This form lowers LDL cholesterol and raises HDL cholesterol, while also providing the typical energy boost that niacin is known for. Magnesium stearate is a salt added to assist flow of product in a factory. Supposedly it's GRAS and in amounts to low to be harmful, but is it? There are other things that could be used to achieve the same end. Nutricost is a brand I purchase a lot but not all their stuff is clean. I accept this because this form of niacin is what I want and options are few.

HOLY FLUSH!!! IMMEDIATE REACTION! Within 10 minutes my lips, face, chest and arms were ON FIRE! I could feel it before I even looked. My fiancé walked out and immediately said “WHY ARE YOU BEAT RED?!?” So it definitely works but this is way too intense for me. Bumping down to a 50mg or 25mg. TAKE IT AFTER EATING. Not WITH food, AFTER food. Dang.

So I have mixed reviews here. While I'm aure that the product itself is quite decent I had a reaction that I now have come to know as "The Niacin Flush". I took a capsule as soon as I got them. I was excited. I had just bought several new supplements and I was eager to try them. Well about 1-1 1/12 hours later I started feeling hot. Ok I need to turn my aor on. A few minutes after that my lips started burning, then my face, and finally my chest and arms are 🔥 burning on fire. I felt as though I was being attacked by fire ants and needles all at the same time and at the rate of the speed of light! I didn't know what was happening. I was waiting for my throat to close. I yell to my husband "something is wrong, I need a doctor stat. My throat never started closing so I calmed down by the slightest bit and began to think " What in the H.E. double hockey sticks is going on? What did i do?" After racking my brain, all the while feeling like I was being microwaved it dawned on me.......could it be the niacin? So I head to my doctor on call...Google...and find out that yes indeed it was the Niacin Flush. Perfectly harmless, so they say. Upon further reading I found that there is a whole slew of folks that LIKE the way it feels. I myself absofrickenlutely am not one of them. So to anyone who is not familiar with this I say..BEWARE.

This is the good Niacin that all the positive research has results are based on. Read your supplement labels. Chances are high that your taking what's being sold as a Niacin substitute. If it doesn't make you flush it isn't working. If the flush is unbearable 1 start with a lower dose and work up to higher doses. 2 take after a meal on a full stomach. 3 expect a flush. If you're not getting at least some flush you're wasting your time, money and effort.

The capsules are simple to take and don’t require any special timing beyond my morning dose. Dosage: I usually take 2 capsules in the morning. About 90% of the time I don’t experience a flush at that dose. If I take 3 capsules, flushing happens about 50% of the time, and with 4 capsules it almost always occurs. It’s helpful to have that predictable response depending on dosage. Odor: No noticeable odor, which makes them easy to take. Energy: I do feel a noticeable boost in energy and alertness after taking it, especially in the morning. Pill Size: The capsules are a reasonable size and easy to swallow without issue. Overall, this is a solid niacin supplement that works well for energy support and general wellness. The flushing effect is there depending on dosage, but it’s manageable once you understand how your body responds.

This version has given me intense hot flashes with all over prickly sensations. Maybe just me but…
