Schwarzkopf Color ULTÎME® 1.4 Sapphire Black Permanent Hair Dye

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Intense color and spectacular shine! I was delighted with this Schwarzkopf Color Ultime 1.4 Black Sapphire hair dye. From the very first application, it left my hair a deep, elegant black with incredible shine that really stands out. It covered grays completely, and the color was even from root to tip. Plus, my hair felt soft, manageable, and healthy-looking after coloring. The color has stayed intense for weeks without losing its shine, even after multiple washes. If you’re looking for a vibrant, long-lasting black with a professional finish at home, this product is totally worth it. I will definitely buy it again and recommend it 100%.

Provided great all over coverage with a beautiful shade of rich black. It looks seamless, glossy, and the conditioner that was included replenished moisture well. Leaving my hair soft, silky, and frizz free. The product was easy to apply, worked quickly, washed out with ease, and I believe is an amazing value for the price point. I would highly recommend it. Very intense color payoff. It also leaves your hair shiny. Only concern is it stains your scalp, but after 2 washes it should be fine.

Gorgeous, saturated, deep black shade. I’ve been dying my hair black for 38 years since I was a 15 yr old baby goth, and this is a great color and formula. Covered my streaks of grey/white hair perfectly, although I did leave it on a bit longer just in case. About 50 minutes total. I’m not a fan of the dimethicone in this conditioner because stuff like that can leave my hair pretty dry (I also live in a dry desert). However, the conditioner did leave my hair soft and shiny so I can’t complain. This color seems to stay wet the entire time and I think that’s why it IS messier than most. Wear an old shirt! Lay some garbage bags over your countertops and an old towel on the floor & keep a bleach cleaner nearby with paper towels for any accidental splats on countertops and floors, and just keep away from doors and walls entirely. If you have a box of latex gloves, use those instead of the provided gloves. Also use gloves again if at all possible, when rinsing out in the shower. I can see this absolutely staining nails (I used a clear coat and heavy nail oil in addition to gloves because I’ve dealt with staining in the past) I also suggest having some AHA or lactic acid facial pads & a nubby washcloth available for face, ears and neck, and a loofah or scrubby of some sort for body on hand, because as careful as I am, it still stained my ears, forehead and the nape of my neck and took some real effort to remove. Bonus points if you have an AHA body wash (it stained forearms where gloves didn’t reach). Hope this helps! This hair color is beautiful. Also my hair is about 1/2” below my shoulders, medium thick leaning thin, and one box just barely worked to cover my 3” of growth and former faded black dye.

I ordered the Sapphire Black color. I wanted a cool, blue tone, because, even though my hair is a medium to dark brown, it has an underlying red tinge (thanks, Irish ancestors!), that goes brassy red-orange every time the dye wears off. So, I was trying to stay away from any red. Well, this went on purple. Like Very Purple. It did come out VERY black, and, in the sunlight, there is an awesome blue tint. BUT, it stains, people. If you are a careful, very precise person, who plans your hair-coloring procedure out and lays down plastic, then I'd recommend trying it. I am not one of those people, though I've learned to look around and clean up after I dye my hair. I was extremely careful with this stuff, but I missed to small dots of dye, that splashed my sink. My sink is made of typical sink material, not porous, not anything you have to take special care with. I found the dots within ten minutes, but it was too late. I now have two purple dots on the side of my white sink, and nothing took them off, and I tried a LOT of different things. So, I go to rinse out my hair. Our shower is one of those horrible, plastic inserts, so I made very sure that I washed off the walls, where the purple-tinged water splashed. When I was done, I looked down, and there was a purple stain on the bottom of the insert, where the water had puddled, you know how it does, before it goes down the drain. I mean, water had been running, washing the dye the entire time, and it still stained. It did cover all my grays, and I didn't have any problem with burning, stinging, or obnoxious smell. I rinsed very thoroughly, like 20 minutes or more, and did not have any bleeding after. However, the first time I washed my hair, after the dye job, a lot more purple came out. The color went from flat black to a more natural black, and it still had the discreet blue tinge. I've only had the color in for a week, so I can't comment on how long or well it lasts, so I may edit my review later, as well as noting how well it thwarted the Irish red. ****I originally gave this three stars, because of the staining. After trying another brand of blue-black color and having the exact same staining, I've come to think that it's the color I've chosen, not the brand. The other brand (Nutrisse) also had a slight blue tinge, but it didn't cover my grays as well as Schwarzkopf, nor did the blue tinge show up as well. Schwarzkopf also kept its color longer, with less fading. I think I've found my brand of hair color.

Love the color. Hate the smell of the conditioner Covered stubborn gray on natural hair. The conditioner has such a warm note that I had to wash it out. If you don't like warm fragrances, you will be nauseated, as I was. So, smell test it first, prior to using it.

This is a fantastic hair dye! It is very dark with just a hint of blue in the sunlight, giving you that animated black hair effect. The treatment is also magic and sealed up my split ends easily leaving my hair soft AND colored! The only issue I have is that the dye is very strong, in fact it gets on everything and stains everything. Droplets where you rinse your hair will leave blue stains on the floor and on the sink- unless you have a porcelain or marble I truly believe you are cooked although I had some success with nail polish remover (it will come of skin this way). That being said, it also sticks in your hair for weeks. I am on 3 weeks post dye and it looks like day 1. I am still leaving a blue residue in my bathtub when I shower despite it diluting but if you can accept the permanence it is worth it. In fact, I re-ordered a second box and am giving five stars for it delivering quality but I would be cautious especially if you are renting or planing a trip where your hair might get wet.

My ideal color to cover gray hair lol. Leaves the hair very black and shiny.

I usually use garnier or L’Oréal but I find they fade so fast and my hair is back to brown in just a few washes so I tried this. I don’t know how long it’s going to last but so far I love how black it is. Most are a dark brown black but this one is black as midnight which is exactly what I wanted. My hair is smooth and very shiny, even my 8 year old daughter said this one looks really good! I hope it lasts longer than the others. Time will tell! I used the little left over in the bottom of the bottle and put it in my eyebrows with a q tip to match my hair and left it on my brows for 10 mins. They look great, make sure to use Vaseline around your hairline/ears/and around the skin on your brows as it does stain skin pretty heavy.

Good product, does bleed a lot but colour still holds. With this only have to dye my hair once a month instead of twice with other products I have used.

I was looking for a good black hair color and I bought this brand based off the good reviews I read about it. And honestly, I have to say, super duper pooper impressed with this dye! First 2 months the colour was so shiny and vibrant, and it's now been 3 months, almost 4, the colour has faded but it's such a pretty colour still, the fade is still nice and shiny and works for me. This brand is awesome for black, had to tell you :)

Purchased the sapphire black. Love the depth of the colour and ease of application. My hair stayed soft. Only complaint i have is after 10 washes it is still bleeding out black. Ive been dying my hair black for years, first time using this brand, never had it bleed out for so long. Still seems to be holding its colour and ive used the conditioner it came with as well as a colour rated shampoo as always. Hoping the bleed out stops soon and doesn't cause the colour to wash out early.
