Easy to attach
This YakTrak product is easy to attach to your shoes and the Velcro strap over the top of the shoe should keep them in place.

Great choice for walking in winter conditions, especially ice!
These yantrax spikes are the best product for ice. I put them on my shoes at the start of the season and they stay put until springtime. They do take a bit of effort to get them on your shoes and I did not want to go through that effort to take them off and on so I dedicated a pair of boots for my winter walks. Not suitable for indoor use and they will catch on carpets and mar flooring.

2019-2026 and still going strong
Purchased Feb. 2019 and now in 2026 going to purchase a spare set. Wear them for a one mile commute to work on sketchy roads and sidewalks. They have saved many times from a fall. Nothing works perfect on smooth and wet ice, however, these give you a much better chance when common sense is utilized. Walk slow and keep a slight lean forward, this keeps you center of balance a bit forward so your feet don't kick out in front of you as many falls work out. Kinda tough to train yourself to walk this way, however, it is much better than going down near traffic and getting run over. This set from 2019 is working well although showing some rust because of the chemicals applied by road crews. AND, I neglect to rinse them as I know I should. No fault of the Yaktrax design in my opinion. Rubber is still like new. I really have nothing bad to say about them aside from the cat hates the sound of them on my feet.

Runs small but does the job
I believe I am one of the *most* qualified people to review these chains. Why? Because I'm Australian. Ice is not my natural predator. I don't understand it, I don't expect it, and I have fallen on it many many times in the past. I need all the help I can get, and if a product is no good, I WILL end up on my butt. Wore these chains around the icy towns and tourist locations of Norway and Iceland. I was also with a senior (late 70s) who has never experienced these conditions before. Neither of us ever slipped, while people around us not wearing chains slipped and fell. We both felt that these did an excellent job for the basic conditions we were in (pavement, iced over paths in national parks, etc). I felt sure on my feet and they provided good traction. They were also easier and more comfortable to walk on normal pavement with than the crampons that have actual spikes on them, and didn't feel like they were damaging the path. THEY DO RUN SMALL. The size guide says my boots should fit into an S. I had to return an S, and an M, before finally fitting into an L.
