Pedal Strap Set, Hands-Free Bike Retention, Straps Only

This pedal design does it all: Easy out, flip it up or down when you dont need it. I have used this product for 8 years and I love them. The crazy thing is: nobody uses them! It absolutely kicks the butt of ANY other pedal system. So unless you are some spandex biker grinding away on your eggbeaters....This is all you need. Its perfect for the bike path/urban/commuting. Its safe and easy disengage prevents the dreaded sudden tip-over bike-dump. Plus: no overpriced shoes to buy! I buy extras with these straps in case they ever become unavailable.

I have problems with my right leg(Dorsiflexion)so "I" can't move foot up. With "Power grips" it gives me the extra hold on the peddle. They're great! I had to get the extra large strips for my size 11.5 shoe. Installation was easy, the biggest problem was I kept dropping the tiny nut that holds on the "power grips", no big deal!! I should of used needle nose pliers. I put them on the peddles befroe I put the peddles on the bike. (I could see it being a pain the rear, if the peddles were on the bike already.) I also slipped my shoes into them a few times to get the right size "loop". No problem and a brilliant idea if I say so myself! HA! Down the road I'm might have to adjust them tighter them after I get used to them, but it shouldn't be a problem These are going to last for a LONG time, the material is tough and rigid enough for the loop to stay open. It's easy to slip your feet into them, and I had to stop suddenly and getting out of them was no problem! I was using "clipless" before and I'll be using these for years to come. Also because of my Dorsiflexion, these keep my feet centered on the peddle. These are a good, you might think they are a little expensive, but the material and peddles are tough! I'm satisfied and happy about my purchase!

Love these. First time I'm messing with foot retention, and Power Grips allowed me take the leap without having to get the special footwear. You have to be aware, as others have mentioned, that the strap does rub over your shoe with a load of force, potentially damaging the shoe. Suede, for example, will be worn shiny in no time. I don't consider this a problem, but if you're fussy about shoes, you might. One gripe I have is the sizing of these extra long straps. I take size 13 and still they were much too long, even for clunky boots, so I had to shorten them by a good few inches to make them work. The effort involved in trying to punch a new hole in the strap convinced me that they are indeed made of sturdy stuff, though! Spinning the pedals fast feels much safer now, more fluid. Getting in and out (even with a fixed wheel) becomes second nature after half a day of practice, so the learning curve isn't really that steep. One star off for the misleading size recommendation, otherwise, great product!

I don’t know why I didn’t order these years ago! They work perfectly to keep your foot on the pedal. Great for recumbents. And they free you up to move your feet around instead of being clipped in a rigid position and you can wear any shoe you want. I ride in barefoot shoes and it feels wonderful to not have your foot cramped in a stiff tight shoe.

These are a must have if you do not want to wear the clip on biking shoes, with these you can wear any shoe and still have the power stroke you need and your legs are less fatigued. I started using these about 17 years ago because of many knee surgeries and this has helped tremendously, I can use each leg to support the other and I do not have to clip in and I can wear any type of shoe, anything from tennis shoes, work boots to dress shoes and you can adjust the straps for each pair. I highly recommend these straps, they are made very well and durable. The mounting hardware is of good quality and will not rust and easy to mount.

This is a decent product. Fairly easy to install, but took a number of rides to figure out how tight they needed to be adjusted. I purchased the regular size and the straps were very long. I assume you would have to have some very large feet/shoes to need the larger size. I recently had Achilles' tendon surgery and wanted something I could pull my foot out of easily. These work for that but it is somewhat difficult to reinsert your foot while riding. If the pedal flips over while you ride, the strap drags. I also don't think the directions say you must trim the straps to fit. I think I ended up using only half the length of the straps after cutting and adjusting a number of times. They need an easier/faster adjustment system and some type of strap management system.

I replaced my clipless pedals on two MTBs with platform pedals and installed Power Grip Toe Straps. One set of toe straps have been on my MTB for over 2 years and are still in good condition. I finally gave up on clipless pedals due to many close calls and near misses where I was unable to unclip in time before a fall. This was the best decision I have made for safety sake when riding my MTB on some fairly challenging trails. Removing your foot from the pedal is a breeze with the Power Grip Toe Straps and I don't feel that I am sacrificing any pedal efficiency or power compared to the clipless pedals. The toe straps are relatively easy to install (Note: you do have to remove the reflector on the platform pedals for the install which is pretty simple) and very durable even under extreme conditions. If you're wanting to put bike SAFETY FIRST when on the trail, Power Grip Toe Straps are one 'common sense' answer.

I ride a recumbent tadpole trike and have been concerned with foot slipping off pedals and dragging under the bike. These power grip straps are amazing and have completely eliminated my concerns. You slide your foot in at a bit of an angle and when you straighten the foot, the strap locks your foot in place. The friction on the strap grips your foot and holds it firmly in place. I purchased the large size and have them installed in the shortest mounting hole so I may have been able to use a regular size strap. The length and width of the straps are bigger than I anticipated but seem to be sturdy enough to hold up to weather and usage. They may not be great for two wheel bikes but if you do not have to pull your foot out when you stop, these are great.

I’ve used this product for years. Quite literally over 40,000 miles. I always ride with these.

Was building a fixie and wanted an alternative to clippless pedals but did not want the old cages which dont work so well with my size 11 shoes. These are great! Since I am used to getting my foot snapped in while moving these were easy to adapt to. Even on a fixed wheel for the first time. Now I can wear whatever shoes I want and have the same secure clipped in feeling. What a simple solution.

Great product! This is my second set of Power Grips...first set lasted me 10 years and many thousands of kilometres of touring.

I know I know I should have paid a little more attention BUT, if you're selling as separate items then show only the individual item not the "package" like in this photo where you show both the pedal and the strap. Come on now help us be completely happy, now I'm waiting to get over receiving just the straps before I order the pedals (might not be thru you!).
