Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac, Traditional Finish & Sealer, Clear, 12oz Spray

I love this stuff, easy to work with, gives a nice finish. A little smelly but it clears quickly.

Been using this brand Shellac for many many years. Excellent product and spray can works very well. Be sure to really shack it well before applying. Their brush on shellac is Excellant as well.

I had a project of painting two tables with chalk paint and it was suggested that I use a primer if the wood on the object was dark or had a stain that 'could' bleed through. So I used this product as a primer and it did work but I think I should have used two coats instead of one. One coat dries very quickly. Overall, my projects came out beautifully but I def should have used two coats of this shellac. The finish on this left my tables not too shiny but enough for the paint to glide on effortlessly.

As described

Over the last 3-4 years of a 5-year-old deck, one of the boards began oozing sap through a 2-ft. grain line. Researching the problem said to heat the area with a heat gun to drive out the sap, clean it up, and then apply shellac to seal the area. A lot of sap oozed out, which I cleaned up with a scraper and mineral spirits. For good measure, I brushed on a thin layer of stain, let it dry for a day, and sprayed on the shellac. I have very little experience with shellac but "Zinsser" and "Bulls Eye" were familiar to me. The spray went on and left a gloss. No problem - after it dried, I knocked off the gloss with Scotch Brite and then applied a water-based stain to the whole deck. The stain seemed to stick. The shellac spray was easy to apply, dried quickly, and didn't leave a brush to be cleaned. Can't ask for more.

This is my second can of this shellac. It sprays on fairly easily, as long as it is not done in a damp setting. I did get a white film and had to sand and re apply one day, as it was too damp out. But this is true for any shellac, I guess. It needs to be done with plenty of ventilation. It dries quickly but very shiny. I had to use a wax buffed on to de shine a bit. I am happy with the finish, especially to antiques because most of what I am resurfacing are antiques with shellac already on and this makes it easy to add some extra protection to some pieces where the finish is almost gone .

Works great easy to coat. You may need several coats, but it works well and has a beautiful shine after drying. Just note that this is not waterproof or for use in items that will be in direct water contact.

I use it to seal my wood carving pieces with the original wood color. It is perfect for me and very easy to apply.

Product is fantastic but just do not buy it from Amazon.ae as they are unable to ship to Dubai but are quite happy to sit on your money for as long as they can.

Great product, however this is not clear dewaxed super blonde Shellac and that is not mentioned on the bottle either. This will leave a very light golden tint. Apart from that this is a good product.
