Are you coping with loved one addicted to drugs or suspected of addiction? Bob, with sections by his daughter, Hannah, will walk you through sixteen years of raising children who got addicted to drugs, spent time in jail, and ultimately, one of his children committed suicide on June 18, 2014. This is a story of restoration, redemption, faith, and hope in the midst of chaos and disaster, but with guidance along the way, for the reader to learn from Bob and Hannah's experiences. The aim of this book is to help others who are struggling with the abuse and/or the addictions of a loved one. Each chapter ends with lessons learned from Bob or Hannah's experiences. If you are dealing with a loved one and struggling to understand what is going on and what you can do to work through the situation or perhaps, you just plan to have children some day, read this book and give it all up to prayer as you seek His guidance in your situation. Review: An eye-opener! Couldn't put it down!!! - I'm a career-mom of 2 young children and reading this book was such an eye-opener for me and my husband! The author was so candid, telling it like it is, what it's really like to be around and to love addicted children. The end of each chapter had a "lessons learned" section that was so helpful for reiterating all those key points I didn't want to forget. Raising kids in a good, moral Christian home, being in good schools & neighborhoods with extremely devoted parents, still didn't protect their family from the evil of drug addiction. I am so glad I read this book while my kids are still young. I was so touched by the love these parents had for their children going on the 'front lines' to help them. It was also so reaffirming to read the author's connection to the spiritual aspect of all the lessons their family endured. The author's account in Chapter 6 was so vivid, I felt like I was there in that garage too. I simply couldn't put the book down! Having Hannah's personal account in this book was so important...seeing things from her perspective - it made my reading experience even more real. I am rooting for Hannah and I hope we will get a readers' update on her success story. So many lives can be saved & changed by reading this book. I strongly recommend it to anyone but especially for parents of younger children who may not have any issues yet but who can benefit from the guidance and insight this book offers. Review: A must read book - This is a must read book. I personally know Bob Mitchell and Hannah Mitchell, Bob was my former boss and Hannah worked in the same office but only for a short period of time. I can't imagined what Bob and his wife, Angie went through raising their children who were drug addicts. They're very devoted and loving parents who did not give up on their children. Drugs are evil. Real life events in this book is heartbreaking to read let alone lived through them. God bless the Mitchell Family.

but I was totally pleased to see how their faith sustained them
This book tells a life story that should be a novel. Once you start reading it, you will keep reading to find out what happens. The eye opening part of this book is that it is true life story of a Christian family whose 3 children found their way into drug abuse. I thank God that has a parent of grown children I never had to experience the tragedy of this book, but I was totally pleased to see how their faith sustained them, and shows there is hope in any terrible life event, if you trust in God. Every parent of young children should read this, or if you have a drug abuse problem. Also if you are a person of faith, this book will build that faith. Thank you Bob and Hannah for taking on this difficult task, and creating such a wonderful book

Drug addiction can happen to any kid.
A must read for all parents, Aunts, Uncles, siblings, etc! I know Mr. Mitchell from high school days. I was glued to this book which opened my eyes to the fact that drug addiction could happen to any kid, mine included. Although I didn't experience what he and his wife went through, I don't consider my family immune to this. My heart goes out to the Mitchell family and the heartache they are experiencing. Thank you Bob and Angie for writing this account of your experience with the intent of helping others. Also, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for his comforting hand through this crisis.

Wow, what a powerfully written, sad story, as told though the eyes of a father!!
As parents, Bob and Angie's love for their children are clearly evident throughout the reading of this book! When something as tragic as suicide happens within a your community, let alone within your own family, one doesn't know what to say or how to react to the loved ones left to carry their burden. Can't imagine getting through it and continuing on! Bob's vivid recounting in Chapter six is breathtaking! Be prepared to have your tissue box close by! Thank you to Mr. Mitchell and Hannah for allowing us into your family's very tragic personal story!! God bless you all!

A Must Read
Incredibly transparent account written by a father who suffered the loss of a son over addiction and withdrawal while dealing with his daughter in jail. Both father and daughter share their struggles, challenges over the grief of a son and brother and victory overcoming addiction. This book hits home, "anyone" can become or have a family member addicted to drugs and suffer its repercussions. This book is insightful, hits home with good advise for a mother, father, sister, brother, friend and grand parent - a must read. MMC

no matter how much love there is in the home
Mr. Mitchell's tragic loss and how his family dealt with the crisis with God's help and guidance is compelling reading. It is a clear reminder to all of us that addiction can strike any family, no matter how much love there is in the home. The book is well written and provides unique insight into how drug addiction can tear a family apart but ultimately that faith is the primary component to the healing process.

... Drug Addicts is a real testimony of the unconditional love and devotion of parents who refuse to give up ...
Raising Drug Addicts is a real testimony of the unconditional love and devotion of parents who refuse to give up on their children no matter the cost. It is written in a very honest and truthful manner, I believe, to achieve the goal of helping others in need. I highly recommend it to those that are in immediate need for help in this circumstance or simply to be informed of the signs to prevent your loved ones from becoming addicted to drugs. You will find resources and information to help point you in the write direction to seek help as a loved one or drug addict. Thank you to the Mitchells for this painful contribution to make the world a better place.
