I purchased a fairly large box of these expecting a typical patchouli scent—something closer to the essential oil versions I’m used to. However, these smell nothing like any patchouli I’ve experienced before. The scent is very earthy and woody, but it lacks what I think of as the classic patchouli notes. It’s possible this is a more traditional or different variation, and I’m just accustomed to a lighter or more floral profile. Either way, it’s not for me.I’d recommend starting with the smallest quantity if it’s your first time buying these—just to test the waters before committing to a larger amount.

It actually smells like patchouli oil
For a long time I was buying the patchouli sticks from this brand and they were the best smelling rich patchouli scent I ever experienced from an incense.Then a few years back I stopped buying the patchouli sticks because what I was getting smelled like very old stock that had totally lost it's scent. I don't know if that was the case or if it was fake or what the problem was.So I decided to give these cones a try and now I'm happy again.Back to a nice smelling patchouli incense.
