vehicle for over 12 months now, I've decided to review this. The Brightness is truly satisfying. Long gone are the days when my lights got drowned out by other vehicles. It's a great upgrade from the standard non-LED lights, and it makes a great difference when driving on the motorway in pitch black with zero visibility of what's ahead. The previous non-LED lights didn't pierce the dark far enough but, with these lights I can see as far as possible and have great view of what's ahead. The installation was very straightforward, only annoyance for me was my OBC didn't pick up the new installation and it kept warning me that one of my dipped lights weren't operational, which of course isn't true. Both are still powering through as normal and I hope I can get many more months out of this. I'd buy this again.

Nice and bright. Easy to fit

Brilliant white, with even spread and good penetration.
Quick delivery. Simple instructions. Easy to fit - just watch the polarity. Fitted easily behind the dust covers on my C4 Picasso. No canbus errors. I fitted them to the dipped beam lights, and they produce an intense, white light that overwhelms the main beams: I'll replace them with the same bulbs. I've only had these a week but they really have improved night vision- and, so far, I haven't been flashed by a single oncoming car. My one caveat is that these bulbs replaced Katur "minis", which were initially very good but one of which quickly became "blobby" and failed after a year. If you can get them to fit into your headlamps, these bulkier new bulbs are markedly better for only a few € more. I just hope they last longer. One star off value meantime. Edit 05.03.22 I have now fitted these bulbs to the main beam lights. Superb. And the combination of main and dipped beams just transforms night driving.

Katur H11 LED Bulbs work perfectly in my SUV...
The Katur H11 LED Bulbs work perfectly and produce a very bright beam, exactly as described, if not better. This is true even in difficult driving conditions like fog or rain. I am very satisfied and would buy this and other products from this brand again without hesitation. I recommend wearing the included white gloves during installation to prevent grease and salt residue from your fingers from coming into contact with the LEDs.

Disappointing Longevity & Poor Customer Support
I initially had high hopes for the KATUR H7 LED headlight bulbs. For the first seven months, they performed well, providing bright and clear illumination. However, one bulb started to dim on one side, creating blind spots on the road at night. Unfortunately, the second bulb followed the same pattern within another month, making night time driving unsafe. I attempted to contact KATUR multiple times for support, but I received no response. Eventually, I had to go through Amazon to process a return and refund. Thankfully, Amazon's customer service provided peace of mind, but my experience with KATUR’s lack of support was frustrating. While these bulbs may work well initially, their poor durability and lack of customer service make them a risky investment. I would not recommend KATUR to anyone looking for reliable LED headlights.

Brilliant - literally!
Bought these in HB3 for a 2005 Subaru Legacy full beam. The lenses are in pretty good condition without much clouding, I’d already polished them with T-cut and sealed them, and there was only a tiny amount of discolouration on the inside of the lenses left after this process, which I’ve had to do on other older cars which were quite bad. It’s worth doing that yourself if that’s an issue on your car headlight lenses, I use paint rubbing compound first if it’s bad, then T-cut, using a polishing pad and furry buffer on a slow drill setting,, then lens sealer. I’ve seen brave people using acetone (nail polish remover) and sanding kits on YouTube but that’s a bit high-risk for my liking. Apparently toothpaste also works! I’d already tried my default favourite halogen Osram Nightbreakers, which didn’t really cut it still, so I then tried Philips Ultinon LEDs, which were disappointingly not much better and were also very fiddly to install. These use a similar base plate adjustment bayonet type click to turn and adjust arrangement to the Philips, but it’s much less fiddly and to be honest on full beam applications there isn’t much need for adjustment as there is so much light produced it’s plentiful. On that note I’d say these things are like night and day, if I were to guess I’d say 4 times brighter than halogens and nearly the same over the Philips. Since I’m using HB3s there are no issues with the fans fitting as they’re external to my light fixings and housings and I have space for them in my car, and as they’re on main beam I don’t hear the fans as main beam isn’t used much at low speed or stationary. The one thing to note about these is that they use external ‘ballast’ units (transformers) which are roughly matchbox-sized on a short lead from the bulb, which the car’s headlight cable then connects into. This may be a plus or a minus point depending on how easy your bulbs are to access and how much space they have around them. I guess it reduces the overall size of the bulb units and moves some of the heat source away from the headlight too. I had no polarity or CANBUS issues on my car with these. The connectors are reversible if polarity is an issue. Whether they’ll pass an MOT or not I won’t know until next summer, but I kept the halogens in the car just in case. The light is whiter than halogens of course, but not too blue-ish for my liking. There are central ‘hot-spots’ on the beam due to my headlight design, but focusing these wasn’t an issue and because there is so much more light and I’m using for full beam, it’s perhaps less of an issue here than it might be on dipped beam applications. One last thing to note, the manufacturer info states them as being 40W power consumption per bulb* (halogens are 65W and older tungsten 45W used on some classic cars) so they draw less current and there’s less worry about burning out wiring. *The ballasts are labelled 80W though. I assume this to be wrong as the detailed info states ‘per set’ and ‘per bulb’ in several places. I’ve not experienced or heard of any issues with plastic/polycarbonate car headlight lenses or silver coated ABS reflectors suffering any heat damage from these sorts of bulbs, I guess that’s largely a result of the cooling fans. The bulb bases themselves are ABS-type material so I’m sure they’re also heat resistant. All in all I’m very happy.

Second time lucky
2nd attempt at fitting these H7 leds. Once the adaptor rings are sourced and bought it's straight forward to fit. Only real problem is the adaptor turns in the holder when trying to set the beam allowing the whole thing to come out. Need to hold the ring in place with a small sharp screwdriver then turn the led for best light pattern. I fitted HB3 LEDs at the same time which were much easier as no adaptor ring is required. Beam pattern takes time to get right but once done the lights are excellent, very bright white light with no dark spots. Now I have decent light output I can see both headlamps need raising slightly to project the beams further. Just have to wait for MOT time to see if they pass even though they're illegal. Oddly, the box they arrive in has the CE RoHS marking.

Finalmente
