This is a very heavy, very powerful tool.
This tool comes with a 6AH Flexvolt battery, the DCB118 8 amp charger, a kit bag, and one saw blade. I've seen several reviews complaining about the noise coming from this fan cooled charger. I had it sitting beside me at work and could barely hear it. I also purchased 2 - 9AH Flexvolt batteries at the same time. All of the batteries arrived with 1 of the 3 bars showing the current state of charge. I put the 6ah battery on the DCB115, 4 amp charger, one 9ah battery on the DCB1106 6 amp charger, and one 9ah battery on the fan cooled DCB118 8 amp charger. The following charge times, till full, were observed:83 minutes for the 6ah battery with the DCB115 4 amp charger = 13.83 minutes of charging for each ah80 minutes for the 9ah battery with the DCB1106 6 amp charger = 8.88 minutes of charging for each ah59 minutes for the 9AH battery with the DCB 118 8 amp fan cooled charger = 6.55 minutes of charging for each ahObviously these times would be extended should the batteries be drawn down to 0 bars of charge instead of the 1 bar that I started with. But you get the point. The 115 and 1106 chargers will charge all 20V max, 12V max, and Flexvolt batteries. The 118 charger will NOT charge 12V batteries. This DCB118 charger is starting to be included in some tool kits. Look for it. It is a great charger.

Works fairly well but it's disappointing that like the drills utilizing the brushless motors it will shut itself down if out in a bind rather than powering through the job like the older models using brushed motors. I would consider the battery life acceptable but not as impressive as I had hoped.

Great tool
Never used a Reciprocating Saw before but got used to it quickly. If you're new to these watch a video by a pro for instructions. Heavier that I thought it would be but it's a great tool. Happy to have it.

I kept looking for the plug because this unit has the power of and electric saw.
This thing is truly a beast. I feel like it will cut through just about anything. Battery lasts longer than expected considering the power output. Yes you can buy cheaper but this product is more than worth the extra expense

Great tool, works as well as a corded saws all. Definitely heavier than the corded version because of the battery but we don't have to worry dragging a cord around.

Doing a decent job at replacing the 36 volt grandfather.
Powerful but heavy, is bigger than the 36 volt replacement, cut the weight, a brushed electric motor would have been smaller, but it uses more energy. The best performance so far from the Flexvolt line, is a 20 volt 6 1/2 circular saw with a 9 amp hr Flexvolt battery behind it.(edit 6/11) Understanding the future, brushless was all about saving energy, and that has been true in history. But what happens when energy storage accelerates faster than efficiency? One can take a brushed motor in a smaller tool throw in a 9 amp hr flexvolt battery It is just unstoppable in torque. My new favorite saw with a magnesium shoe, like the 36, 7 1/4 big brother, that is starved of power at 2 amp hour in current 36 volt.If I had to do it again, I would buy the compact 20 volt sawzall, and juice it with the Flexvolt battery.Put a magnesium shoe on the 7 1/4 Flexvolt circ saw, and flip the blade to the left, there is a winner.
