Finn Hip & Joint Chews for Dogs - Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM - 90 Ct

I had been looking for a vitamin chew for my dog Teddy but never jumped on any until we found Finn. The Hip & Joint chew has quality ingredients and a taste that Teddy loves. After his first taste, he was licking his chops and pawing at the can for more. I think he really loves the smell of these. I really like the size and texture. They are a good size and soft and chewy. Teddy likes his treats bite sized, so I do rip these in half for him, but the size would be good for a dog his size (13 lbs) as is. Teddy is 6 years old and has a long life ahead of him but having Finn Hip & Joint chews makes me feel like I am setting him up for a healthy life free of hip and joint issues, which can cause dogs trouble as they age. We go on lots of long walks, hit the town and play a lot together. I think the Glucosamine and Turmeric are great for keeping his joints feeling fresh. He's only just started taking these but I am very interested to see the impact these have on his health!

We have been giving our dog this supplement for about a year now. Ever since we started our 10 year old dog on this supplement, she no longer moves around looking like she has joint issues and discomfort. A big noticeable change is she also has become more active and walks around the house a lot more without discomfort. Her diet has been the same and the only change was adding this supplement. It appears to be working for our dog so we will continue giving her the Finn Hip & Joint supplement as part of her daily regimen.

My dog is incredibly itchy all the time so I started researching probiotics and allergy chews to help. I ordered the Finn allergy chews and on a whim I also ordered the hip and joint chews. My dog is an older gal and while she is still pretty active, she has a hard time jumping onto the couch and was never able to jump into my bed. I have been giving her these chews for a few weeks and she is now able to jump onto my bed! The first time she did it, I was legitimately shocked. She loves the taste of all the Finn chews and the results obviously speak for themselves. I love the packaging and will plan to reuse the tins for treats and etc. when she finishes up the chews. So happy we ordered these—I highly recommend!

Firstly, only 2 of the 4 dogs will eat these willingly. The other one who really needs the joint pain relief I have to put one in his mouth and basically make him eat it, only then will he hesitantly eat the rest of his dose. Our littlest and oldest guy absolutely refuses to eat these. So I think there’s something a little off with the flavor or smell of these. Secondly, I do think it initially helped with the hip and joint health and pain our senior dogs were feeling, however I think after about 6 months there was a slight decrease in effectiveness. With the cost of these and the other immune health chews and the calming aids, we were spending over $100 in vitamins for the dogs every month and decided since they don’t even really like the taste of these and they don’t seem as effective anymore, we decided to gradually switch to the Finn multivitamin instead. There are some slight differences in mg count for certain ingredients, but I’m not convinced the efficacy was there for the higher mg anyway. The dogs still aren’t very crazy about the taste of the multivitamin chews either, but it’s at least more cost effective and less to make them eat.

Finn supplements in the yellow can have worked wonders for my senior dogs, so I decided to try the Hip and Joint supplements in the orange can. My first dog would not touch them. My second dog however, loves them In fact, she loves them so much she was able to knock them off the kitchen counter and chomp up the can until the top came off. She ate every single one. I had to call the Poison control center for pets (you have to pay to get them to help you!) You might think that an all-natural product would be safe, but the lady at the Poison control center said that the glucosamine in these supplements can be fatal if they eat too many. It can also cause kidney and/or liver damage. Luckily my dog weighs 100 lbs. and the can was not full. She seems to be ok now, but I have to take her back for a follow up next week to check her kidneys and liver. Just make sure to keep these in a place where your dog can't get into them and save yourself a lot of worry and vet bills.

I would highly recommend this product for anyone who has an active pet. The package comes in a bright orange tin with easy to read instructions. After about 1 week of use I noticed that my pet was less stiff the day after exercise. She loves the beef and liver flavor and comes running when I open the tin. Not only is their packaging sturdy but the dosage is easy to locate based on your pet's size. The chews are medium sized and are soft and easy to chew especially for older pets. I will definitely get these again!
