Are these pans, tefal e304s244 frying pan, 28cm, 24cm, jamie oliver, stainless steel, really 3.46 inches (8.7cm) tall?

Mine are 2.46 inches tall for the 28cm pan and a little less for the 24cm pan. They are good even heat and very non stick.

Is the underside of the grip padded?

No, although it is rounded and smooth. Stainless steel so it can go into the oven.
