Think Tank Photo RETROSPECTIVE V2.0 Series Shoulder Bag

I've been looking for a messenger bag that fit my needs for a long time. In short, I've wanted a bag that would carry my entire travel kit, while accommodating my work laptop (14" Macbook Pro) on work trips with a generic water bottle holder. This is the only one I found that was not too big, but carried everything I needed. (1 mirrorless camera, 2 lenses). Even after all of this, it still has room to spare for misc accessories. Best thing? This will count as a personal item, allowing me to carry on a cabin suitcase along with it! One feature that was not mentioned is that the waterbottle pocket also acts as slot to carry 1 additional lens - there is an internal padded flap that can be dropped down to give the bottom of the pocket extra padding. Think Tank has really thought this one through - and is on it's second revision for good reason. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a compact messenger

Great sling bag to carry Camera, 3or4 Lenses, Camera Batteries, Charger etc. I'm using it to carry my Canon R6 body, RF 50mm prime, RF 16mm prime, RF 100-400mm zoom along with 2x Batteries, Charger with cable, portable SSD drive and SD cards of course.

Comfortable. Form fitting to hip and waist. On cold nights it works like a heater where it leans against the body. So many incredible features. Ipad pro 12.9 storage. Being able to easily close bag with a flip of the flap. Automatically connects to very strong velcro. Don’t need to take time to zip for quick closure. Velcro closure is very strong. You would hear if someone opened your bag. Kind of like a built in alarm system. Makes getting in and out of bag so secure and effortless not having to mess with zippers. But the zippers are there for extra security. Love the black color for event photography. Many pockets and pouches. One of my favorites is the optional outside cup/bottle opener. Was shooting high school football and snuck a canned soda in the pouch. Open can didn't spill as I walked. Material is military grade and soft. Every bag I have bought over the years can't compare to this one. I finally got it right with this bag. It has many uses as a plain messenger bag as well. Picnic bag. Well balanced. Doesn’t tip over. I have had at least 20 bags and I can give them all away now. Thank you ThinkTank. You really got this one right. I put my R6ii and14-35L mounted, 24-70L, 70-200L in center section. iPad Pro in the bag compartment and all my straps, caps, filters, etc. in the big front accessories pocket. And the bonus for me is the optional water bottle pocket on the outside of bag. I use it for my Canon 66o Speedlite. This way I am covered for a wedding. Even room inside for some small primes. I hate carrying gear but when I have to, this is the best bag I have ever found that carries all my required stuff. I have a mind shift photo cross 10 for going to the car races and sports as I wear it continuously. The bag doesn't stand up. It just kind of flops. The Retrospective Bag stands up without falling over. For weddings it is a must.

I’m a firm believer that you get what you pay for and it’s definitely true with the purchase of this amazing photo bag! Yes, it’s on the expensive side but you get quality, sturdiness, multiple storage options with several available pockets, and of course a beautiful photo bag that will last you decades! I wasn’t sure if I should’ve gone for the black or the army green but when I saw it for the first time, I instantly knew I made the right choice ordering the black one since it looks classy and aesthetically pleasing! However if you an adventure landscape photographer or if you constantly have to shoot outdoors most definitely consider the army green option! I don’t regret this purchase and if you are doubting, just pull the trigger, you’ll be extremely satisfied!!

Been on my list for years. Finally grabbed one and it’s become my favourite travel / day trip bag. Easily fits under the seat on planes. Carries a camera body, few lenses and a 13” MacBook with ease.

Wonderful bag. Does everything that I'm expected. It holds my Macbook pro, my camera, extra lens, water bottle and snacks. This is what I need for my remote workdays. The strap is very comfortable. I'm very happy with my new bag.

I needed a camera shoulder bag that would fit an iPad air 13 w/ case, and my Retrospectice 10 v1 would not. The air fits in the laptop pocket , but it does stick up slightly. This bag is able to fit a Canon R6/R5 with a RF 70-200 2.8 IS (non Z) lens attached, with plenty of room to zip up the security flap. The upgrades of the V2 vs V1 are solid. There are extra internal pockets, external water bottle holder, luggage pass through and the security flap, which can be tucked into a pocket if it is not needed. The strap material appears to be different. The V1 had a seatbelt feel and the V2 has a more braided texture. The shoulder pad also seems to be smaller, but this may be due to the 10 vs the 7. Overall, I have been using the Retro 10 v1 for years and it has been my favorite shoulder/ sling bag. As of this writing, it appears that the Retro 7 v2 could take its place. Though I will be keeping the 10, as it will allow me to carry a pro sized body and/ or multiple bodies, the 7 is a perfect everyday grab and go bag for ipad and a minimal kit
