MakerShot Magazine Speed Loaders for 1911 Pistol Magazines

This is my second Makershot product. They work well and the small size makes it easy to carry and convenient.

I dont know what else y’all wanna know, it works, it should had come with my 1911 that’s for sure It’s easier then most similar Notice is molded and reinforced I can’t even squeeze it to flex Easy to grip

Gives you the leverage to get the last couple in the mag without the thumb strain and pain, lol.. when you target shoot and have a lot of mags to load or spring for the hard to push down 8 round mag you will need one of these.. liked it so much I ordered one for my double stack 9...

I bought the 1911 45 & the M&P Shield 45 versions. I can't tell from Amazon review page which one I'm reviewing, so i will cover both here. The 1911 version gets 4 stars. In both, there is a missing step in instructions where you have to lift loader 1/2", then push round straight back to fully seat it in mag. Once you figure out the trick it works pretty slick with no moving parts, though it is a bit pricey for a piece of plastic. The Shield 45 has really tight mag springs making nearly impossible to fully hand load either the large or small magazine. Assessing how many stars for this version of loader becomes a question of suitability; obviously the tight mag spring isn't Makershot's fault. The loader gets rather hard to press down as well, but when you need to lift it 1/2" to slide the round back, sometimes the partially inserted round pops out. If it doesn't, the loader is in a position where it isn't depressing the mag spring so sliding the round back is very difficult. Until you slide the round back (or remove it) you can't remove the loader from the top of the mag. The back of the loader has an incline that makes appear you can push the round back without lifting the loader, but the angle is too shallow, the loader doesn't depress the follower enough, and plastic is the wrong material, to be useful. Despite its shortcomings, it still beats handloading magazines - so it is an essential rangebag item. If you find a better version let me know, and I'll toss these these in a heartbeat
