I’m kinda a knife snob. Most of my knives are made in Japan and are very expensive. But that also means I use them, clean them up, then put them away. They never get thrown in the sink, and I only use them for “ air cuts” or cutting into a cutting board, never cutting into plates of trays. So I have a couple of cheaper knives that I use for cutting on plates and leaving in the sink until I do the dishes. And dispite sharpening them often and some times using a steel just before I use them, they are dangerous dull. I hate them!so I decided to try some new cheap knives. I use a paring knife the most of any style, so I did a search on Amazon and ordered a number of knives that were under $30 each. I very much liked the idea that these were made in the USA. When they arrive I tried then against the hair on the back of my arm. They are truly “ razor sharp “ as they cleanly shaved the hair on my arm. Next I tried cutting some nice big thick carrots switching knives on every other cut. I put aside each knife I felt was harder to cut with, until two of the three Best were from this set. Next I did almost the same thing with potatoes, and the apples. Then I switched to ripe tomatoes. All along the way I would make cuts wits with a very expensive Japanese knife. In the end, one of these silver handled knives came up the winner. The short answer, these $5.00 knives were close enough to knives costing many times more, that I would consider them equal. So how do they hold up? Well so far, they have held there edge very well. I can’t tell you how they sharpen, because they haven needed sharpening yet. These knives are an outstanding value!

These are sooooo sharp. I hope they stay that way.! They are the perfect size to fit in your hand, especially when peeling vegetables.
