Great for sprouting grains!
I’ve been using these for sprouting wheat grains for my chickens and they work well and are durable for the price. If too many sprouts are grown at once it becomes very difficult to pull out. They stack well when in use and are nice and compact when not in use. They wash out well with no left over residue.

Great nutrition for my chickens
I was interested in growing wheatgrass in the winter for my chickens to get some added nutrition. I did a lot of research and obviously I was looking for something on the cheap side so I ended up picking this. I’m glad I did. My experience so far has been nothing but positive. I set up to do a rotation every three days which is why I chose this product with multiple trays. I run 4 stages for a total of 12 days. On the morning of the third day(72 hours), I pull the fully grown tray to feed to the chickens and I take a clean tray and add a half cup of seed into the green base and fill it with about a half inch of warm water and let that sit until it’s bedtime. Then I pour it out into the white screen tray, put a half inch of water in the green bin, set the tray into the green bin and put the lid on it and that will sit until the next rotation. Every day, I spray water on the tray of seeds and the other trays get a half cup to 3/4 cup of water poured on them. As for the lids, I only use them on the first two trays. Once they move to the 3rd and 4th stage they are open without lids. Because the roots grow down from the screen tray, when I feed it to the chickens, I take a knife and cut the roots off, and I toss the roots along with the rest of the grass into the coop and they eat it all. The trays clean really nice. I tried running them after a quick rinse off in the dishwasher, but I stopped doing that because it seemed to warp the shape. It wasn’t a big deal because I just took that out and put some weight on it and it brought it back to square. Now I just hand wash. I have not had any mold issues but I wonder how it would be in the summer when it’s warmer. I have a spot that I grow my seedling for the garden each spring so I have just been using that with only one light on for 16 hours. This down time gives them rest and respiration. I really don’t think even need lights if you have a sunny window. All in all, I’m just super happy with this purchase. It wasn’t very expensive and it gets the job done.

Quality bigger seeds. For small seeds need additional medium
The quality of the plastic containers is great with size fitting nicely into a quarter sheet pan for ease of maneuverability when watering/draining. Only leaving four stars as the paper growing medium doesn’t break down at all and is prohibitive to root growth. Just ordered nylon mesh sheet to use in conjunction so i can grow broccoli, radish, etc. Overall is a great upgrade over my previous sprouting and mason jars where I was struggling with air flow.

Works great for sprouting lentils
I use these primarily for sprouting lentils for my chickens, and they work great. Easy to rinse and drain, and the trays make the whole process simple and mess-free. I’ve had consistent success with healthy sprouts and like having multiple trays going at once. Definitely a staple in my routine! 🐔🌱

great trays
These are great trays. I made pea sprouts and they came out as expected. It was fun to watch them grow. I will most likely to use it in the winter time to grow other sprouts. It's very rewarding to watch the seedlings become edible sprouts. It's easy to use. I would recommend.

Not for small sprouts
The material isn’t necessarily bad, but the holes are way too big for small sprouts. We returned it because of that.

Holes in trays not all open.
The trays are a nice size and good material. Some of the holes at the bottom of the tray weren’t fully opened. I’m wondering if that’s the reason why some of my wheat grass grew mold within a couple of days. I have since tried to break through the holes with something pointy but couldn’t get the pieces fully off. I will try growing again now and see if it’s better.

I got one broken tray and container. I don't have all the time in the world to keep replacing stuff.
