Weather Radio
Weather radio is a very good radio. Extremely easy to set up! Works as expected! Great for when the weather gets rough

It works during emergencies!
Was watching TV and heard it from across the house for flash flood warning. It was supposed to be just rain showers today but knew it’s always worse than what the weather channels predict, so had antenna up just in case for NOAA radio to play. So I unplugged it (has batteries) and now listening to it in living room . I definitely recommend this product for emergencies! Better than other radios because it alarms loud for warnings/watches. We can sleep at night in peace and know we’ll get warning and not depend on our phones for warnings (our phones don’t receive warnings since in rural area). Minutes later received severe thunderstorm warning too. Programming took a few minutes and was not difficult

Reliable timely weather warnings when you need them, AHEAD of the weather.
Timely warnings and alerts for severe weather events including thunderstorms and tornadoes. This radio gives us piece of mind, it can be set up for multiple locations (even in different states). The volume is adjustable so you can have it blaring to cover a huge house or other building or lower to keep it in a bedroom for an early warning system for tornadoes at night. Weather info is provided by NWS so it is up to date and accurate and reliable. The alarm goes off before the alarm on any weather apps do… and as we live in the hurricane AND tornado alley part of the US, it’s nice to know that we know what is going on before it gets here. Has a battery backup feature for power outages, we have never had the radio or alerts fail us and we have already gone through multiple tornado warnings in less than 2y time. Well worth the price. I have owned Midland emergency radios for years because of hurricane season, but with weather conditions changing thought the need for a year round alert radio was a good idea. It had paid for itself in my opinion in the first few months just with the fact that we can better prep when something is rolling in fast and we have peace of mind knowing what it is. Never considered going with a different brand than our (20yo+) small handheld one by them, it still works well for updates during hurricane power outages so you know where the storm is when you no longer have television weather reports and so you can save your phone battery for important things like keeping family updated that you are safe. I would def highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something like this, and if you only need a small radio for backup, theirs obviously is well built and reliable! (I don’t remember the model number right now, it is in with the permanent hurricane supplies with the extra extension cords and a couple other things ready to go, but it is still ready for use by us too!) *Extra hint for programming the stations in the home unit… put your backup batteries in the unit first BEFORE you program it otherwise it won’t save your stations in the event it accidentally gets unplugged by a wayward cat or whatever…you will appreciate not having to worry about that happening when you plug it back in and the radio isn’t blank for any stations….(trust me you will appreciate doing this)!

Not durable due to the cord not lasting. Difficult to program, but does work is brand recommended.
Works perfectly. Easy to use but a bit challenging to program which is why weather stations continually offer to set this unit up for people at events they have. The display is easy to read but often has stopped displaying the message by the time we get to the unit to see what is going off and why. We replaced our 3yr old midland identical unit due to the cord going out on it, we did not know if it was the unit or cord. Turns out to be the cord but would cost us to return it because the free ship allowed us to buy one other small thing and if we returned this, we'd be stuck paying ship on the small item. So stuck keeping the new one when all it needed was a new power cord. Not impressed that it did not last better. It is not at all user friendly to program and we got through it again on the new unit, but it is a pain. So, I took off a star due to the company does not even seem to expect it to last as they want you to purchase a warranty on their website. Portable easily.

Good weather radio, easy to program
Nice weather radio that does what it's supposed to do. Does take a but to figure out the programming but easy once you figure it out. A bit on the pricier side for a radio but Midland is probably the best one out there

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Clear reception even inside my 1/4" thick-walled, plate steel tornado shelter.
First of all, the set up was VERY easy, took about 25 minutes, including getting the "code" for my county. Had an issue with getting through on the NOAA web site, which wasn't connecting. I had to go through a few "hoops" but finally got the information. It gave me 4 frequency options for my county. Input each one until I found the one with the clearest reception. Reception is UNBELIEVABLE!! I took it into my tornado shelter, which is in my garage. It is made of 1/4" plate steel on all 4 sides and the roof. It is tightly bolted to the concrete floor. I closed the door to pretty much "seal" it, turned the radio on for a local forecast, and it didn't miss a beat. I could hear everything just like I could if it was in the backyard. By comparison, my cell phone has NO reception in this same area. I recommend extending the 22" antenna fully up. I found a major difference in the reception with it fully extended, compared to just leaving it down and clamped to the radio itself. I left the factory defaults for the many assorted warnings that it is capable of, even if the vast majority will NEVER be used, (not too many earthquakes in Dallas). In the last 3 months or so, since i got it, has gone off several times so far when we had severe weather/tornado watches. Radio will wake you up. The speaker was more than good enough for the purpose. To be honest, the speaker may be excellent, but the quality of the actual NOAA radio broadcast is "functional", when you hear the message, your aren't listening to music, you just want the facts. The electric cord is long, maybe 6 feet or so, more than long enough for most people. The battery bak-up works, but don't know for how long, the most I have had it disconnected from electricity is about 15 minutes. I like that I can press down a button and get the immediate weather forecast for my area...SWEET! Don't have to go online, just hit the button on the radio, that is next to the bed. Overall, this is a great improvement from the 10 year old unit that it replaced and a price that is much less.

Very functional radio
This is an excellent little weather alert radio. Compact so it doesn’t take up a lot of room. After set-up make sure you save the owners manual as you will need the instructions if you want to add or subtract counties that you want to cover.

Simple enough to set up, simpler to operate.
Seems to work fine and do it's job. Haven't had any alerts yet but in test mode the alarm is plenty loud enough. Simple enough to set up if you are used to working with appliance menus,. Even simpler to operate. Single button operation turns weather forecast on or off.

Great, if i am visiting the USA that is...
i paid for this thinking since it has the S.A.M.E. feature it could be programmed to any country but no just within USA or Canada. Worked fine for a couple seconds with batteries in but had to find an adapter and keep it plugged into the wall; if I didn't have an adapter as it comes with the 2 pronged USA charger. The material feels fairly cheap particularly the charging cord and it feels could snap at any moment; the device itself 1. it reminds me of an early 00s CD player you carry around with you, which isn't bad but it doesn't last with the 3x double AA batteries (i tried a couple different ones, brand new) and so i can't really carry around with me and doesn't pick up any of the stations as I am on the other side of the atlantic so if I decided to go to USA to visit my friends or visit my family in Canada I can't even check for potential storms and so on, as even with the antenna doesn't pick up anything, just static and i can't even program with the feature to the region and place I am in 2.when you turn towards you you can't see anything on the display; it has 2 little collapsible legs so it's at an angle but if for example you tried mounting it to the wall you can't see anything. Can't pick up any stations or program it to where I am unfortunately. Tried to see if i could and reading the instructions and watching videos of the same product so I could have a reason to keep it but unfortunately will have to return it.
