This is a very versatile sptula. Minimal to slight bendability but not too mich at all.Nice plastic handle. Bought for wife for cake decorating but tje 1st time I observed her using she was spreading butter with it. In my own experience I have prob ised for everything other than intended cake frosting design. Good for reaching into jars, spreading butter/jams, freeing a burning corner of something cooking on stove, as well as frosting (i'm assuming last one to be correct) Other reviews have commented on the lengh of this being only 9" and having problems with that. It says in the description that it is 9"

Embarrassingly this was my first time using a dedicated cake spatula to frost my cakes. I poured through reviews and couldn't decide on the size to get. Some folks weren't happy with large spatulas while others had problems adapting to smaller spatulas. I purchased this particular spatula based on the reviews and was also under the assumption the metal spatula itself (excluding the handle) was 9" long. What I received was a spatula that is 9" in length *including* the handle. The metal spatula itself is only 3.75"- seems suited more for cupcakes and tiny rounds. That said, I put it t the test and I've successfully frosted several 9" round triple layer cakes in addition to cupcakes and mini cupcakes- it worked perfectly, and just as expected. I wound up having no issues with small size. The angled handle made frosting the cakes feel natural, as if I'd been using it for years, and in no way awkward. I was also able to use it successfully as a crumb layer-scraper. A crumb layer scraper would have been ideal for my high layered cakes as it would have required minimal effort, but this spatula outperformed any substitute device I'd previously used, and in the end, my crumb layer was perfect. I can see a bigger size spatula being more helpful for 9"+ layer cakes, as it would be faster and perhaps a tad easier, but I wasn't racing against a clock and my cakes turned out beautiful.

I use this for icing smaller items like cupcakes and I wanted to have more than one because I grew tired of washing one in the midst of decorating to switch icing colors. I'd been using another brand but decided to take a chance on the Wilton due to the low price. I found this one to be superior due to the more stiff blade and handle which fits into my hand more comfortably. As with all of my kitchen knives, I wash them by hand, dry them and store them appropriately. At this price, I'm happy that I purchased three because I had enough to share with my three year old baker who loves his new gift. It's perfect for icing cupcakes but also works for spreading avocados or cream cheese.

RE: Wilton Icing Spatula - 13-Inch This spatula is a lot bigger than I imagined. I only wanted it for dishing out small slivers of pie or brownies that are made in a pie plate. The blade itself is about 1 1/8" wide and 6 1/2" long (measuring the flat part up to the bend). It's heavier than I anticipated, solid and well made though it does have slight flexibility which is good. I like that this one does not have stickers stuck to the metal spatula like some have shown on some others. A quick wash and it's ready to use. I think I will order one in the smaller size too.

Ich nutze die kleine Palette nahezu immer, wenn ich eine Torte backe. Der Spatel liegt gut in der Hand und der Winkel ist optimal, um auch innerhalb eines Tortenrings bequem Cremes etc. verteilen zu können. Ich möchte die kleine Palette nicht mehr missen.
