These are the coolest little spinning toys to engage little hands and minds! The children would sit for several minutes at a time trying to figure out how to get the top to spin and scream with excitement when the top flipped over and continued to spin on the handle! I used these with 3- and 4-year-old children in a Head Start program. They arrived as shown and were very smooth. It did take some practice to get the top to spin and flip, but the screams of excitement when they did flip was well worth the trial and error! I recommend this product.

There’s a bit of a learning curve with these, but they’re fun and different. It’s interesting that they flip themselves over as they spin, and that also gives you a neat little science demonstration if kids are using them (kinetic energy/gravitational potential energy). They’re good quality, heavy, and durable. Ours have flown off the table plenty of times and are still shiny and look new. If you haven’t used this type of top before, you start by spinning it like a regular top with the rounded side down. If you get the spin right, it will gradually flip itself over and keep spinning on the stem. In the end, it looks a little like a ballerina spinning around, and it's kinda funny. I’ve found that it’s less likely to go flying off the table if I start the spin just above the surface and let go right before it touches down. I hold it less than an inch above the table, get it spinning, and then basically let it drop straight down while it’s already rotating. For me, it doesn’t work quite like a regular top where you can set it directly on the table and give it a little downward pressure as you spin. When I try that, I seem to push it slightly to one side and send it across the table. That may just be a me thing, but starting the spin just above the surface has worked much better.

Great, amazing

These tops really are pretty cool. I've spun them over and over and I'm still amazed by the physics which makes them slowly rotate upside down to the top-heavy unstable position. I'm a science guy, and I still don't completely grasp why. As I mentioned in the title, the chrome one is bright, shiny, and just beautiful, but the gold top is anodized and looks cheap. Each comes in it's own small felt storage bag, which is a nice touch. Well worth the money.

I bought these to have something to do between calls at my job which is in a call center. And I found myself quite enjoying playing with these what I like is, if you spin them and they're a little bit off center they almost tip upside down and then start spinning upside down rather than the way they're supposed to. I'm sure based on their shape that is by design but that really amused me and gave me endless fun. Well worth the price for the amusement that I get out of them. Definitely better than a fidget spinner. The only downside that I personally see is the the metal where you spin it kind of starts feeling uncomfortable on your fingers after a while.

The silver top spins instantly. The gold top struggles to turn over onto the stem. Both arrived with their own storage pouches. Use them for 6th grade science experiment. The kids enjoy these if they spin on time.

fun for all

I was able to get one top to flip over but you have to give it a really hard spin. The second one just won't flip. It almost does, but never quite gets there. We had several people try. Just not great quality.

Excellent as advertised and fun

My kitty loves playing with this one. She gets bored of her toys quickly, so I’ve been looking for something new. Perfect fun good quality toy!
