1967-1974

i just got this today and it is a very good set, first and formost if you are a bluesy guitar fan of classic late 60s/early 70s british hard rock then YOU KNOW WELL WHO ALVIN LEE WAS......... anyway this was just reissued now in 2021 as there seemed to be issues with the original 2017 edition originally released 4 years back!! THIS IS THE SAME BOX SET nothing new added but better quality from what i read regarding the booklet & all from the first issue 4 years ago!!! this is with no doubt a 5 star set but gets 4 stars for the same complaints as the first issue got ALL THE BONUS TRACKS THAT WHERE ON EARLIER CD REISSUES SHOULD BE HERE AS WELL.. anyway i wanted a simple set of the entire catlog by tya and for fans that may be younger or older that never got around to getting much of there stuff over the last 53 years or so THIS IS A GREAT COMPACT PLACE TO GET ALL THE BASICS as well as 2 GREAT BONUS DISCS that include unreleased recordings from the rock and roll music to the world sessions in 1972 as well as the tenth disc that has recordings done way back that alvins widow signed off on for this set so for that & the price i felt ok buying these again, the booklet that comes with this 2021 edition does not seem to have any issues and all 10 discs are in mini lp replica sleeves as per there original uk releases and came out very well ( not as good as the japanese can do it but good enough for this set) so basically what this is besides the last 2 discs is the basic TYA catlog in full without the bonus tracks we got on previously released cd format editions years ago.... anyway i think this is a great collection as i loved tya back in the day & i still love this band today!!!!!! I never get tired of there killer run from 1967 through 1973 prior to there split.... i must add the remastering sounds great on all ten discs as well. PS ALSO LEO LYONS WENT ON TO PRODUCE THE FIRST 2 UFO ALBUMS FEAT MICHAEL SCHENKER IN 1974 & 1975.......... wich means leo produced 2 CLASSIC highly regarded records right after TYA split...............

An excellent reissue in a smaller boxed set of the classic Ten Years After catalog through 1974 with one bonus EP, the mastering is pretty good here. Originally issued as an expensive limited edition release in 2017, this set uses the same Ben Wiseman mastering (which is largely very good to excellent).A smaller box with the CDs in mini-LP/cardboard sleeves and a generous book with lots of info, I would recommend this set especially for those who missed the first. I should note, however, that this does not have the bonus discs or tracks from the 2 CD reissues mastered by Andy Pearce. While that is disappointing this is a great way to get very good sounding remasters of the band’s classic catalog.The cardboard sleeves aren’t of the quality you would get with a Japanese release, they serve their,purpose. There are no inner liners.The mastering is very good for the set.This would have gotten five stars if the bonus discs had also made the cut.

Never knew Alvin Lee played that great of a guitar. Wow!!!

I guess this is hard to get if you're in the U.S. (mine came from Germany to CA. and it arrived early which is very nice). The CD's are remastered, or I would not have bothered to purchase. Comes with a nice 57 pg booklet with some decent pictures. All in a nice sturdy cardboard clamshell case. I used to not like these "original album" box sets, but I've come around. These box sets are a nice inexpensive way to collect some of your favorite groups.

My only issue is the packaging. You can’t read the songs in each sleeve. I would have gladly paid more for a nice set. Music is good and brings back memories. In the end I am happy to have it.

Box set FINALLY from this amazing band. The Late Great Alvin Lee still one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived!! The remastering is superb compared to the original CD releases of "A Space In Time" as well as the tracks on their Chronicles CD. My ONLY issue with this set is that the Book style box set is already falling apart. The glue holding the cover on isn't sticking correctly. The Back cover spine is loose from the binding glue. See photo.

Somewhat disappointed...no extra tracks, no outtakes on the studio albums. One extra cd : the cap ferrat sessions. This does not replace the special 2 cd editions ... the music still great, but, I feel I just payed $72 for one extra cd and new liner notes.

Just to make clear regards the negative reviews. This is the same boxset released in 2017. Originally limited to 1500 at £90, it sold out and is now exchanging hands at around £150 or more if you can find it! Now it has a repress at £35ish, Bargain thank you. Only difference is you just get a reduced package. The original release was a nice bound book edition with the cd’s inserted. The repress has been shrunk to a clam edition. Nice booklet still provided with all the info from the 2017 edition in a less lavish form. CD’s are the same wonderful remasters, contained in the slip cases which would have housed them in the original deluxe book format. If you are a fan buy with confidence.

All covers are badly copied reproductions showing cover stains, obviously taken from badly worn vinyl albums. The discs disappointedly have the same awful picture on each disc.The only saving grace is the unreleased disc and the well produced booklet.Avoid this and buy the superior remastered editions with extra tracks issued a few years ago.

If you are careful and research your prices this can be picked up for a decent price per album, considering some are quite difficult to find. Great package and covers their important work.

After such a Long wait , thought it would be better than it is.As soon as i open it the Spine fell apart , extremely poor packaging.
