Biltong Depot Original Biltong Air-Dried Beef Slices w Fat, 1lb (16oz)

Very tender and flavorful

I had to write a review because this biltong is actually incredible. It’s the best biltong I’ve ever had. The bags contain large, tender pieces. The fat-to-protein ratio is perfect, and the seasoning is delicious. They even provide a paper bag to keep it fresh, and you can freeze anything you can’t eat within three days. I highly recommend this brand. I won’t be buying any other biltong after this.

I rely other brands when they are on sale to compare but keep coming back to this one. I won't waste any more time trying other brands as this one seems to be the clear winner for me. Also note that I do not like heavily smoked meats, which is another reason I am loyal to this product

If you enjoy beef biltong that is easy to eat and has a little delicious fat on it too, this biltong will make you very happy. It is pretty plain just with salt and does not have the typical coriander flavor. I did not find it overly salty and the slices keep well in the freezer or in a bag they supply with your order. It is a paper bag you are supposed to keep the leftovers in in the refrigerator. You can also freeze extra biltong for later and thaw it out in the refrigerator as I'm doing now. I have tried a lot of biltong in my lifetime and used to eat it in Africa on a regular basis. Now that I'm back in America I keep trying different biltong companies to see who is the best. I wanted to like it. But its not good at all, immediately got hit with a bad smell opening the bag, and the biltong itself just isn't very quality.Would not recommend.

I like this style of jerky because it’s natural and I like the fat that is in it. I have purchased other brands that I like better than this brand. The taste is good, good quality and the product is very fresh. My only issue is I like dry jerky and feel the moisture content is way too high in this product for me. If you like moist jerky, than this is for you. If you like shoe leather jerky keep searching.

Decent and a good value for the full pound of meat involved. But can’t compete with the “brisket chips” offered by Grazly and Philips. It’s too lean and chewy making it more like traditional jerky than some transcendent magical new thing. Second it’s not actually that fatty- there’s barely any compared with the others. And third it looks like you need to refrigerate it immediately after opening which is not how the others work. You’ve at least got a few days with those. So I think this product is perfect for jerky fans who are elevating their tastes a bit? But it’s not a revolutionary product.
