This life-like alligator did the trick in keeping away the ducks in my swimming pool. It moves across the pool with the wind and appears menacing. Good quality plastic including color. My alligator buddy has been in my pool since March and is doing fine!! Very happy with my purchase. Btw- I first purchased the alligator head and then decided to purchase the big plastic one. Both alligators are doing great!

Excellent colors and printed graphics . Very realistic and definitely a fun item . But I returned it . Advertisement indicates can scare off ducks . Not here in the north (Pennsylvania) , possible in southern states . I don’t think ducks up here are familiar with alligators hence no fear . But this is very cute and fun ad a “toy” or just as a pool float for laughs . See my pic and vid .

I’ve been battling ducks for weeks—they kept turning my pool and patio into their hangout spot. Sure, they’re cute, but the mess they leave in and around the pool isn’t. I picked up a gator and a few snakes, and it did the trick. Now when they come by, it’s just a quick flyover, and if they do land, it’s in the grass for a second before they take off again. Very happy with this purchase.

Had this magnificent bird attached to the front of our golf cart for the 4th, and he received multiple compliments. I was totally surprised on how awesome it looked when I first opened it.

I just got this item two days ago because I am getting tired of all the duck pool parties in my yard. The ducks are really cute but they make a mess and one year decided to nest in the yard next to the pool. I was excited about this as a possible way to keep the ducks away. Given that my home is geographically located close to where real alligators exist, I thought some of our local ducks might be wary of the threat of this reptile. But no, a few hours after I put it in the pool the ducks were back. They simply looked at the blow-up alligator and kept on partying. The item is cute enough that I will keep it. But It isn't real durable and may be unable to stay inflated for long periods of time. The coloration is sort of life-like but the head shape is off. I don't think any of this really matters to the ducks. They just keep swimming......

This is our second time using one of these, and securing it made all the difference. What we changed: The first time, it kept getting blown out of the pool. This time, I attached it to a raft anchor to keep it in place. Results: It has now held up through several Oklahoma windstorms without leaving the pool - and we haven’t had a single duck show up since. Effectiveness: Once it stays in place, it works exactly as intended. The movement on the water combined with the realistic look seems to be enough to keep birds away. Overall: If you’re planning to use this as a deterrent, anchoring it is key. Once we did that, it became incredibly effective.
