J.T. Eaton 704-PN Bait Block, Solid, 1 oz, Pail

The rodents (field mice and rats) ignored the bait at first. Several weeks later, I tried again and they started chewing on them. Then, I had to keep putting them out (in the safe places that I chose), for about six weeks until they all died and there was untouched bait. Several months passed, so I checked back and not only had they returned and had eaten the remnants, but they found the bucket of bait which had been half full or so, and had chewed holes in it and finished off all the bait. (see pic) So I'm sold on this now. I don't like bait and the smell of rotting rodents, and the flies, but these rodents were too smart for all the other methods, and I tried them all (sticky traps, live capture, spring traps, bucket traps). I would catch one or two at first, then nothing. Butter seemed to be their favorite, unless it was with a trap, but I tried peanut butter, cooked chicken, etc. I've also had to keep water out for them, so they won't chew into my plastic water lines again.

(Warning is at bottom) Not sure why some people are having the opposite experience, but this stuff works. I have bought it twice a few months apart. The first time was for rats that had found a way into my attic thru my crawlspace (which I'd thought I'd blocked them out of!). I put some up there every day, about 4 to 5 blocks, and they disappeared Day 1 and Day 2. The rats were running around up there having the time of their lives, they loved it and devoured it. Day 3 there were fewer eaten. Day 4 or maybe 5, this is the sad part, I heard what sounded like whimpering in my attic. It sounded very much like a puppy crying (I thought it was coming from outside at first!). I'm pretty sure it was the rat that was eating up all those blocks. Then, my house was silent. Unfortunately a few days later I heard another one make its way into the attic, probably following the pheromones from the previous one. I did the same thing and that one disappeared, no crying fortunately. No smell either, I think they both went outside to die somewhere. I blocked up what I thought were the entrances and I didn't have any noticeable problems for a few months. Recently, I had smelled the god-awful smell of rodent urine coming through my crawlspace up into my living area and I knew they made their way in again - and so, I bought these baits again. I used bait stations outside in three spots and they were disappearing steadily. Within a few days, I smelled the funk of dead animal. I knew one was dead, probably in my crawlspace. I looked around outside, couldn't find anything. A week later when that funk had FINALLY cleared, boom, dead animal funk again. And like 15+ flies in my house. Another one was dead, and this time super strong. Apparently, it found its way in a kitchen wall or just under. I saw 1 maggot on my kitchen floor the next day, so, yeah, that was traumatic. If there were more, I probably would've fainted. I have an old house w cracks and crevices, so it crawled from wherever (I shudder to think). This was maybe 3 days ago. Anyhow, I refilled the bait stations when I got home today (well, one station - the others are still full). Maybe an hour ago I heard something on the side of the house that the rats seemed to favor. It kind of sounded like wailing or heavy sighing in animal form. I can't confirm if it was a rat (maybe was a possum or raccoon because those pass by sometimes; idk if they make sounds like that, though). But I would feel really bad if it were a suffering rat. I've tried to block them out, but they just keep coming back and being more invasive, so you do what you have to do. Anyhow, no scritching heard tonight. If you have a rat issue, I would recommend these (over other brands I've tried). (1) They will definitely eat it; and (2) It will definitely kill. But if you have a soft spot in your heart, just be warned that sometimes these animals whimper and cry when they're in pain or distressed, so prepare yourself just in case. IN BRIEF: it works, but rats may make noises of distress and you may see maggots if they die in or under your home.

Now, this is a story all about how my life got flip-turned upside down... But seriously. So for a couple of months I've noticed droppings and other proof of a mouse. I've been in this house almost 10 years and have never had an issue before. Never actually saw a mouse but I I knew they were there. Researched what to do. Finally about a week ago I ordered the wall plugs with the high pitch that is supposed to make them crazy and drive them out. It made them crazy alright. Over the next few days I had multiple sightings of them OUT IN THE OPEN. I'd had enough. I couldn't handle that AT ALL. So after reading reviews I bought these little guys. Can't say I know the taste, but they smell pretty good. They arrived Thurs and I immediately put a few in each of the spots I've noticed them. Checked back a few hours later and THEY WERE ALL GONE. So I put out more. This happened each time I put them out. So either I'm just feeding them, they're stockpiling them, or they're dying a long, slow death. Yesterday morning (Sunday) I saw a dead mouse up near the outside of the house. I didn't know if it was a coincidence or if it came outside to die. But from the reviews and research, I figured this stuff hadn't had long enough to work. But that was one less in my house. Last night, there was one dead in the middle of my living room floor! That can't be a coincidence. So they have started dropping off faster than I expected. When I checked this morning, the two pellets I put out last night were gone, so there's still something, but that's 2 down. I'd say it must be working. Me-2 mice-who knows how many I have left 🤷 I'll try to remember to update in a week or so, but I'll probably forget. Hopefully I'll be mouse free and relaxed again. We shall see. Update- I actually remembered. It's been a week since I saw 2 dead mice, and I haven't seen anymore dead ones but it's also been since Tuesday or Wednesday since they've removed any bait. I cleaned up all their mess, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if any more mess is made. So far I feel it did its job!

This is my second purchase, and it works really well!.

This stuff works. It rings the dinner bell for al those little meeces. Then all of a sudden, there's no more feeders on the blocks. If you have no pets, you can leave it in strategic places around the home. If you have pets, you're going to have to use the old fashioned wooden mouse traps. I'd strongly recommend you wear rubber gloves while handling the blocks and cleaning up any loose residue.

Effective squirrel deterent.

I don't live on a farm or in the woods so it makes me wonder if this is working. They sure love eating the hell out of this stuff as I restock daily and they eat every bit. They even pull the rod off. Problem is, unless I have an enormous rat problem, they are eating through this bucket like fire. I haven't seen activity stop - I keep blocking the burrows and one by my back wall, it still gets dug out so something is sure going in and out. They've been eating these for more than 4 days now (5 blocks each night) and still going. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just feeding them at this point. I will update day 10 Note: I just rechecked - this is first gen anticoagulant so it takes longer and multiple feedings. Apparently the search thew in similar but not exactly as I thought. If you need faster, look for second gen or nerve agent.

Lil critters eat it like candy havent heard them so think its working bought it in past to donate to a garden rats was everywhere it worked to control them but this time had to get for apartment lazy super pilling trash behind the building that they have taken over

The mice ate the blocks but didn't die. They ate about 4-5 blocks over about a week, but they didn't die and are still alive and healthy.
