Have no idea what the deal with 'torture' review is, but this works just fine for me so far... UPDATED
UPDATE 22 Sep 16: Got my desired length of beard hair to test with... and it's more of what I'd already written. Great for trimming, not ideal for military-close shaving (still use my razor and some good shaving cream to detail my face). But the razor is worse than poor for trimming stray hairs on my sideburns... or really, any sort of trimming. And if it doesn't irritate my crotch manscaping, I don't see where anyone can claim the OneBlade product is solely responsible for a case of baby rash on your face -- see a dermatologist. I do notice in this last trim on my shadow... that despite not cutting very close, it was closer with a bit more growth than with less... so the blade has more to grab onto and do its job, I suppose. Very comfy, takes much less time than lathering up and using a razor, but since I have to do that anyway to get the smoothness I want... it's a wash. For those who don't need military-close-shaves... this is ideal. Five stars. UPDATE 20 Sep 16: So, this is ideal for body hair. As in, I see no more reason to tolerate the pulling from my larger clipper... No irritation, pretty quick if you give it a couple of rinses to wash out stubble... and it's shower friendly. On it's way to five, don't disappoint me now! :D -- Gonna hold out for a more in-depth review once I get more use cases in the bag... but so far, I like it. Not sure what the heck went on with that other review re: torture... I didn't have any such problems, and my first use was dry, on shorter-than-stubble whiskers right where he has his skin issue, under jaw / front of throat. My whiskers are not only quite thick... but they grow to my RH side under my jaw, so if this indeed was going to scalp my skin like that reviewer claimed his did... it'd do it with these. Started strict, not too much pressure, going slowly against the grain (to the left in my case). Heard and felt some stubble being cut, but no pulling, no irritation, no drama. Tapped out the blade into the palm of my hand... and there were some tiny bits of beard... which considering Phillips says this doesn't shave as close as a regular razor or their own Norelcos... it seemed to cut beard quite close. Ran the back of my fingers under my jaw... sure enough it felt smoother, if not exactly wet-shorn. Next, trimming my sideburns to neat, which I'd always done with my shaving razor. There it was the same -- very easy, very quick, no drama. Will do next test with three days of growth (genuine stubble, 2-3mm), in the shower... as that's where I groom. Will update, but four stars so far, one star docked for its long charge time requirement vs. li-ion, and only 45 mins of performance (thinking more about the odd business trip -- will I actually have to charge for 8 hrs just because it lost some power over a 5-hr flight?). Other than that... I think critical cases are down to some more-sensitive-than-average skin.

Highly recommend
Works great and a good size. Battery life could be better but very durable and comfortable without good depth and smoothness.

Very gentle especially if you have sensitive skin: first charge ran for 30 days(!) with daily use A+++
small light-weight and a good (not great) shave. Very gentle though if you have sensitive skin. It's a winner IMO and well worth the price. Just not as close of a shave as a good razor. But will keep you smooth enough with a fast easy shave daily *UPDATE: I used the shaver for exactly 30 days on the first charge (awesome) shaving once daily and occasionally twice. As a lifelong razor shaver...this shave still can't compare if you are looking for baby smooth. But I'm happy with it and will keep using it for daily use and pull out the razor for closer shave on rare occasions I reckon. **UPDATE 2: still very pleased + an observation to share. Shaves way better with a light touch. I started with pressure like I would for a razor, but that was too heavy handed. The promo pics of a full beard gent cutting a path through is whiskers is very doable with a light pass over the skin but NOT a heavy push. ALSO...my razor came with a coupon for $10 off 2 pack of razor heads if used before Feb 2018. Problem is...note have wrong company address (WTF). Needs a "US." before the philips url. Then, after you go to subscribe to get the coupon, they send you an email with a coupon code and links to follow for purchase at major online sellers like Amazon, etc. Problem is the coupon code does not work at ANY of the sellers websites. After an hour of trying this with diff sellers, I wrote back to philips who says you have to buy direct off of them to use the coupon. No mention of it on email, webpage or note in razor box. So this all = bunk url redirect and slimeball promo tactic to get email addys and undercut their resellers (I bought my razor from Amazon). Philips marketing sales and loyalty to resellers is a fail IMO, but their OneBlade razor isn't.

Not for daily use, but if you don't shave frequently it's probably great.
The OneBlade has its purpose, and I would not say it's for frequent use. I loved this thing for the first three or four weeks I had it. It's easy to use, easy to clean, lasts long enough, and is portable (and I travel a lot). But then the shaves weren't as close and the wear indicator began showing... it was time to replace the blade. And therein lies the only major flaw that the OneBlade has--it does not last as long as the blades in other electric razors. I expect this electric razor to cost me about $100 a year in razors, as a result. I shave roughly three times a week, neck only, as I have a beard. For contrast, I replace the foil and cutter on my Braun Series 5 roughly annually, and its foil and cutter and four cleaning cartridges cost me $50. But I'm going to keep the OneBlade for a specific purpose: it is INFINITELY better than other electric razors at cutting longer growth. If I remember to shave every day, or ever other day, the Braun Series 5 is as fast, with as little irritation. Brushing it off is a little more involved, and I have to use the cleaning dock occasionally, but again, the cost is lower. If I go 3+ days without shaving, the Braun might as well be a torture device. As with all foil-headed electric razors, it'll rip out about as much hair as it actually cuts. And that's where the OneBlade shines: it'll mow through longer hair pretty effortlessly (I actually f*cked up my beard once because it cuts long hair so quickly and I went too far). So that will be its role in my repertoire: handling those days when the growth is too long for my Braun Series 5. And trimming. It's not a fantastic trimmer, but it's good enough, and means I can get rid of my humongous professional clippers. So if you want something for daily use, expect this to be an expensive solution. But if you don't like shaving every day, and often go several days without, this is the most comfortable shave you'll get.

Best electric razor I've used
Got the original face one 3.5 years ago and it's been amazing. The included blade just broke after 3.5 years of being used at least once a week of not 2 times. It sounds like any other razor but cuts pretty close for an electric. Smooth without much pulling. The one I have isn't 360 blade but it does move vertically. Also glad the blades have the edges that allow for a closer cut. This is definitely my go to recommendation for electric razors.

Eureka, almost perfect!
I've been looking for a product like this for a long time. It's not unusual for me to go long enough without shaving that I then have to use a trimmer before shaving. And as a stop gap between shaving just trimming means having to deal with it again shortly. I saw the ad on tv and it looked like it didn't leave any noticeable stubble and the product claimed to also be a shaver but I had serious doubts. Well I used it for the first time today and it is far better than I had hoped. I would have been happy if it had left day old stubble but it didn't leave any noticeable stubble, I looked like I had shaved. Now it's not as close as a blade but it's about the same as an electric razor, nothing noticeable but you can feel stubble. As suggested it helps to go against the grain so it picks the hair up to cut it but there is no irritation. I also used longer stokes like the directions suggest but on areas you can't do that it worked just as well. The two sided blade makes it easy to maneuver in any direction you need. The top edge for example does a good job below the nose where an electric razor struggles. It also cuts the coarse mustache and chin hair better than an electric razor. And while this was my least concern it trims precisely. I can't imagine using an electric razor again and would only use a blade if I needed a particularly close shave. It will be extremely nice to do away with trimming before shaving previously necessary after multiple days of not shaving. It will also be nice to be able to dry shave (even though it also wet shaves). The reason the title says almost perfect is the 8 hour recharge time. I can do a quick charge on my electric razor and it also shows the percentage of battery life left. For the OneBlade I'll need to keep up with how much of the 45 minute usage time I've used and be sure to plug it in the night before. If I didn't shave so sporadically I could probably develop a schedule but isn't that kind of one of the reason for this product. I wouldn't mind a heavier and bulkier shaft if it allowed for a quick charge battery and even a status bar for power left. Having said that I'm still extremely pleased to finally have something that trims and shaves in one step, dry shaves about as close as an electric razor and without the irritation of a blade even when using foam.

Not for everyone, but excellent if it's for you
It does exactly what I expected it to. If you've ever had an electric razor, you've probably had one with a little edge shaver thing that flips out from the side, that's basically a tiny hair clipper. Those things are always super awkwardly placed and hard to use. The OneBlade comes from someone thinking, "hey what if we took that little clipper thing and made it the whole razor?" - because that's what this is. Two tiny clipper blades, with a smooth sliding surface in the middle. (As a side note, I think the people complaining about this thing not cutting hair at all might be using it wrong - the cross-hatched part in the middle does no cutting at all, it's purely a sliding surface. If you want hairs to get cut, you need to introduce them directly to the top of bottom edge of the razor. Sliding the cross-hatched part around your face doesn't work particularly well for cutting hair, you have to hold it at an angle.) What it's not: * It's not going to tame a large beard. I mean you could if you had to, but that's like clearing a jungle with a letter opener. It'll take a while and you'll probably cut yourself by accident. * It's not going to give you a close shave. You can kinda get there, particularly on your cheeks, but if your goal is baby butt smoothness you're not getting it with this razor. What it is: * It's perfect if you struggle with ingrown hairs. That not-particularly-close shave means the hairs don't have as much of a chance to dive back in to your skin, particularly in the neck beard area. * It's perfect for cleaning up edges. The actual mechanism is basically an edger, and the whole razor is ergonomically designed around that. * It's decent at maintaining a specific length of stubble. It comes with some guards of a specific length, so you can trim your hair down a bit without cutting it all off. The small size makes it really ergonomic for trimming down smaller areas like a moustache, but it would be annoying to do your whole face with this thing - you'd be better off using a full sized clipper for that. All in all, this is exactly what I was looking for. I'd say that if you're the sort of person who wants to generally clean up their hair but doesn't need (or want, if you get ingrown hairs) a super close shave, you'll get a lot of use out of this electric razor. Particularly if you have some clippers for large-scale trimming every once in a while.

The best razor I've ever owned, period.
This is truly the only razor I need anymore, I put the others in my cabinet and I expect that's where they'll stay from now on! My shaving routine would be 3 times a week and would involve three different shavers. I would use my Norelco Senso Touch (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003V360NY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) on my neck, but would also need to use my old Mach 3 razor (https://smile.amazon.com/Gillette-Mach3-Turbo-Razor-MACH3/dp/B00DMI0QNI/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1467389829&sr=1-2&keywords=mach+3) to clean up the what the norelco would miss in order to get truly smooth. On top of that I used my Fusion Proglide with the #3 Trimmer (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0062IWQVU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to have just the right amount of stubble and mustache. I also leave my goatee longer than the rest of my face so inevitably there are random longer/skewed whiskers that I use either trimming scissors or the Proglide to take care of. This Norelco OneBlade does what previously took three shavers to do, and it does it better and faster! It cleans my neck up as smooth as the other two combined, I then snap on one of the trimmer combs to get right amount of stubble/mustache. Plus it has a trimming edge on both the bottom and top that I use to cut out the skewed whiskers in my goatee and also gives me the perfect line between my neck and jawline. The combined cost of all my old shavers was about $140. This is $35 and I expect to replace the head maybe twice a year, which would currently total $25 for two (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01D328DG4/ref=twister_B01DBRYUKY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) Haven't experienced any pulling, which I would get from time to time with the Senso Touch and would result in redness irritation or those damn pimple looking bumps. I have yet to experience any irritation with the OneBlade and I've used it about 5 times so far (and still haven't had to charge the battery). Time will tell, but for now I couldn't be happier with this purchase, it's fairly inexpensive and works better than anything I've ever owned. What took about 8-10 passes with the Senso Touch and still needed a quick pass over with the Mach 3, this OneBlade does a better job, and only takes maybe 3-4 passes. All in all, tremendous shaver. Takes me less time and I get a good shave. If you have any questions be my guest and I will do my best to help you out!

Pretty great
Blade has held up its sharpness after a couple months of use, although it is prone to skin nicking on coarser hairs, especially around the nether regions.
